Daily Hit: Fran USB? Imperil Ice and party QC2. Forget which one this is.
That's her first one. I remember when it was complete garbage, because she had no other ice stuff, and neither did anyone else in realm. Now she has ice chains, other ice SBs, LMR support, machinist...
uhh...daily hit again? Zell BSB lol. Crit Fix 50%.
edit: man now I wish I had a FFVIII Fire team. Irvine with Imperils and QC, Zell with Crit Fix and Squall doing Squall things. Hell throw Seifer in there too.
I wonder how doable Lahabrea would be if I went for a full mage team without an Awakening, and focused on the crystal and Papalymo's OSB to break rages. I would have more room for magic-specific buffs, and no need to carry crit stuff that applies to one character only.

The fight was very clutch with a magic team including Alph AASB, I can't imagine doing it without to be honest.

I did wrath and run on titan to claim my 1 mythril. Events are silly.
Why is the XIV dream harder than the torment? Ugh.
you know, they wouldn't need to keep making new legally-distinct 6-star skills if they would just allow us the opportunity to pick up multiple copies of 6-star skills, like they did with the record dive ones.
Like, this new Monk skill is nice, but it's pretty obviously just a several-months-late second option for teams who only have Monks for Fire or Earth. Wouldn't need this if we could just get another copy of Ironfist Earth.
Also, no lightning component? I know that we only have like, Prishe and Raijin as Lightning Monk options, but they're still there.

I imagine it's so they can make an ice/lightning one later on.
I used my auto Quartz team for its fight, then auto Behemoth King for all the other fights, including farming Ixion. Elarra Lenna goes Glint+, AASB, spam R5 Hastega, and that's good enough.
My main thing with the abilities is that they need to make HAs not count towards the cap, or have a separate category, because that's going to get fucking absurd.
So I blew another ticket on FFXIV before deciding to actually check the available relics to see if I was just throwing them away. Turns out I was, lol.
The schedule for FFXIV new stuff is so out of wack that Ysayle’s and Papalymo’s Awakenings don’t even exist on the current realm banner for XIV. Alphinaud’s does, and so does his first Sync, but the way that that realm almost never gets new stuff outside of festivals has caused that banner to be super weird and really not worth the tickets yet, lol.
It wasn’t a total loss. I got Thancred’s better BSB, and Ysayle’s USB, but those are on the lens shop. Will be fun to try out in other teams, tho.
I have finally beaten Dreambreaker Cerebus. It took getting the Historia Crystal to level 99 to finally get me through phase 3, and required some precise healer-SB management (i.e. do not USB heal before a gravity hit).
The amount of resources required for this fight (as with all Dreambreakers) was just ludicrous. I used a Realm Chain, 1 Sync, 4 Awakenings, 4 glints (one of which was Selphie's G+ which I can't see doing this without), 3 Hero Abilities (Squall/Rinoa/Selphie, again can't see doing this without Selphie HA), 6 USBs (including two bUSBs which were really useful for rage break) and probably another 4 LMRs but I'm tired of counting.
VIII is by far my most stacked realm so I'm not exactly coming away from this feeling like I can beat the other Dreambreakers. I managed to finish a 54s clear so there's still plenty of time rewards left but that will have to wait for a ton of power creep.
But hooray! Now I have a costume for Zell. Who I never use. Woo.
I did it without Selphie's GSB+. And it hurt. Tbh, this fight is tough for:
Cerberus Triple. That's a lot of damage in a short span of time so you can't really depend on Last Stand and Regenga to cover for you. Edit: this is why Quistis and Selphie's barriers shine on this fight.
Bad SB generation. Due to the above, you have bad bar generation during phase 1 which has a relatively tight timer (23 secs to eject)
Odin Insta Rage 3 mechanics. You have to either blast him fast at the start of phase 3 or have a reliable way to break rage 3 or you won't get far.
Add to that his Nulfrost making going ice more tougher than usual and it's quite a challenge.

I've been looking at this one for a bit too, please go into detail. This one seems especially bad because you either have to use no ice at all or really stack on ice including imperils. I was looking at a clear with Ulti/Rinoa/Fujin, but it was using Rinoa's earth soulbreaks while I only have Ice which gets gimped by the dampens.
Finally got a win vs Cerberus today, after poking at it a couple times a day for most of the week. It's a tough fight, between the extremely quick phase 1 eject, Ice turning to garbage, the extremely tanky rage 3 in phase 3 that you will have to break multiple times, and the extreme damage output particularly at the start of phase 3.
My Rinoa is super stacked (ice Sync, ice AASB, earth AASB). Had to leave Squall AASB on the bench because he just was not doing enough damage, since I couldn't really afford to buff him at all. Kiros USB is super MVP, because he makes the whole party go fast while adding lots of hit count and doing nontrivial damage.
Comedy: I put Rinoa into Ability Berserk before going into phase 3. For most of the phase, she was durdling around with like 3k-4k damage per hit, but then right at the end 22k hits materialized out of nowhere :X

My team was indeed a "no ice" team. Details:
Irvine CSB, G+, USB2. He brought Burnt Offering and Full Break (for my DPSers in phase 3). Back row but it may have been better for him to be in the front for fast act.
Rinoa fastzap glint, earth bUSB, earth AASB2, OSB. Brought Chain Stoneja and her HA
Squall of fire: SASB2, AASB2, bUSB. Brought 6* fire spellblade and HA, has fastact LMR
Selphie: G+, AASB, USB1&2. Brought HA and Curada
Raijin AASB, USB, OSB. Brought Omega Drive and lightning Monk 6*.
FF VIII Historia Crystal (level 99)
Selphie had DMT, Irvine had Ace Striker, others had DPS record materias
Long write-up under the spoiler
Phase 1:
- Irvine hits burnt offering until he can CSB, then Historia Crystal, then heal (see below)
- Rinoa Chain Stonejas until she can AASB
- Squall uses whatever until he can AASB, then DPS
- Raijin uses Omega Drive until he can USB, then lightning monk
- Selphie goes G+, Curada, Dance, USB1, Curada, Dance.
- You'll probably need Irvine to RW Heal near the end of that Selphie sequence - ideally you time it to avoid a land stand proc
I transitioned to Phase 2 around the end of that Selphie sequence (it may have taken another Curada or so). She needs the ability to cast her USB2 early in Phase 2 which is why I use RW heal in phase 1.
Phase 2:
- Irvine keeps offering going, recast CSB when required. Don't pop USB until after the second CSB as you'll be behind on meter due to RW and crystal calls.
- Rinoa will keep DPSing whether you like it or not (ability berserks is weird). Once that wears off go G+ then bUSB.
- Squall keeps DPSing - his AASB should last until almost the end of Phase 2. Cast his bUSB when AASB is done but you shouldn't need more than one brave cycle.
- Raijin builds meter until he can use his AASB. You'll need the crit dmg boost early in phase 3 so don't pop it too early, and he's not really a big DPS guy here anyways.
- Selphie need to wait until after the tail lash, then needs to pop her USB2 for the Astra. This is the one and only time you'll need USB2 - it's AASB and USB1 from here on out.
- When Selphie has enough meter go into her AASB, though make sure you don't time it right before a gravity effect. Then dance dance revolution until Phase 3 (she might have recast USB1 before the end of the phase cant' recall).
- Do NOT recast historia crystal until you're basically at the end of phase 2. You need the cap-breaking for phase 3.
Phase 3:
- Irvine needs to hit Squall with full break first thing he can. Then hit Raijin. Then go into heal support mode (see below)
- Squall needs to go Sync once he's got full break. His SASB2 is finicky but in general I go CMD2, CMD1, CMD1, CMD2 repeat. If his sync runs out go back into bUSB but you should be close to done if/when this happens.
- Rinoa DPS with her bUSB. Recast bUSB when she can and is at zero brave stacks - I think it's better than using her OSB.
- Raijin call historia crystal then DPS, then recast USB
- Selphie keep dancing, recasting USB1 when necessary.
- Healing note: Cerebus hits you lots so you'll build plenty of meter. Whenever your team is low and Selphie doesn't have a USB up have Irvine delay to use one of the RW heals - you should have two going into phase 3.
That's it. It's really hard. It may be possible to swap in Laguna for Raijin and use ice Squall/Rinoa but I think it would be really hard unless you have Laguna AASB2.
IMHO tho there's an argument for using tickets for my missing Gen 2 chains (magic water and anything earth) I'd rather save my tickets for new toys on Realms that need help. Aka XI, XIV and in my case III.
Quetz and BK multiplayer are both very reasonable, as opposed to some of the other recent bullshit. If nothing else, it's easy to form a coherent team, since everyone should agree on the element and physical vs magical.
I managed to dig up some willpower to beat 2 more elements of D.Odin (for a total of 4) and decided to roll on 2 discounted realm banners as a reward
aaannnd got dupes
Gonna take this as a hint to save up tomorrow's free tickets for the next realm/elemental refresh
Minor gripe: if they merged both focus earth banners together into one maybe I would have been more compelled to roll on it >:[
Because I’m way too impatient to even ask if o should do this, I went and spent my 2 new tickets. Not on XIV; the stuff I need doesn’t even exist there for the most part yet (haha), but on Water, and then earth.
In Water, I got a dupe Quina Awakening (I guess for the chase attack) Enwater LMR for Onion, and Strago’s Chain! I was hoping for his or GogoV’s Magic Water chain, so I consider this a big success. I’m thinking as well that if I use his LM2 for lucky heals, my magic water team can afford to go with 4 DPS (such that I can use my 3 Water Awakenings). And if I ever feel like using Onion in the team, I now have a way to actually stack an Enwater with his Glint+.
For Earth, I got some dupes, an Enearth LMR for Galuf (one day I’ll have a reason to use him for Earth), and Onion’s magic Awakening. This has more potential as Water than as Earth, since Onion can only get Enwater, but it’s a neat little toy. Also, it’s a potential replacement for Forbidden Wisdom, depending on the team. It trades the Haste and ACM effects (things Elarra can handle) for being a DPS Awakening.
All in all, good result. Nothing mind-blowing, but some stuff I wanted. No Enna Kros Awakening, though.
edit:
Water-weak Odin is nearly a sub-30 with the new water team. That's a good sign. Ifrit should hopefully be less of a PITA, too. I just wish there were more Water usesrs in FFVI, but I can always go for a Fire team with Locke's chain.
