Yeah, this mostly loops back to what I said about me personally steering clear of Summoner's Rift. Having the roles that rigidly passed down from the developers feels off, and having the entire game coming down to enabling your carries' farm is just kinda boring. But again, that's just my take on it. Clearly the formula works for the millions of people that've been playing for a decade.
Today's ARAM discoveries: Moakai's ult is exactly the kind of ability I love but all three of his basic abilities are so milquetoast :c I see how he's designed to be a lane bully, but having his W and E just devoted to "buttons you hit after hitting R because you have nothing else to do" is very meh.

I mean, there are always exceptions. If I'm 200 away from a buy and you're 1500 away with a minute before an objective spawn in the late game, let me get some of that farm so I can contribute to the fight better.

i mean what's supposed to happen is that they need to go to other lanes.
most marksman are by far the most vulnerable character on the team, so midgame you should stick them mid to keep farming because adcs scale the best with gold.
if your mid refuses to give you the lane, yea you should keep trying to grab side lanes, but your farm will probably end up lower as it's generally not safe against the vast majority of teams.

Getting a solo 1v5 penta on Twitch in URF is still very satisfying. That penta turned the game around and we ended up winning.
Also tried Fizz and it frustrates me at how bad I am at playing what seems like a pretty simple and straight forward champ.

If you can get away with it steal that shit from the enemy jungle.
Depends on circumstances
If your jungler is Ivern, you can feel totally fine taking camps as adc or mid when you’re passing by. If your jungler is hecarim and doing more damage than anyone else on the team, maybe better not.
If your jungler is split pushing, you should take their camps if you’re in the area and they’ll respawn by the time he gets back.
If you’re support zyra/brand/Lux/vel, similar judgment applies as it would apply to you as mid, although probably your mid should have more camp priority than you, but kinda depends who on your team is good or not, and also who is in the area.
Eh, at the same time, it shouldn't be the support. It should be the adc, mid, or top taking those camps, not support.
If you are playing damage mage support, it works. You scale just as well with money and xp as your mid. There's also some situations where everyone else is lane farming and/or dead, so why not take raptors. But yeah, you shouldn't go out of your way to do it a lot as support most of the time.

Alright, I'm sorry for dropping by the thread and dropping negative comments, that's an unforced error on my part. The MOBA wars are long enough in the past that I shouldn't be dredging those feelings back up. I feel like I know the genre well enough and have watched enough to get the gist that I wouldn't like it but, but had found fun playing in a different mode is all I wanted say.
Not bad, ended up going on a five-game winning streak in ranked as Caitlyn tonight and got into a promo series to Silver II. I definitely feel like "just focus on killing minions and making money" is helping, since it means I'm keeping up in gold and ergo power instead of falling behind.

Ya gold is everything on adc. Imo, for like the first 20 minutes of the game basically every decision should be to maximize your gold intake, except helping with dragons when you have prio.
The faster you can get to your 2 item spike, the faster you can actually carry team fight damage, and if your team spam pings you because you’re farming a huge wave while they fuck around in jungle, mute them and carry them in 10 minutes.
Esp Caitlyn, because she has to get out of her mid game power trough to scale into late.

I partially disagree with this, because the pace of the game is such that your team can lose while you get waves (if your team is stupid and will force fights without you, which absolutely happens in gold and happens always in silver). I have had to moderate my gold intake in order to group more with the team (actually @Tcheldor inspired me the most to do that, and I trust him cause diamond support player, and the most consistent feedback he had about my play was, why the fuck are you taking sidelane waves right now). I do think it results in wins.
That said, I also play earlier game scaling adcs, and it's different with Jinx (but also splitting on Jinx is fucking terrifying; one of the biggest advantages of Sivir is that you can clear waves instantaneously and also push pretty far quite safely cause you can ult away. Jhin also is v scary to split on, really best to chill mid if you can and just take wolves and raptors as your extra income).
Idk, balancing map presence and gold/xp is always a struggle. I think it's impossible to say that you should always prioritize one or the other; it's v situational. I am kinda thinking I might switch to mid next season and play roaming mids, since I really have grown to enjoy affecting the map, and when you skirmish out of lane early as adc you can really fuck yourself over for gold/xp.
Ya pretty much every adc I play is just a sack of 300g for most champs early game.
Just last night I had a game where I was grabbing a wave probably worth 250g or more when I was level 5 trying to get 6 for rocket, and team was screwing around in jungle and pinging me. I ignored it, muted all, got 6, killed their adc with r, and finished the game 11/1/4 dying under nexus turrets because I forgot seraphines ult is longer off of her allies lol.
Generally imo those pre-10m skirmishes you just can’t change that much unless you’re playing an early game adc. Obviously if there is no wave or you can shove and come, you should, but imo it’s important to realize on a lot of adcs your actual job is late game insurance not early game team fights, and if you don’t scale you can’t do a damned thing late because you have no cc and no utility except killing people.
Which is of course why ashe and senna are so good and so contested at pro play, because they can do what you’re saying and just bail as they’re still useful no matter what and can help the team whenever.

I found a bug that's driving me insane: every time I launch the game, I get a message about receiving a new Key Fragment, even though I do not get any.
I knew that LoL is a cruel game, but this is downright sadistic!
I think I can't get plat this season, since instead of climbing over the past couple days I took a detour down to 0 LP gold 3 and then back up into gold 2.

I really should have tried this season. Not even sure I finished my promos and was at silver 2 or 3. Usually push to hit gold. But new kid and all.
I'm actually thinking of doing something different next season. I've been a karthus one trick for a few years now. Love karthus, and really like him on SR and in ranked. It's nice when the game goes long and you can win a teamfights by yourself by pressing r. My opponents probably find it cheap, but I think it's an art to playing karthus. When to flash in and die on the adc, when to just rain skittles. And the wall is big too. I love karthus.
I'm thinking of trying to play leblanc in ranked. There's a couple of other champs I find interesting I might play, but mostly leblanc. I used to ban her as karthus. Totally different gameplay where I need to push and roam. But she's so much fun in aram.
I am the dumb and bought the pass thing on like Wednesday of last week so I only had until tonight to get the quests done. I got like, 60% of them and hey thats not awful!
Step 1: Find 4 other people who are available at the appropriate lock-in window of 2-3 hours.
They need to be free for a full 3 games, so roughly 3 hours after your starting time.
Ideally you want them to be different roles, but if not just bully whoever into doing whatever's necessary.
Step 2: Acquire a Clash ticket. This can be a basic one for 975 Blue Essence / 195 RP or a premium one for 975 RP.
Step 3: Queue up together and play three games! You get to do scouting and drafting and stuff, so you probably want someone who will enjoy that.
Step 4: You'll get rewards based on your placement (1st-8th) and whether you have a basic ticket or premium.
Step 5 (Optional): Realize how awesome that was, and then put off playing League (especially your ranked climb) because the "normal" experience doesn't compare favorably, and then finish the season in Gold II because man, you really should have played those ranked games earlier and not tried to climb three divisions in less than a week

Right now, I could be happy with my performance in last game, 8/1/7, 180 farm in 30 minutes, but it's just an A rank. Understandable.
Meanwhile, jungle Shyvana from my team goes 15/0/3 and gets a Pentakill.
