Looks like this might finally be over.

NEW: GSA has informed president-elect Joe Biden the administration is ready to begin the formal transition process, according to a letter from administrator Emily Murphy sent Monday afternoon and obtained by CNN.

Jeff Zeleny is a Washington Correspondent for CNN.

And all it took to get her to do her job as required by law was getting the Secretaries of State in specific States to notarize what everyone knew was apparent all along, and weekslong shaming. The system... can be forced to work eventually

Trump just tweeted vaguely and whinily condoning Murphy finally starting the transition and saying he's directed his people to cooperate.

... Mind, he's also insisting he won the election at the same time, but.

    She’s about to be fired.

Still doubt Trump concedes, though it’d be best for the country if he does. Probably why he won’t too.

Trump just tweeted that he ordered it.

Or rather, given the lack of typos and randomly CAPITALIZED WORDS, someone else tweeted from Trump's account that he ordered it.

Before we get too excited, while she is releasing the money, it seems she hasn't gone through with the official ascertainment yet. It's a step in the right direction, but I'm sure there are more obstacles and disruptions that her dragging her feet will needlessly cause.

    https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/527265-michigan-ag-warns-on-election-fraud-claims-a-false-claim-of-criminal

Dana Nessel (Michigan AG) continues to give no fucks.
I can confirm that Patrick Colbeck has never made a complaint of election fraud to the MIchigan Dept of Attorney General. If he had, we would have fully investigated said claim.

Colbeck’s assertions aside, intentionally making a false claim of criminal activity to law enforcement is itself a crime. It’s been my experience that is often the reason certain reports are not made.

Think she's kidding? Fuck around and find out.

And I hate having to commend Romney for anything, but for everything else about him, he supported impeachment, and he marched with BLM this summer. He has, annoyingly, earned his footnote.

He didn't risk all that much. He tried kissing the ring to get picked for Secretary of State and when that didn't work he retreated to running for Senate in a state where he was already extremely popular and the president wasn't.

Disagree. He lost his niece, for staters. And just because he knew he would still have a job he could just as well said nothing as condemning as he did about Trump or hold his vote.

Imho he (sadly) is one of more human and reasonable republicans that i would deem fit for president.

Who cares. If she got fired for doing the right thing two weeks ago she'd be a media darling and get offered a hundred jobs either with the administration or wherever the ghouls behind the Lincoln project end up.

She did this shit to herself.

I wonder if they were waiting on Michigan, or if it's just a coincidence.

I'm guessing it's not a coincidence. With Michigan and Georgia certified, and no possibility of recount in Arizona, I think Biden is at 270, even if one thinks the challenges in PA, WI, and NV have potential merit. At that point, one could take Murphy to court for not doing her legally prescribed duty.

I suppose the scariest part of all this is that if Trump had done the bare minimum, or just not actively prevented the CDC and USPS from trying to fight the pandemic, then he wins in a walk and can dismantle the rest of the government at his leisure.

PA by Wednesday, I think. Trump filed an emergency appeal this afternoon seeking to block PA from certifying then.

PA will be late - 4 counties are running behind. 3 are filing this week and 1 by Monday.

Over 100 CEOs threaten to cut off funds to Georgia GOP if Trump keeps blocking transition: report
More than 100 business leaders who plan to ask the Trump administration to immediately allow the presidential transition to begin have also discussed cutting off donations to Senate Republicans facing runoff elections to force the party's hand.

The executives plan to send a letter on Monday demanding that Emily Murphy, the head of the General Services Administration, stop blocking President-elect Joe Biden's transition team's work, according to The New York Times.
Oops. Play games to try and save GA for the Senate, get fucked when all the money for this run-off goes away.

Like Georgia might not be the tipping point of the Union but for Trump's rampant mishandling of COVID.

The thing is, professionals shouldn't be putting boo hoos in official communiques. If I sent out a letter like that my boss would chew me the fuck out. Let alone one that would knowingly be made public, rather than just sent to someone outside the organization. Subtle digs or passive aggressiveness are generally viewed badly enough, but this was full on oh woe is me. As the head of a Government Administration. Acting in her professional duties.

Meh, all the mealy mouthed, woe-is-me BS in that letter aside, it’s seems pretty clear she’s authorizing the transition funds to Biden. I could give less than a wet fart about the rest of it.

She’ll eventually be gone, either Biden at some point in the future or Trump very soon. Not impossible that he personally said something agreeing with the GSA’s actions or not, it doesn’t matter cause Trump is capricious and has stabbed people in the back after the fact before, and Murphy now has a giant target right on her back that Trump can exploit.

He tweeted immediately after that he authorized it.

It's anyone's guess if that is actually true, or did his normal kneejerk reaction and swept in to take credit.

Time will tell if he actually approved it, or that tweet was a "I don't have any reason to fire that person" sort warning shot.

As many have stated so many times; I really hope we get back to "Government does something that government is supposed to do" not being breaking news before long. It's just all so god awfully stupid.

So Trump isn't conceding but he is saying he called for the signature of the letter.

I want to thank Emily Murphy at GSA for her steadfast dedication and loyalty to our Country. She has been harassed, threatened, and abused – and I do not want to see this happen to her, her family, or employees of GSA. Our case STRONGLY continues, we will keep up the good... fight, and I believe we will prevail! Nevertheless, in the best interest of our Country, I am recommending that Emily and her team do what needs to be done with regard to initial protocols, and have told my team to do the same.

Trump is the soon to be former President of the US.
