I love Blaseball dearly, but this might not be the best time to dive in. This week has some rules that are chaotic even by Blaseball standards.
At the conclusion of this week, the game's going on hiatus for a while, and will come back retooled. That might be a better time to get started, honestly.
Yah, far as seasons go, this is just a little too much chaos based on what's come before. I only just cracked 100K today. Last week this time I was around 250K. I really hope this ruleset doesn't carry forward.

It won't
The devs have said this season is an "epilogue," and that the game will have a bit of a soft reset during the extended siesta
Our contractors at Arthropod Digital have sent me the first draft for our new introductory animation to be shown on all office TVs between announcements.
Please find attached their work to this mail.
They said from the pitch, it was unclear how many claws would best represent our company. We have a week to bring our feedback to them before they send an invoice to our finance team.

Thank you for helping route the excess Crab Fuel™️ to the art department! We've got some good news and bad news. The bad news is that we ran out of empty Infernal Vermillion ink cartridges, and the overflow has left left the art cave submurged under about 30 feet of Crab Fuel™️. The art crabs have split off into factions, using their desks as improvised boats to navigate the caffeinated waters, and are now committing random acts of piracy.
The good news: This whole floor is completely watertight! Great job, maintenance!
Thanks,
GFBeach

PS: Secondary good news: tricorner pirate hats look downright snappy on crabs.
Great news! The EVERYTHING bagel wearing a Crab™️ LLC Sapiens-Friendly Wearable Chitinous Armor Product ® Mk. III prototype, named Poppy, has been located! As you may have guessed, Poppy has also learned to access and use my email account; how they can use email without a computer or phone has yet to be determined.
Both teams are running out their worst pitchers for game 6, so there's a solid chance that both teams get wins again and we go to game 7 of the best-of-5 with the series even at 4-4. What a splort.

It's not a best of 5 this season, they changed the postseason to simply be 3 wins. With both Tigers series being 6 game minimums so far if they advance I hope y'all are ready for some night games.
But of course both teams having three wins breaks the game. Whoops.
Garages make it to their 2nd playoffs only to find their ancient rivals the Sunbeams standing alone, buffed to hell and back with 4th strike, walk on 3 balls, and Base Instincts. Time to do what we do best: Fight Gods.

As if the Beams weren't busy enough winning the league, the Data Witches at Hellmouth Community College did a full analysis on how each team was affected by the weather and handed out some awards. Turns out if the season had been played under neutral weather conditions, the Lift might have finished with single-digit wins - they "won" a bunch of games by allowing their opponent to score 10+ against them
I am kind of confused about why Blaseball's Grand Siesta for this month also comes with 6h slowmode on the main discord for all channels. That seems bizarrely targeted at trying to eliminate any community for the next month.

It's cause the mod team is burning out and they need a break. Not a 6h slowmode everywhere, 20m is minimum cited, though individual teams might need to negotiate down.
As the head of the keepers explained to us in Garages chat, the server half again doubled in size this week alone (from 20K last Sunday to almost 30k currently) and that in addition other factors has put strain on the keepers when they were already running on fumes. I expect during the siesta we'll see an expansion of their ranks by a couple magnitudes, if only to prevent further burn out. But the vetting process takes time, and there needs to be recovery time as well, especially since being a keeper is a volunteer position.
It's not a perfect solution, but it's the best one available to them for now that doesn't involve letting the communities run wild. I empathize, but I also think they could have started the expansion process earlier. I've been a mod on servers with a fraction of the people and the mod team was just as large as the keepers are currently, if not larger. I do expect also part of it is now having the break and getting the chance to get the perspective "holy shit only 14 people can't ride herd on 30K" but it feels like something that could've been IDed and in the works sooner.

So the election on the Sun card bugged, because it says that the Wings won it with 0% of the vote and that they were the highest bidders, and I know for a fact that the Sunbeams were very specifically voting ONLY for that card.
Election results, the Book has been Closed, Defaced, and Eaten.
New rules on a new page in The Book:
There are rules for all of the Book results, but only the ones selected are revealed and green. Maybe we'll be changing that every season, or the end of an Era? The unselected options have very little info, for example Bury had something to do with the Hall of Flame, Shred would have added some kind of Rivalries and Alliances systems, etc. (Personally I was hoping for Shred and Freeze)
Also everyone got a single Arcana, XIII (Death) went to Kansas City. No idea what they do yet.

Eat and Burn are speculated to win, not sure what the third will be.
