Well that was... an ending. That show tapered off pretty hard.
Cross needs a much more obvious finisher.
I had to think about why that finished the match before I realized "oh, that was an avalanche finisher"
Kinda booked themselves into a big 'no-win' corner there.
Rest of the show was good as hell. 4 great matches, one of which was entirely out of left field. Seriously, Pat McAfee did the best celebrity wrestler performance I can remember.
Kross’ entire act isn’t connecting with me at all. I think they’ll be shocked at the lack of reaction he gets when live audiences return.
I almost think this is due to some sort of emergency call up of Lee.
His whole gimmick just seems like something created by somebody who doesn't watch wrestling but is trying to come up witha character who might be a heel on a wrestling show. Like I know that Finn got a lot of crap for his demon gimmick being melodramatic panto shit but at least that only happened once in a while. Dude is constantly smoldering intensity. Scarlet is always menacingly slinking about hm rubbing his muscles and it's all in black and white and it just looks like an evil cologne commercial.
On the Strong side of things, the BJW tag title match of Daisuke Sekimoto & Kohei Sato vs Astronauts was sick. Abe and Nomura put up a hell of a fight, well worth checking out if you're a fan of bigger wrestler vs smaller wrestler matches.
Okay! Time for DDT.
Chris Brookes said he's gonna represent DDT to his fullest extent when he defends the Universal title against Drew Parker next month. He'd better bring a fucking knife.
Spoiled out of respect to anyone who's actually going to watch this
Tetsuya Endo vs T-Hawk in the King of DDT final!! DAMNATION makes the finals of the tournament 5 years running! I have a bad feeling about this #DAMNHearts match later tonight.
It is wild to see WWE do the worst booking decision they have made in a while by having Lee drop the title LESS THAN TWO MONTHS IN when AEW made the best one they have made in ages by having Brodie just fucking murder Cody on live TV and make the Dark Order a legitimate threat again
Both companies are monstrous nightmares rn but what a weird thing to happen on the same day

The WWE one is even more baffling when you realize that tonight's AEW was a taped show, so they knew what AEW would be doing going in.
I was listening to a podcast and their view was Vince doesn't take accusations seriously because he has personally been accused of worse, and he doesn't think he personally did anything wrong. Since the accusations against wrestlers aren't as bad as what he was accused of doing, as long as they don't admit what they did or get arrested/found guilty, the company won't punish them.

It's like the evil mirrorverse version of "well [the abuser] is nice to me so they can't be that bad..."
How did nobody mention that AEW booked a Mimosa Mayhem match?
Because seriously, that is inspired lunacy.
So what is this?
So, it's Orange Cassidy against Chris Jericho. Orange juice against champagne. So they're going to have a giant vat of mimosas at ringside and one of the win conditions of the match is dunking your opponent in said vat.

This is Endo's second King of DDT win, and DAMNATION's fourth since the unit formed in 2016.
Endo is still insisting on fighting Kenny Omega but was told he has to come up with a backup plan in case that's not possible. He's clearly upset at the prospect but said that if it can't be Kenny he does have another opponent in mind. Personally, I hope it's Shuji Ishikawa.

The podcast hosts think that, or did they have some sort of (former?) WWE guest who brought that?

I wish I had confidence that the Keith Lee will be used well on Raw or Smackdown but both those shows are bad.
That was a pretty mid Takeover.
hhh is a piece of shit

Their only mistake is that it needs to be held at brunch.

Here's the segment from last night introducing the concept:

This is clearly giving Jericho the advantage, Orange's drink of choice is screwdrivers.

Tetsuya Endo!! Luckily it looks like T-Hawk and #STRONGHEARTS took the loss in good spirits. It was a ridiculous match, too.

I made a game, it has penguins in it. It's pay what you like on Gumroad.
Currently Ebaying Nothing at all but I might do in the future.
Definitely, esp because all but the most amateurish daydrinkers know a proper mimosa is AT LEAST 3:1 champagne to oj.
Not gonna get many more...
