Had an absolutely insane game of ARURF that I feel like we shouldn't have been able to win but we clowned on them so hard. My friend and brother were top lane Sona and Olaf against Akali and Ekko. I was bot with Bard against Hecarim and Yuumi.

Enemy team has our core WIDE open mid. They try to run it down, we're so behind that we still have OBJ bounties up. Olaf says

"Why don't you guys just forfeit"
I respond, like a poet laureate: "no u"

    Two seconds later, they surrender.

Apparently Cait had been flaming them all game in team chat and managed to do a slur in all chat as they were FFing!

But still, I can't believe "no u" actually worked.

EDIT: Two extra details. They had our core down to 5% at one point. I immediately recognized what horseshit they'd be up to, and put wards up in our Jungle entrances/exits on the periph of our base. Was able to sniff out Gwen trying to backdoor and kill her ass dead. Then the rest of their team ran it down mid, bar cait, while our core was at a juicy 20% HP. We had maybe, maybe, two tier 1 turrets down.

I'm surprised they still don't refresh the surrender timer after 20 minutes. Seems odd to make you wait another several minutes if you have 4 votes in favor at 19:59.

Again, it's so it doesn't get spammed.

The trick is to not call for a surrender if the first one at 15 fails, and to wait until 20 minutes have passed on the timer before you vote "Yes" on the FF call. If the vote starts at 19:30 and is 3-1 and you vote yes at 20:00 it will count.

Game only ever ticks 20 minutes once. Doesn't open the game up to a lot of spam to allow you to surrender at 20:01 when you would have been able to surrender two seconds earlier but for unfortunate timing.

I understand the trick, but the thing is, it only takes one person not understanding it and initiating a surrender at 19:59 to lock you all in against your will for another several minutes. It happens quite often! Would just be a nice quality of life change.

Again, no. That's not how it works. If you vote "Yes" at 20:00 and there are 4 votes 'yes' it surrenders. If you want to surrender and the timer is at 19:58 and there are 3 yes and 1 no, then wait two seconds and it'll work.

I like jungling in the abstract but it's just a miserable experience in practice even with chat disabled, you're basically playing roulette every game guessing which of your teammates is worth something, and if you guess wrong, the game is over. Support is much more pleasant because your responsibilities are largely confined to one lane for most of the early game and it's easier to know what you control and what you don't.

support is also an incredibly low pressure role because all u need to do is chain roam mid and fuck that lane up and even if u kind of int ur gold income is not hugely affected and ur probs playing a character that is useful even with relatively low income

plus the person ur meant to be supporting is usually not that relevant so even if u screw them over it doesnt matter lol

I think I need to stop playing league for a few days. I keep surrendering early on in URF games when certain champs like Malphite start getting super fed and I just don't want to deal with the frustrating as fuck up hill battle that the game will be.

Also can't stand people being unwilling to switch lanes for better match-ups. A lot of games end up with a duo queue feeding like idiots cause they want to lane together using champs with no synergy.

So Wild Rift did it's job and after playing a lot of Wild Rift I kind of started getting tired of the small roster so decided to wade back into PC after...years off. It's sooooo different than how I remember and also different than Wild Rift. It seems like you're moving SO SLOW all the time. Sejuani is totally different from what I remember! Also the game length seems a lot better, a big reason of why I left league in the first place was I didn't like how unpredictable it could be, could be a surrender at 20, could be an hour long slugfest. I think all of my games have been 30ish minutes or so, is that standard now?

Also I dunno how you could hate playing jungle. It's basically being the most flexible and impactful player and not having to have your eyes glaze over from last hitting. Sure you're reliant on your teammates, but you are in any role, and at least you can DO something about it, instead of being a solo top and just watching the other lanes die.

Learning jungle has been a lot of fun; I enjoy the more variety compared to laning, but if one lane is getting bodied you can end up getting yelled at for not babysitting them and then yelled at for not roaming. So it can be a trial.

I definitely feel way worse than I would have expected coming back to PC. I think my timing is just way off. At what level can I reliably solo dragon? I dunno. I also forget to buy things a lot because in WR when you have money to purchase your next item it just shows up on the left side when you back. If I don't see that visual cue I just assume I don't have the cash.

The unfortunate thing is I think WR is generally better, I do like a pretty solid 20 minute game, the meta is just so stale and the pool is so small. I guess it's on me for exclusively playing jungle but I have all the junglers I want to play, so once you get rid of the ones I'm not interested in it's a pretty small group overall.

One thing I'll say about PC is that the laning phase is longer which means the ganking phase is longer which is kind of the best part.

Yeah you just need to tell those people to mind their own business. I had a top lane get mad at me for not ganking their lane when I had already served up kills to mid and bot who were starting to crush theirs. I basically more than did my job at that point. I can't win all three lanes and the jungle. In that scenario top lane's job is to not die so you don't fuck up the good thing we have going in the other lanes, which we should be able to ride to victory.

People don't understand it's much easier/more productive to help people in a winning position get farther ahead than it is to bring someone behind back to parity.

Yeah, I fell of jungling in large part because it felt like that role is saddled with the responsibility of being the team's therapist. You have all these complicated macro decisions to make (which are fun!), but often, those decisions take a backseat to just making sure your laners don't get so frustrated at their disadvantageous matchup or poor performance that they tilt off the face of the earth and start sabotaging the game to punish their teammates. Makes it even harder to keep chat disabled, which is the best way to play the game.

Want to know how to make your jungler's life better?
    1. Don't push your lane all the way to the enemy's tower then yell at us when we don't actively gank your lane.
    2. If you see your jungler coming up/down the river start attacking your minions from the other side of the lane so you push your enemy closer to the jungle bush on the jungler's side.
    3. Put down a ward like once. Please jesus.
    4. If it's not at least the third respawn cycle don't ask for one of the buffs.
    5. For the love of god look at your minimap and realize there's a whole damn game going on outside of your one lane (I'm looking at your top and and bot).
    6. Actively try to help get the dragon.

Yeah you need to have a thick skin or be the kind of person who can laugh at that shit. I really like having to make those decisions and having control over the game in general. I also like not having to last hit (well except for smite).

To add on to the jungler help list, realize that burning flash is a pretty good gank! You should give me like thirty seconds before you start aggressively bullying them and pushing them under the tower though because that's a great time to come back for the follow up gank.

Also, know when to fold em. I know that sometimes they flash under tower and they're just OH SO CLOSE to dead but you really need to do some risk reward analysis. What are the odds that I also die here once I factor in my health and my opponent's abilities to stall/cc me under that tower? How do those odds change if I currently have no idea where the enemy jungler is?

Forcing a flash and back is a pretty good outcome. Or sometimes I just show up in lane and they immediately flash after one ability. That's super awesome too.

Yeah it's really nice. It's not even the exact length that bothered me before, it's just the variability. I would like to have a rough idea of what I'm getting into when I hit that find match button.

And what I wouldn't give for WR's ranked system in PC League.

Speaking of ranked, have gone 3-0 in my placements as Zeri so far. Machine gun continues to go brr, although I think I've had the luck of having really good supports to play off of. Even if I'm a dumbass and hit the wrong button and wallrode right into the middle of the enemy team instead of shooting a laser into them.

Still havn't settled on a item build yet, but I've had good luck with TF/Black Cleaver/Titan Hydra.

EDIT: 4-1 now, although I'm not that angry about that loss since jeezus that Veigar/Poppy bot lane combo played their asses off.

Is there a way to not have to select the two roles I'd like to play every time?? Wild Rift just remembers my preferred order of all five roles.

Also I really like on mobile that it rotates the map when you're on the other side. The enemy's gate is down. Or up and to the right I guess.

Here's another question: what the fuck is f2p progression in this game? WR was very simple to understand, PC it seems like everything needs me to buy the pass to actually earn anything? I see the missions give me tokens but it appears I need the pass to actually HAVE the tokens I earned. Is there no generic blue essence progression?

Generally, completely ignoring the event going on, the F2P progression is account levels from XP from playing games. You get containers when you level up that have champion fragments in them that you can either break down into blue essence, or you can spend blue essence on the shard to unlock the champion itself. As a example, Nami with a shard is 2880, but something like 4800 on the store.

The "Pass" tokens thing is that if you own the pass, you get bonus tokens from playing and winning games outside of the missions themselves. They bank the ones you would have earned in case you buy the pass later so you don't miss out.

For F2P skins, there are chests and keys that you can randomly earn from playing, putting up good numbers in matchmade games, or getting awards from team-mates for not being a terrible human being.

also yesterday I played a game with a viego support (I was Jhin, into Sivir/Pyke)

FortunatelyI haven't gotten back to my normal elo yet so I just 2v1'd while Viego stood ~500 units behind me and did literally nothing all lane. Into Pyke, he could have just walked up and scrapped, but nah.

Then we lost because their top/jg got fed off my toplane ignite Senna, who was very mad at Viego for playing off-meta, and then they both yelled a lot over how the other one needed real life friends instead of making troll picks for attention

I definitely should have dodged that lobby but I was morbidly curious about the Viego support hahaha

All of this jungler advice is over complicating it:

Just lock Lilia, focus on sequencing and stealing camps. Abandon botlane and the first two drakes.

Then use herald and your huge amount of money/xp over that loser Lee sin who dared to try interact with the enemy to ram top lane down the enemy teams throat.

You now possess two bruisers of different damage types against an enemy team with probably zilch front line and a crying adc complaining how they won lane but lost game.

well w/e, today I have had some nice games; always a pleasure to do a Caitlyn total lane dominance thing and find yourself at 70 cs to your enemy's 20.
