Probably was mentioned during the pre-game shows and throughout the day on Saturday, but the B1G schedule was announced early in the morning.

    JeDULvi.jpg

Some minor tweaks were made from the originally released schedule back in August but most of the rivalry games on the last weekend of the regular season remains intact.

I just now realized how many Big10 school icons are just a single letter. EDIT: Shit, mostly the same two letters!

That schedule makes for a fun word search. I got no, inn, win, moo, rom, (and if you use PSU also as an O) norm, room, row, mom, ion. Got close to the fabled MooN game a couple times, but I couldn't quite sus out a way to pull it off.

@Oghulk I was doing security screening for a Saginaw Valley State University football charter last year, and I had to keep a straight face when I checked one of their player's IDs and read the name "Lion King"

    Tidbits:

    - ND postpones their game with Wake Forest to December 12th due to seven ND players testing positive and another dozen being isolated on Monday.

    - Just noticed that Indiana will play all of its division games the first six weeks. Minnesota and Maryland will play all of their division games in a row after playing their two non-division games to start with.

    - The PAC-12, MW, and MAC Presidents are taking a page from the B1G and will vote this week to have a fall football season or not.

They probably switched it because from a branding and merchandise/licensing perspective you can do more with a letter (along with you know, having a Native American mascot).

The OSU logo is actually only used for athletics and we use a block "O" without the name it for most everything else (only is usually red/scarlet rather than grey).

Our winner this week was @Gnizmo ! Congratulations!

And as a note, folks, the picks will probably generally go up on Fridays this year because the schedule is, uh, shall we say, fluid this year. I will add the form entry this week if you want a notification of the picks going up. I think you can still sign up this week and it's still anyone's game!

Update: PAC-12 and Mountain West are back in, playing a reduced 7 game conference schedule (PAC-12) / 8 game schedule (MW).

MAC will vote today on a football season, money (pun intended) is on they will be back as well.

    True, it just means more.

But you could really make life easy on yourself and grade on a UNC curve.

SE++ PICK'EMS WEEK GOD DAMMIT PAC-12 NOT YOU TOO

    Straight Up
#24 Louisville @ #21 Pittsburgh (-3) - One side effect of the Big Ten and Pac-12 getting removed from the rankings for the time being has been seeing the Pitt Superweapon ranked for some reason, which only serves to slow the charging cycle before firing. I half-expect them to lose this game so that they'll be fully charged in time for Miami or Notre Dame (or, if 2020 finally decides to give us something good, both).

Iowa State (-2.5) @ Texas Christian - This is TCU's first game of the year since their original opener was cancelled due to the deadly pandemic still ravaging the country, and Iowa State would like you to believe this is their first game of the year as well. No one knows how this game will play out, and if you think you know you're just lying.

#16 Tennessee (-3.5) @ South Carolina - Hahahaha Tennessee is totally losing this game.

    Against the Spread
#8 Texas (-17.5) @ Texas Tech - I don't know if Texas is truly good this year, but considering how the rest of the country looks, they're probably good enough at this point. The better story is that their opening schedule is so bad that they won't get an actual test until Oklahoma, which means one of those two fanbases are going to be more upset than normal after the Red River Rivalry.

#22 Army @ #14 Cincinnati (-13.5) - Cincinnati is one of the AAC teams trying to gate-crash the CFP, and of the three real contenders (the other two being UCF and Memphis), Cincy might actually have the best case should they go undefeated. Army would be the best non-conference win out of the three teams, and they don't have the baked-in dislike that the committee clearly has for UCF at this point. And then I point out that Army isn't a push-over by any stretch, to the point where if they win this game, you could really see Army work hard to try and make up their postponed game against BYU.

Florida State @ #12 Miami (-10.5) - Miami isn't back, but they have done a good job of taking advantage of outmatched opponents. The good news is outmatched is a good descriptive term for Florida State at this point. The bad news is they play Clemson next week, which should put an end to this stupid hype cycle.

GAME OF THE CENTURY OF THE WEEK (AGAINST THE SPREAD)
#23 Kentucky @ #8 Auburn (-7.5) - The SEC is back, and they've graced us with a prime opportunity for Auburn fans to demand Gus Malzahn be fired! Kentucky is a popular upset pick, in part because they have experience, a great defense, and an offense that prioritizes shortening the game with a strong rushing attack and enough positive pass plays to keep opposing defenses honest. On the flip side, Auburn is hoping Bo Nix makes the jump in year 2, but there's a lot of new faces Auburn is integrating into the starting lineup. It's a classic first-game matchup between talent and experience, and it will at least be fascinating to see which wins out.

I will say this is the first I've felt pretty confident in Texas in awhile. Our slot receivers are both injured, but we've got enough experience and playcalling for both the WRs and TEs that we can throw the ball to a lot of different players (7 different people caught TDs against UTEP). Oline is playing fairly well, and we've got actual RB depth. Sam Ehlinger is still a really good quarterback too. Defense is pretty healthy and we return a fuck ton of starters all over the place.

    Texas (-17.5) @ Texas Tech
    Army @ Cincinnati (-13.5)
Florida State @ Miami (-10.5) - This is the only one I'm any kind of confident in, though that's probably because I'm a bit of a homer when it comes to UM. Also this is more of a rivalry game than the teams they both play during Hate Week.

Game of the Week (AGAINST THE SPREAD)
    Kentucky @ Auburn (-7.5)

Heck of a FG kick for K State for the lead. And gets the defensive stop.

Guess you really have to trust the OU defense to get a three and out when you are buried in your own end to get a final shot to tie/win.

The self loathing Texas fan is incredibly rare. Most of them could believe their team is better than yours and would win the game even if they were 0-12.
