Tell me about your Local

I have a couple of local pubs.

one's called the Stoned Crow. it's good because it has an awesome beer called Cascade Blonde on tap and on mondays and tuesdays they do $10 mussels and $10 pizza. it's really new - we went there on the first day it was open - and it's just up the road, so i kinda feel like i'm a real regular. it's a good place, airy and modern and there are some cute girls at the bar.

my other local is Gilroy's, an Irish pub. it's more traditional and the food there's cheaper, but the quality varies. it's good for watching sports and relaxing in the big leather booths. also drinking guiness. it's a great place to crash and just have a chat after a big day

what's your local? what do you love about it?

My favorite local is Lidocaine. Lidocaine, the first amino amide-type local anesthetic, was developed first by Nils Löfgren and Bengt Lundqvist in 1943 and first marketed in 1948. Lidocaine has a more rapid onset of action and longer duration of action than amino ester-type local anesthetics such as procaine. It is approximately 90% metabolized in the liver by CYP1A2 (and to a minor extent CYP3A4) to the pharmacologically-active metabolites monoethylglycinexylidide and glycinexylidide. The elimination half-life of lidocaine is approximately 1.5–2 hours in most patients. This may be prolonged in patients with hepatic impairment (average 343 minutes) or congestive heart failure (average 136 minutes).

My favourite place to drink and see bands and the like in Brisbane is a night club called the Zoo.
They do this thing on saturday afternoons call Dub Sessions. Free pool, cheap drinks, board games and a great dub and reggae DJ. I've been a regular at Dubbos for like 5 years now.

A place called ''Le Dagobert''. They refused 50 Cent ( aka Curtis Jackson ) to enter in the bar when he was in town, so I respect them, a lot.

there used to be like 13 pubs in a 1 mile radius of my house

    now there is one

and i don't even go there

because it is full of local people

i go to town and drink there

because there are like a trillion pubs

and they are actually sometimes good

one time I was on a date at a cafe, and my date was facing the specials board.
she broke conversation, got up, walked over to the specials board, licked her finger and rubbed the apostrophe away from "Nacho's"

oh god, I wanted to sweep the table and take her right there.

I go to a few different places around here, my favorite is probably the Triple Rock, awesome venue, good cheap beer, and good food. Plus its part owned by Patty of D4 fame.

Another place I've been heading to lately is William's, it has over 70 taps so you pretty much can get any type of beer you can think of, plus they serve the beer in liter mugs and hey all the free popcorn and peanuts you can eat.

i dunno, i could imagine 13 wetherspoons all crowded around a block of apartments, a thatched roof cottage and a train platform that no trains ever stop at
