If it's the Ashe support that occasionally throws out a W and then later in a teamfight presses R, does 200 dmg, and dies, no thank youuuuuu

hhhhhhhwhat how that seems like one of the worst possible matchups you could get as her lmao. like even when the strat works the intent is that you'll be down versus basically anyone but hit her powerspike (ult is way more important than any items) earlier than you would jungling, but with 8 deaths some of those must have been pre-6 and I don't know how that ever happens

I find Leona play incredibly satisfying but only with the right adc/right teamcomp. An inactive/defensive Leona is real depressing--so I don't play her as much as I could, because I won't pick her until I see some of what my team is hovering/has picked.
Anyway after a monthlong break from ranked soloQ after I went on life tilt, I fixed my life stress and now I'm winning soloQ games again hooray!
I literally make a point of playing off role nonsense* but I really don't get anyone who plays support Ashe after Mandate got made into a reasonable item. Like that was the whole build: You play poke/pressure ashe in lane and build mandate and tear items to transition into an annoying, slow spamming, damage assisting piece of shit.
But now it just doesn't really work and is just annoying for everyone in the lane the same way Shaco support is.
*Quinn can flex into five roles and no one can stop me!

Yeah I've gone deep into looking this up and my recollection is that the creator or artist or someone has talked about it publicly on twitter. And you can totally see how Taliyah is a cute girl but with maybe a little bit more teenage boyish features (I mean mainly the eyebrows), and that design thought is totally kept in the star guardian visuals as well, especially the Sessions design I think, in between her face and the choker and the 'I've only been growing my hair out for a year' sort of style.
I'm very curious to see what goes on in her little ministory but I don't know that I will accrue enough favor points before I go on vacation, so maybe someone here will have to tell me

Daniel Klein (her gameplay designer, specifically) revealed this a couple of years after her release on Twitter, but it adds some context to his Tweets on her release (which are archived care of Kotaku here). Note there are at least three people heavily involved in each champion production, from gameplay design, narrative, and art (Riot's DNA acronym for building new champions), so I would assume that all three of these were on board and had this intention at heart, though this isn't as clear.
For added added context, I believe Klein was in a relationship with a transman at the time (Kotaku references it and it comports with my memory), and his spouse as of last year is nonbinary (probably the same person? But this rabbit hole feels stalker-ish and I would argue they aren't that public of figures). Hadn't realized he moved onto Apex Legends after League.

the W is great but the E is so tremendously bad that it feels like they legit forgot to load in the assets for it, it's just.... slightly pink base skin. even her pool party skin has more effects on the rocks, and they're still supposed to just be rocks.
i'd probably buy it if the E wasn't so phoned in because the W is amazing, but such as it is.

I'm very surprised you haven't been queuing as sup/mid this whole time! My sense is it's very important to you to feel like the carry and to feel like you're strongly affecting the game from the beginning. You can roam from mid in a way that you simply can't top, so it just feels so much more impactful.
...honestly in soloQ I suspect you might have more fun just playing mid/sup over sup/mid, at least until you reach what you feel like is your true elo or elo plateau. Mid has a little more agency imo.

speaking of support, I've seen enough Seraphine recently that I decided I should probably try her again (played her at release and she felt fairly underwhelming to me) and now she feels like she's contributing a lot--not sure if it's the meta shifting or numerical changes or durability buffs or what
she feels good to play now, like if you want to play a poke mage in lane but transition to a teamfight shield/ult later. I'd pick her similarly to when I'd pick Karma (but obviously wayyy stronger gamechanging ult potential). Safe first pick, no hard counters, can do a surprising amount of dmg in lane and secure ganks with her root. I'm building Liandries instead of Moonstone but I'm honestly not sure about that. What I am sure about is building a tear on my first back because otherwise I just have 0 mana. I seem to end up doing like 20k damage in a 30-40 min game, which, idk. Maybe not enough to be worth it if I could be shitting out more heals? Regardless I think I should be able to take her into soloQ without trolling.
Anyway the problem is: her visual design is atrocious, and her voice lines are among the most obnoxious in the game. I hate her, like, as a person! If only we could put her kit on Renata Glasc instead...
i've been playing a ton of taliyah jg since her 3s stun on monsters means your first clear isn't a free kill for anyone who's awake unless you practice it for 100 hours with challenger micro.
she's a ton of fun, everyone loves a combo mage. early game is still not incredible, and ganks are hit or miss (literally, in that if you hit your combo you win, and if you don't, you lose and probably die) but once you get to midgame and are teamfighting she's an insanely powerful pick machine. it's nice playing someone who can just straight up oneshot squishy people after an item or two.

She is also just a really odd fit in the world. since she hit the world now I guess there are pop stars in runeterra? And like, a music industry? Or maybe just in Piltover, but like that sort of came out of nowhere. I mean there's room for musicians, but like she has a very like contemporary world vibe. Also her base skin is ugly as shit. her visual design is just too messy.
