I'm ready for another Ghostbusters trailer, or for them to just go ahead and release the movie.

Or release the entire movie in a series of trailers.

Damn, they're hard core. Not only are they so close to the forest fire that they should be cooked but aren't even coughing or breaking a sweat.

    #notmyghostbusters

For real though that looks like shit, terrible CGI. Seems to be aping the eggs on the counter scene but doing a bad job of it, the footage looks too clean and average like a typical 2020s comedy about three guys in Vegas, and the blatant product placement. Like not even subtle, just rows of product placement in what looks like a very fake supermarket.

    Unimpressed so far.

Looks like an utterly standard Wal-Mart to me, though the hellspawn are usually children and thus you aren't allowed to eat them. The only weird part is the near-total lack of mouth-breathers pointing their infection ports at you at every chance.

So is this supposed to be the same Ghostbusters movie with the kids that was advertised pre-COVID? Or is this supposed to be something else?

Same one. Rudd appears in the first trailer as well, in this get up, just as he is about to get attacked by a terror dog while in his car, which is probably how this scene will end, as by the looks of it he is at the store during the night (no other customers).

It's hard to tell from the very small sampling in the trailer, but it seems Ackles will fit in really smoothly as Batman.

Trailer for the new Mamoru Hosoda film:

I'd like to see more of this guy's work. I only ever saw The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, and that was by accident because I thought I was getting the Obayashi film.

He's got a good growly voice for it at the very least.

So, wait, if they're mini Stay-Pufts, doesn't that mean Gozer has to be coming back?

So, wait, if they're mini Stay-Pufts, doesn't that mean Gozer has to be coming back?

    The game has
Gozer come back temporarily and the story is built around deities like Gozer, and Aykroyd has referred to it as the third film, so potentially it's borrowing from that a little.

Art looks gorgeous, but I categorically cannot muster the slightest interest in anime where the story is some online game crap. I don't care how much they dramatize it with flashy scenes, if it's all just a game environment then it's all zero impact for me.

At least with the likes of the Tron movies, there's an actual personal stake in the situation. Heck, I think even the old Digimon series had crossover like that, making it inherently infinitely more interesting than kids driving around some avatars online.

I liked the first and only season of sword art online because it did have stakes, and I liked that him and love interest got married in the real world when they got out, and it had a happy ending and neither of them was stupid enough to ever put on one of those murder vr headsets ever again

not epic high art, but a short anime with a solid beginning middle and end that added stakes to the "you're in a game" setting

Yeah, if the premise at least involves being in the game, then I can get into it. But if it's just a massive overdramatization of people sitting at computer screens (or with headsets or whatever) just playing a game, then it's still just a game.
