early Peanuts was dark.
Schulz grappled with a lot of stuff in his life and it shows.

That Skill vs Luck comic is fuckin evergreen

It feels like a Calvin and Hobbes comic, honestly.
e: And I know it came first. I just mean the tone that C&H consistently hit is more in line with that comic.
I recommend everyone read the first few years of the Peanuts comic. It's really fucking good, a classic, and it has almost none of the tropes that made it famous.
Like the comic where someone is worried that Charlie Brown looks super fuckin depressed then realizes he's napping.

I just looked it up, and this comic would have honestly done me a world of good in middle school. I was an inwardly happy and content kid, but I apparently have a resting face like the sad sniper from Saving Private Ryan. I got pulled into a whole lot of offices to make sure I wasn't depressed.

I initially read this as "orifices".
Sure is one way to cheer up a middle schood boy.
I tremendously appreciate their insistence on ignoring the existence of Jakku and saying that this is just more Tatooine. Homogeneous Monoclimate planets are boring enough without having two that are indistinguishable from each other because Abrams couldn't come up with a story better than "A New Hope happens again".
Realizing lately that I don't really trust or respect basically any of the moderators here. So, good luck with life, friends! Hit me up on Twitter @DesertLeviathan

...Wait it was supposed to be a separate planet? Shows how much I was paying attention I guess.

She's not lucy, I don't remember her name though. This is from the era where Snoopy wasn't even Charlie Brown's dog.
EDIT: Apparently it's patty
EDIT2: I am telling you, these comics are brilliant
