Anyway, I always say that college football is America's most absurd major sport. Even if nothing actually happens, there has definitely been plenty of stuff to talk about in this offseason.
Also, the pick 'em is currently in "wait-and-see mode".

I think for now the pickem should be how many games each conference will end up playing.

I still put slight odds on there not being a season at all. Just slight though. We're likely just around the corner from a FBS conference announcing they won't play this year.
I felt a great disturbance in the Forums... as if a dozen voices suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.
Oh wait no we good, the thread is back

Hot damn I’d click the ads on your site I’ll even do work to find it with some hints if it avoids you getting in trouble with Tube
Ehh, it's not that big of a deal tbh. We had enough loyal readers follow us to the new site and be willing to buy a subscription despite us not really offering any sub-only stuff that it's more trying to find interesting things to write about that has become the problem. Like, we decided to try and start up our traditional fall camp preview series even though none of us think a season will happen.
If you're all that curious, just remember that I'm still writing about UCLA sports, and the fight song is The Mighty Bruins. Should help you find your way. Also no ads!
Edit: Basically it feels really shitty to have people pay to support you when there's nothing to really write about. I think I've written 3 different "We should not have sports right now" articles in the past few months, for example.
All of the stories coming out about these schools's terrible response to covid, from maybe implying athletes that sign on with stuff like PAC-12 united or the rumblings from Colorado State that players were being told they shouldn't report COVID symptoms have largely just enforced the belief that the NCAA should be abolished and everyone in charge should be tossed in a well

They’re definitely in danger of exposing their own worthlessness as an organization.

Nebraska AD expects fans in the stadium for games. I mean, there are plenty of people that want to risk it but he doesn't seem to care about covid so that's super :?

I've been think about the bolded quite a lot over the last few months on how fans will show up to campuses (and to a greater extent, NFL stadium areas) to tailgate and hang around regardless of whether you can get in to watch the game or not. Unless the parking lots are locked up, policed, and trespassing rules are enforced, there really is no way you can stop people gathering at these games and then leaving afterwards to the bars and restaurants (at least for the stadiums that have that kind of walking distance access) and spreading the virus substantially after one game.
In reality, expect a stay-at-home order to be issued for these town and cities that have football teams because we cannot get out of our own way with this pandemic and seeking outside entertainment with others.
News that Big 10 presidents meeting today with all options (canceled/postponed season) on the table. Some industry scuttlebutt thinks all fall sports across all conferences will be postponed by the end of the week.
Really happy that Texas' "year to shine" is destroyed by a fucking pandemic

It really does suck though. Senior returning starter QB, massive number of returning starters, especially on the defensive side of the ball where we had issues last season, offensive side has some really massive playmakers returning plus some new ones expected to make a splash

A bunch of players have been tweeting out #WeWantToPlay over the weekend, mentioning all the reasons it'd be good to have a season. A lot of your generally terrible pundits have leapt on it, doing a lot of, "well, you say we should pay attention to what players want, huh?"
Anyways, the players using the hashtags all started to drop tweets like this:
To quote Spencer Hall, the players ran a play fake with the #WeWantToPlay hashtag, and just made a bunch of jackass media people (aka most of the dickheads working at Fox Sports) look incredibly stupid.
Yeah I was so confused as to why the media was signal boosting a tweet that asked for a players association. Then I saw Klatt was talking about it, and I realized that they were all just idiots and didn't read it.

Well, kinda.
Lawrence and a bunch of other players spent a ton of Sunday tweeting using the #WeWantToPlay hashtag, which cause the idiots like Klatt, Kanell, and Tennessee Jackass to signal boost them and be all “SEE THE PLAYERS WANT A SEASON LETS DO IT.” Then at midnight they all posted the image calling for a players union and now we’re sitting here waiting for those jackasses to wake up and figure out how they try not to support the players unionizing.
Edit: I should note the good media people were also all awake when midnight hit and have been enjoying the entire thing.
A lot of crazy things are now likely to happen in my lifetime, and I wonder which happens first:
End of US as a global superpower
New coastlines many miles further inland than where they are presently
Michigan beating OSU
A real football/basketball minor league, ending “big time college athletics” (10k-30k stadiums instead of 100k...)

Apparently this was started by Clemson dudes (Rencher reaches to Boles, then looped Lawrence in)
It’s amazing to see Lawrence go from oblivious foobawer to BLM supporter to labor organizer and make the chuds’ heads explode.
I wonder how much of this coming from Clemson has to do with playing for Dabo...

Here is where the dominoes start getting knocked over and the Spring football discussion gets more momentum.
e: Also, GO (newly temporary ACC football member) IRISH!!! (maybe?)

Big Ten, the most morally upright*conference, leading the way
B1G!
*except for those amoral brigands in Columbus

Michigan has always belonged in the Big 12 IMO
God what a shit show
No, food trades
A shipment of Zingerman’s Sandwiches in exchange for some Franklin Barbecue. Perfect deal.
Is it like cause Iowa State/Kansas/KSU, etc are in/adjacent to B1G states?
On the one hand, screw this
On the other, can we convince them to take Northwestern and Iowa because there is nobody else I want in the Big 12 more
2020 just continues to be full of surprises...
