Nothing about that screams playoffs even a little bit other than "hey it's Oklahoma and they haven't lost." I think putting them at 8 was the best thing the committee did, to be honest. They are a little better since Caleb Williams took over, but not enough to put them in.

Self-righteousness is incompatible with coalition building.
I'm sure Cincy will get lots of respect when they move to the Big 12! Oh...oh dear. Sadly they are likely to be in the same boat once OU and texas leave.

I REALLY want to be wrong about the Big 12 getting left out in the cold compared to what the other P5 teams have done.

Replace Oregon’s 1-score win over OSU with a 3-score win over Texas, or Florida State, or hell Wisconsin and they’re getting pulled down by their conference too
"We have a lot of football coaches on our salary," Perlman recently told ESPN, chuckling. "Yeah, it was horrible. I didn't like it. And of course you get a lot of public flak for it, which I did. But as I say, it's part of the competitive context in which you're operating. If you're not going to do it, you're not going to get coaches."
He is saying that about Bill Callahan, Bo Pelini, and Mike Riley(looool)
WEEK 10: SHOCK THE MONKEY WAIT SOMEONE MADE THAT JOKE ALREADY DIDN'T THEY DAMN IT
Straight Up
Army vs. Air Force (-2.5) - Round two of the Commander-in-Chief Trophy. Air Force can seal it with a victory here, having already beaten Navy 23-3 earlier, and it should be pointed out this is an Air Force team looking to do bigger things. They already have a win over Boise State in their pocket and have a relatively easy stretch of Mountain West games that could put them in position to win their division should Utah State falter. Army...look, it's Army, it's the same team it always is. They are coming off a rather un-Army-like game against Wake Forest before their bye, so we'll see if this is a return to form.
#3 Michigan State (-3) @ Purdue - Sparty is thanking their lucky stars that the Playoff Committee put Alabama at #2 ahead of them, because it means Purdue is suddenly powerless to stop them. If Sparty was #2, things would be very different because I'm sure Purdue would love to add another scalp to their pile.
Colorado State (-3.5) @ Wyoming - Cowboys, I had such high hopes for you, especially after starting out 4-0. But you've since gone 0-4, including a brutal loss to New Mexico of all teams. As for you, Colorado State, I had no expectations for you and you've still managed to exceed them by pulling off one of the dumbest endgame attempts in recent memory. Steve Addazio is a true innovator and it is a wonder why USC won't consider him for the job.
Tennessee (-1) @ #18 Kentucky - I'm looking at this game and just confused as to what I'm seeing. Both teams have lost two straight, with one of those losses coming to Georgia/Alabama and the other to a Mississippi school. Do I think Tennessee may be better because they were close to beating the better of those Mississippi schools? Yeah probably. Do I think it matters in a game where Kentucky wants to do its best boa constrictor impression? Probably not.
SICKOS GAME OF THE WEEK
#9 Wake Forest @ North Carolina (-2.5) - Few things to note here. First, this is the traditional ACC conference-game-that-doesn't-count-as-one game, which means Wake Forest can do literally anything here and it won't affect their trip to Charleston. Second, that #9 ranking from Wake Forest almost guarantees they're going to get North Carolina's best shot, and I'd argue the Tar Heels probably have more talent than Wake Forest. Third, this is a noon kickoff (9 AM in the Lord's timezone) and part of an early slate with very little upset potential, so all eyes will be on this one. And finally....look it wasn't a great Sickos week, so CHAOS took over here.
Against the Spread
Kansas State (-23.5) @ Kansas - THE GOVERNOR'S CUP! Frankly it's understandable that oddsmakers would believe Kansas is looking ahead to their annual upset of Texas next week with this line.
#13 Auburn @ #14 Texas A&M (-4.5) - Here are two teams that I'm not actually convinced are all that good, but nothing I think matters so whatever. Auburn controls its own destiny in the SEC West, which is a funny thing to think about, while Texas A&M needs a LOT of help to get there (win out, Mississippi State loses a game, Alabama loses a second time). Oh, and Auburn's coach is staring down the barrel of getting Rolovich'd. That's cool and good that we're still doing this.
Navy @ #10 Notre Dame (-20.5) - Cincinnati got screwed by the Playoff Committee but the one silver lining is that the Committee apparently thinks Notre Dame is really good. That should help the Bearcats going forward because I can't really see them losing a game against the rest of their schedule. This may be the toughest game they have left by virtue of "Service Academy Triple Option Good Luck", but even that feels wrong because this Navy team is not very good.
#4 Oregon (-6.5) @ Washington - Washington head coach Jimmy Lake decided to put his foot in his mouth this week by stating that Oregon and Washington were not recruiting rivals because the Huskies are actually recruiting rivals with the Stanfords and Harvards of the world. Besides the fact that Lake is vastly overestimating the quality of a Washington education (it's fine, but it's also not even in the top third of the Pac-12), Lake is also vastly overselling the quality of Washington's recruiting, because the Huskies have been real bad on that front under Lake. To give Lake one piece of credit: he's not wrong that Oregon is not a great educational school by comparison, no matter how much Oregon's President would like you to believe that's not the case. Anyways, glad this was the biggest story of the week and nothing else happened to take up the airspace.
Oh and Oregon is #4 and in the Playoff as of now, which guarantees an impending loss in Civil War. Sorry but I don't make the rules.
GAME OF THE CENTURY OF THE WEEK (AGAINST THE SPREAD)
#16 Texas-San Antonio (-10.5) @ Texas-El Paso - I used the shiny new playoff rankings up top but fuck that noise. UTSA is undefeated and deserves to be ranked and I will not let the shittiness of the Committee prevent me from doing so here. UTSA is having a hell of a two weeks - they're still undefeated, they're ranked for the first time in school history, and their coach got signed to an extension after Texas Tech begged him to leave and come to Lubbock. UTEP's loss last week took some of the shine off this game, but that's not going to distract us from the biggest football story in Texas at this point in time. Meep Meep, motherfuckers.
I would like to submit an alternative to Sickos Game of the Week
still in free fall, number 22 Iowa goes to Ryan Field to face a Northwestern team desperate for a win after two back to back blowouts
this game could possibly have the funniest upset potential of them all, as a win would almost assuredly eliminate iowa from division title contention three weeks after being number 2, and from a pure aesthetics point of view it's going to be some truly rancid shit

Defense is clearly on the right track.
Martinez is talented but so often a liability.
O-line is young and talented but makes too many mistakes.
Special teams are a fucking abomination and we desperately need a dedicated special teams coach.
I think Frost gets another year and if he does he horribly badly omg please, needs that ST coach and needs to find a better game manager at qb.
Just so much self inflicted bullshit with this team that holds back any promise they have.
This is just a shoot-your-dicks-off off in Lincoln
