I think the worst thing about that story is just how much it shows that Ken Williams is a mark.
Like, it is super common for people who have been swindled to not believe that the con man actually did any bamboozling. Just too naive and trusting (I say this as a naive and trusting person)
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

Even if you shoot the guns out their hands you still have to kill them so don't worry
If you shoot pig fucker's gun he comes at you with a knife. If you disarm the Mexican guy all his dudes light you up. And if you disarm Billy Midnight he pulls another gun and shoots himself. I think, my memory of that one is a but fuzzy on account of trauma from my horse committing suicide during it.

Decided to get back into Slay the Spire, since I never did mess around that much with the Watcher.
Made it to the end of Act I with the ability to dig for relics at rest sites, the golden idol, automatic healing at shops and boss fights, and the egg that automatically upgrades all attack cards you find.
Died to the last little boss slime the round before I'd have finished it off.
From what I've heard of Watch Dogs Legion, as someone who loved the recruitment in AC Brotherhood it sounds like they greatly expanded that then plopped it into an uninteresting open world. I'm curious to try it but not at anywhere near full price.
I also loved Brotherhood, but Legion is unfortunately not scratching that itch. There's a bunch of cool characters you can find, but they all feel pretty much the same to play. I could play my Wiccan news reporter, or 70-year old porn star, but I usually just end up using my generic construction worker since his heavy-duty cargo drone has been the most useful tool I've found.
And the procedurally generated missions they create for them are just the worst. You've got the two characters vaguely talking at each other about a random problem, before they send you to a non-descript location to steal/destroy a random macguffin.
I'll put a few more hours in to see if the main story quests get any better, but I think I'm done putting any effort into the whole 'play as anyone' part, which was sadly the part I was most interested in.

Procedurally generated characters that have like... One mechanically unique thing about them is not what I want out of Watch Dogs
It's more at home in something like State of Decay than a narrative driven experience

I think its an idea that could work, but the characters would need a lot more differentiation between them. Something more like Heat Signature, where a different character ends up with a totally different playstyle.
My first two characters were a marathon-running soccer star and a white-hat hacker. If that meant the first one had her own skill tree of better melee combat moves, or could run around more like an AC character, that'd be great. And if my hacker had access to more of the traditional WD toys, or the ability to break through doors others couldn't, I'd be all over that.
But it just meant that she could take a few more punches, and he could hack things from a little bit further away.

See I still don't want that in a narrative game because I want characters
That would be rad if they turned it into some kind of run based thing, but it feels fundamentally incompatible with the game as is

Yeah it definitely suffers from not having a well-characterized lead. Maybe if they had a defined main character in addition to all the random people it'd work better.
They'd also need to speed up the way you get more people if it were more run based. As it is now, it takes way too long. If you want somebody with a specific weapon or ability, first you need to randomly scan people until you find one. Then you need to convince them to trust DedSec by following them or their friends around and helping them out when an enemy hassles them. Then, once they'll talk to you, you have to go a do a mission for them to get them to join up.

I cannot imagine the mind that played one of the first two Watch Underscore Dogs, and upon scanning some random goon with their one line of background, and thought "Oh man, I want to play as them"
EDIT: Actually I do understand the urge to play as anybody but Aiden Pierce, but Marcus was cool

The idea that revolutions must be the collective effort of the people and not the work of charismatic individuals is a cool theme for a game. Whether a AAA game by Ubisoft is the best vehicle to explore that idea is a different question.
To be honest, I’m still tempted to play it. I miss London - and traveling in general - terribly and would love to lose myself for a few days playing the “Did they model my favorite spots?” game.
On a more positive note, Legion has some of the best clothing options in an open world game I've ever seen. The best part is a lot of items have multiple options for wearing them zipped up or open, and with hoods up and down. Half the reason I want to recruit people is just to dress them up!

Oh good!
I was afraid for my horse too because I thought it might get hit by the train in the Billy Midnight confrontation
Now I just want to find where the dude that gave me this mission is now

Right, I actually really did forget for a second this aspect of being a mark.
That part of acknowledging that the conman was in fact a shyster means admitting that your dumb ass got got.
Just look at how many Theranos investors are still insisting it was real, despite literally all evidence to the contrary.

Good news everyone, Elden ring is real
This will be here until I receive an apology or Weedlordvegeta get any consequences for being a bully
Between that and the next animated Mystery Skulls (maybe) tomorrow might be a pretty good day.
Just gimme a spear and some cheap armour to hold the line with.

Well it's not quite a mop and it's not quite a puppet.
So to answer your question, I don't know.

Any other standout horror? Soma was the last one I really loved, good combo of spooky and existential.

I would hope so with how long they let that collection of whine age.
Never go into a cool industry.

Outstar quite famously worked on Witcher 3, for anyone having trouble decoding that. She works for White Wolf now, on community.
