the end of the character stories are time gated behind the like mechanic in that other screen, but yea all the combat missions are available.
penance is good, but she's a little wierd. like someone stuffed mountain and mudrock into the same operator. if she's strong enough to solo hold the lane she's in, she's basically unstoppable. but since her healing relies on getting kills, she's awkward with other units attacking the lane she's in.
and final training room queued up for texas, m6 and level 3 module done. with her, surtr, horsedad and gun chen i will feel deep shame if i ever have problems with killing a boss in the future
he’s not a meme anymore and he’s new but i’ve never enjoyed using him from borrowing, so kinda whatever

i got reed fairly quickly after a saria dupe in my first 10, but i also uh, haven’t gotten far enough in the story to craft the materials to e2 her. i have some regrets heh

Got totally skunked on Reed Alter so far. So... did people all drop this? Very quiet here of late.
I'm still playing but I haven't been doing anything particularly interesting. I did get Reed after a bunch of 10 pulls - used up a good chunk of my red crystal thingies.
It stinks that we have an event about fire and the devs forgot that one of the characters is literally a fire fighter. No skin, no role in the story, no neat interaction with the mechanic, NOTHING.
Sorry for double post, but I finally got my Reed Alter pull today. Just in time to find out she's the first Alter that doesn't give you gift mats for having the other one ranked up, what the Hell?
got both operators pretty quick, lin i actually got once from my free pull and once from my free 10 pull, which was stupid. took about 40-50 more for next 6* but thankfully it was the limited so i can grab kirin x yato without too much trouble and made it through this nightmarish section of pulls mostly ok
i also see they haven’t put in the patch where they fix how many times chongyue uses his voice lines because damn son

Pulled Lin within the first 20. Very broke, probably can't make a push on Chongyue. Maybe I'll get lucky.
Got Lin and Chong in 100 pulls, which is perfect. Leaves me with 100 pulls to hit the pity on Monster Hunter. Right down to the wire.
There might be one operator in the middle of these two though. Anyone know if Qiubai is any good? The wiki never updates with recommendations until closer to the English release.
she's not even worth using until her module in a few months anyway, so not a big deal.
That's good to know. It still makes me sad for my almost complete operator collection tho (I'm still missing whatshisface... Jin? I don't remember his name... but that's it) (edit: It was Lee, I had to look it up :P)
haha yea, but at least you got the limited. i also had to punch out on penance last limited and i wasn't happy about it because she's fun, but discretion better part of valor and all.
lin's module takes her from 50% chance to get 1 sp on being attacked to 80% to generate 2 sp on being attacked. it's one of the bigger module upgrades for a talent, .5 sp to 1.6sp per hit.
PSA, The "Fragmented Formations" medal lists WB-EX-3 as the default condition and WB-EX-4 as the trim condition. All of the conditions are for 4, I don't know why they let this sit instead of fixing it.
Ugh, had to go all the way 120 pulls for Yato. Positive spin is that I max potted Noir on the way, I guess?
Also, wtf is this new mode. Glad it's open for a month because I have no idea wtf is going on in this thing.

That feeling when you don't notice this new event is a Monster Hunter crossover until you see the cat costume in the shop... lol
I've been trying to decide what to use the insta-e2-90 boost thing on (since it's weird and you have to at least buy e2 lvl 1 first)... Look at Game Press tier list. Oh, Kirin R Yato is EX tier? Seems like a good choice (I'm glad it didn't take too too many pulls to get her). She does seem really good too - time to buff her up I guess. Already unlocked the module so working on mastery now.
I hope I can repeat the tutorial for the weirdo part of the event. I clicked it on accident and didn't know what I was doing and it literally would not allow me to back out until I got through like 30 dialog boxes. Ugg. It looks complicated too...
In any case, glad to have gotten both operators. Remember from experience with Dragalia Lost's Monster Hunter crossover to not expect this event to ever return (already haven't repeated the Rainbow Six Siege event - glad I got all of them too).
Thoughts on the MonHun event:
The aesthetics are very good, the dev notes about "not using the music we agreed to" are extremely strange, the lack of medals and low list of level challenges seems off, and the event reward structure is maybe the worst ever?
Starting from that last point, they've made the rewards gacha, and it really sucks. Normally, you can target exactly what you would like, which is helpful if you're not going to grind the event enough to clear the store. But even if you ARE playing that much, this still sucks because the lesser, infinite rewards are in the same pull queue as most of the "decent" materials (the really prime stuff mercifully didn't have any booby prizes in there). Meaning I'm STILL on the hunt for the last 20k cash reward because it keeps giving me 2k instead. This is also one of those events where the stages don't directly have any drops themselves, and I dislike that structure too, so that's two strikes.
Being more positive, I like how the "enemies" are clearly wildlife panicked into a dangerous stampede or predators wanting to eat you, not some kind of evil enemy faction (note, as ever, I'm just playing the content and not reading the novel that comes with it, I save that for later, if ever). Rathalos feels tough, but beatable, so far, compared to some event bosses I just completely despise on sight. I think it's a bit of a missed opportunity that the people we're isekaing out of this world this time are a bunch of silly 1 star cats (with basically no records to read), especially since we got a meaty group of characters from R6 that have had to just deal with being stuck in this shit world ever since (not that I expect the R6 trio to ever get any mention ever again, but it's fun to think about).
The camping event, I haven't touched outside of being stuck in that massive tutorial on day one. It seems interesting in concept, I just have had NO free time for it.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the reward structure. I need to spam the event tonight (I think it ends tonight? I hope I didn't derp - edit: yes, thank god) to try and clean up some of the 2nd tier rewards since I still haven't gotten some of the premium rewards there. Actually shit, I never did the EX missions either.. bah! Ugg, I'm gonna be busy tonight.
I tried to do the other mode (which I know is available for a few more weeks at least.. like October 7th IIRC?). Uh, I am legit so confused. WTF is this mode? There are like 20 different, new unique systems all interacting with each other and I'm supposed to remember like a half hour straight of unskippable tutorials? I'm really gonna have to look on youtube and see if someone explained this one in common sense language. Maybe just a guide I can follow because I have no patience for learning this shit. There's something with cutting down trees and building a base and other weird shit? Ugg it hurts my head just trying to think about it. I did one mission after the tutorial and then suddenly the map EXPLODED into this massive spiderweb of shit, like, it looked like a fucking Final Fantasy skill tree... there must have been like 50 different nodes on that thing... that was when I nope'd the fuck out of there.
I THINK the idea of the new mode is: grind out resources in levels where the idea is to attack points of interest or critters, not defend from a wave. Occasionally, a "Raid" will trigger a more traditional base defense level. Also, it's a Rogue-like with an energy system. You use resources to give your team the stamina to play a level or do a thing and if you lose, you build towards permanent buffs like the Castle (or like the other mode I have literally never tried once with the Seaborne).

Yeah, that's sort of what I picked up but it was just so overwhelming. I was poking around the Arknights reddit and saw someone posted this so I'll have to check it out later and see if it's any good as a guide https://youtu.be/J-lIyHxSsqg?si=5PGU9T9zDb8lbwRS
Honestly worse case if I can't figure it out it's probably not the end of the world if I skip it. I've been skipping those roguelike modes due to lack of time and interest up till now :P
That's the video I've been using, but it's still such a slog of an event. It's almost temping to setup an auto-clicker of some kind to get through the beginning; the video premise is basically just doing the minimum amount possible until your base gets invaded then quit. Use the small amount of pity points to slowly unlock all the nodes that let you start with resources. Use those starting resources to build your base a couple blocks at a time. Once you have a suitable base, you basically auto-generate enough food to keep your squad fed enough to fend off all the raids with the exact same team of operators, letting you survive until day 12 and the boss shows up and you kill him and win.
But getting those nodes unlocked and slowly building the base is taking forever, just doing a run or two each day, which is the most I can handle of that tedium.

October 6th start. The first season was decent in storytelling but ultimately unimpressive in how it portrayed combat (and nonexistent in characterizing the vast majority of Operators on screen). We'll see if things have improved with this season.
Started playing this a few weeks back. There's that one pinboard mission for "visit a friend's base," so I figured I'd ask here for a friend request. cB557, ID 48219615

I think we need the hash mark and the 4 digit number as well to add you. Mine is Shoeboxjeddy#5661 if you'd like to add me.
Ah, #6641. I just assumed that was what the ID number was for.
No success finding you, I will note that it's weirdly case sensitive, so make sure to double check that in your post (I tried a couple of variants and didn't get anything).

Current CC strategies:
Ah, the boss approaches from this zone.
Texalt deployment
Repeat as necessary.
Wheels' job is just Beach. They're not a lifeguard.
Stated the event last night though, so I guess I'm back?
I'm still playing but I haven't been doing anything particularly interesting. I did get Reed after a bunch of 10 pulls - used up a good chunk of my red crystal thingies.
Wheels was invited to contribute to the 3.5 anniversary stuff!

Wheels vs Monsters.
No seriously, follow Wheels, they do the best Arknights cartoons outside of Yostar.

The end of CC brings us the most hype Wheels animation yet (ever?)
And the anime has started, you all watching?
A playlist of them all in a row if you never knew what I was talking about and didn't want to ask.
