Finished the Abe's Oddysee remaster a few days ago. While it's not perfect, the trade-offs they made to update the game are understandable and the result is a net improvement to what was already a classic. I noped out pretty hard on the 'Alf's Escape' DLC though, multi-tasking puzzles are my kryptonite.
I'd love to jump into the Abe's Exoddus remaster (Soulstorm) but sadly there's no talk of a Switch release. Has anyone tried Munch's Oddysee/Stranger's Wrath?
Reggie certainly didn't stop sucking when he went to Gamestop and was part of the people arguing that Gamestop stores were essential business during the zenith of the coronavirus lockdowns.
He didnt work for gamestop in any managerial capacity they put him in a PR friendly postion that he left after doing literally nothing
I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.
My best friend worked at Nintendo of America for a brief time and, yeah, he had some stories about Reggie Fils-Aimé.
From the sounds of it, he's an angry business man.
Big surprise!
I worked at Nintendo of America for a time, which is why I bring it up relatively often. Working there sucked, even more than the same job at other places.
I mean, most companies treated their temps like minimum wage easily replaceable drones, but Nintendo went out if their way to make sure we knew that we did not work for Nintendo, we did not matter, and we could not be trusted. Nintendo chaining the 3ds to ladies during the era of 'booth babes' at e3 was them going above and beyond in showing how little they trusted the press and how little they cared about the dignity of the women. They trusted/cared about their testers even less, on a daily basis.
I didn't buy Nintendo products for almost a decade due to how much I hated it there.

The first one is also a game about British racism towards the Japanese at the turn out the 2oth century and how governmental greed cowardice in the face of colonialism ruined japan
So expect gamers to be very normal about it

Really glad I only got up to the start of case 2 in my LP watch of the first game, the AA shaped hole in my heart is ready to be filled.

the trailer had a couple clips that made it clear they're not doing anything weird to try and bury that theme, too
the prosecutor's little pull quote in his introduction is him just saying a random racist thing
JRPG with uniquely touch-screen controls and highly-stylized art plus accompanying music, so pretty niche.

Been playing monster hunter
It's shocking to me that not only are people allowed to capture targets in games they didn't start, but that they actually do it, like all the time

I played a quest where someone put down a trap but the monster ran away. The quest owner started spamming the NO sticker, but the other player ignored them and captured the monster anyway.

Historically there has almost always been some variation in whether you want to capture or carve, but the information was usually in official guides and such
Rise does one really nice thing which is put all of the drop rates, damage zones, weaknesses, status resistances, etc in game in the Hunters Notes
Capturing generally seems like a worse option in most cases at least currently though, between the relatively easy availability of Dango Carver and the lack of Capture Master skill.
That said, knowing when to capture now is trivially easy and it can be a way to end a precarious hunt early for sake of safety.

Capture Master is also on a chestpiece which you get from farming Barioth and Rajang in the arena. So...pretty easy to miss all around.
In the long run, the rare items are inevitably going to be the ones you need to spend the most time farming, so I do feel like capturing with Capture Master (and maybe even without it) is the better option the overwhelming majority of the time. The only monster I can think of where it's straight-up wrong to capture it is Nargacuga.

which is funny because I had to give up hunting Nargacuga in co-op altogether because people would not stop fucking capturing them no matter how many times I asked them not to

it doesn't help that we're coming off of World, in which there was no difference between the Capture and Carve loot tables, along with a very accessible capture master skill, so everyone who spent time there has all the culture memory

Just play the game with the better music.
Capturing is like, always the right move though
except if you need a part that's carve only
It's actually usually not! You get one less guaranteed drop and several parts that you need a lot of can't be gotten from capturing.
The super duper rare drops are a bit more common when capturing (like, 4% instead of 2% though) but that's it.
Unfortunately in World you would have been right and Rise does nothing to disabuse returning players of the idea.
Nope not always! And that's not your call to make when you're joining someone else's game

capture master is on edel gloves, and I think it's technically in the final bosses 5 piece sets but eh.
I still think Carpturing is probably a bit worse than Carving in Rise, but that's good to know

Its initial sales in Japan were so poor that retailers started discounting it almost immediately
I believe this caused English-language forumites to coin the term "price collapse" to refer to such situations
