Huh, I knew fridges were bad news on an AFCI but never had a trouble with a UPS or charger. I would consider replacing the breaker with a newer model AFCI but then again I suppose it could be how different brands of UPS and AFCI work together.
Bad news: Dave Chappelle is being a NIMBY-headed goose over affordable housing:
I see how it's easy to go to that conclusion and that the comments have decided it's true, but the article doesn't really support it. It doesn't say why he's opposed to it, and there are a lot of good reasons to be opposed to a new project in your town. I'm not saying he's a saint, but I don't think it's fair to say he's a nimby guy who hates affordable housing because he rejected this, at least based on what is in that article.
All of the normal (not GFCI) 120V circuits in my house are AFCI protected and I've never had an issue with that. I've got 2 active UPS units and they work just fine, even when they do the self test they never trip anything.
I would say you either have one of the first releases of AFCI breakers (they were crap) or your breaker is going bad. I'd probably replace it.
We nearly got screwed this summer with a flooring install because the company we used was great on the sale, but horrible on the install. They were going to leave the job half done until we started complaining. They "scheduled" 2 days but the shop manager gave them only 1 day to complete it in which was impossible.
We even paid them to subcontract the plumbers to do toilet removal/reinstall because I didn't want to screw with it. I then got told on the phone that I needed to call the plumbers they hired to schedule things to do that by a very stupid person, to whom I then had to explain how contracting works.
I'll PM you the name of the company we used if you want it and want to avoid them. They aren't national but do cover a few states in the midwest/east coast/southeast area.
I was planning on doing the install myself, at least the wood for sure. Once we get that half in we're going to reassess the title half.
If you do the tile yourself, definitely rent a diamond tile wetsaw. They save you time and money.
Materials wise I'd just look for the best quality for the money. You'll probably need to go to a flooring supplier to get that. Lowes/Home Depot are a bit limited in the selection they carry.

My own home-owning experience of late has been to replace all the windows in our house during the pandemic. It took about 18 months from first quote to getting everything done, and the chaser was the local authority telling us we needed planning permission for the new window we had put in because, for reasons they couldn't find, our estate had the normal planning rules suspended for new windows, so even though if we'd have had the new window put in anywhere else in the city it would have been fine, because it was in our estate we have to apply for permission and that'll be £200 thank you.
Geth, close the thread.
