I picked up beyond light the other day, it's been like two years since I played but I'm having a pretty good time on my warlock. I saw a few folks mention they are looking for a PC raid group and I would be as well, although I'm current 1205 power so I dunno how close to 1230 I'll really be by Saturday. I uhh, also made it entirely through the campaign without realizing I could detonate my freezes while in the warlock super. I felt very dumb the first time I hit the bumper on my controller on accident.
Stasis Warlock with Monte Carlo and Ahamkara (sp?) still feels real good.
I feel like not having a really good Stasis exotic might be one reason Behemoth still feels a bit lackluster despite all the things the kit has to offer.
Just unlocking Hunter Stasis now, guess I'll see how the other other side lives.
Heart of Inmost Light is your best bet for Titan imo.
Same as Frost-EEs for Hunter.
Lowering cooldowns is the name of the game basically. Also Heart of Inmost Light is always fun for empowered abilities anyway.

Now that Witherhoard is enabled again, everyone do yourselves a favor and try comboing that with Glacier Grenade. Bonus points for having the fragments for more powerful stasis explosions, weapon damage boost from freezing, and grenade regen on crystal destruction enabled.
It's not as fast as one, but it is like having a rocket launcher as your special weapon. Very satisfying and big fuck-off-explosions, and that isn't even touching on the crowd control the grenade induces.
It's absolutely insane in PvE, and I am very curious as to how well one can make it work in PvP.
I assumed the same, but y'know, Bungie. Wasn't sure if I'd have to run the LS again for better rolls or if it opens up all gauntlet exotics or.....etc.

Oh hey, it is the traditional "anybody looking to Raid that isn't in a group" time? I was kind of expecting them to delay the Raid for "insta-gib bosses" hotfix, but maybe the one today does that?
Anyway, if there is anybody on Xbox who is looking to try out the new Raid and doesn't have a crew, and they want to do it Blind (even if not launch weekend), please hit me up. The only raid in D2 I've gotten a full blind run on was Eater, so I'd love to have a shot to put together a team that wants to try and remain blind the whole time. I imagine there are a few folks interested, and I dunno if there has been platform hopping recently. So figured I'd put it out into the ether before trying to hit up the100 or something.
Let's kill (speculated raid boss) together!
I'd be down for a blind run, though I'm only 1200 and the odds of me hitting 1230 anytime soon are slim. But if you end up just needing a sixth body who can follow instructions let me know.

We'll see how things go this first weekend. I think we're trying to put something together for at least some initial encounters this weekend, but I have little confidence we'll make it through the whole thing or anything (and certainly the day 1 Contest modifiers are gonna hurt, so may be a brick wall for even the beginning), so I imagine there will be more runs and such for when power level is a little higher. That, and I hope it's enjoyable enough that we'll have folks rolling through it with at least some regularity.
I did find that I was able to play only one character through the expansion thus far and hit almost 1230, which seems like the whole progression is tuned a little better. Or I just got pretty lucky - normally it would take more than 2 resets to get to this point, or multiple characters. So you may see your power jump pretty quickly!
I was informed by @Peen that the new bow from Variks can roll Swashbuckler which is also a one tap in PvP with a full stack
I am really struggling with the PvP meta so far, but I've always been a proud fan of Auto Rifle metas. The bow thing sounds interesting, but people are playing more at range than they were last season.
That and SBMM. I hate SBMM.

Yes. And given how many of my games have gone, the idea that SBMM is back is ludicrous.
This game needs more skill-based matchmaking so we get less mercy games.
Glory-based matchmaking feels absolutely ridiculous right now. Reviewing recent sessions, I think the fairest a game that I've had has seen Glory swings where the highest player is merely 2500-3000 glory points higher than I am. Our first few games (when our Glory was sub-500) had matches against people in the 4k and 5k ranges. I had one match at like 400ish where four of the players were sub-2000, but the other two were 5300+
It seems like it isn't even pretending anymore. Freelance Survival felt way better in several of the past few seasons, meanwhile this feels the sweatiest it has ever been.
Normal matchmaking also seems a bit broke, in that it can take very long to match compared to recent seasons. They also tuned Mercy to kick in more frequently, which is nice, but tells me they were tweaking some shit that I don't recall getting much mention (but maybe I'm wrong).
Oh, and also unrelated, and instead related to Unrelenting....
Did they announce changes to Unrelenting that I missed as well? The perk feels way less reliable than it used to, but maybe it's some bias on my part. Previously it felt like it damn near guaranteed you hit full health almost instantly. Now it seems to trigger regeneration, but much slower. Last season my Unrelenting Cold Denial felt useful - now it feels like I don't have a perk in that column. But I can't definitively say why.

PVP is just strange right now.
It might just be that it's the beginning of the season (and so everyone is starting from the bottom) and there's no Trials to take those players out of the pool and a ton of people use comp to power level for the raid.
Welp, I screamed into the void that is Bungie Help Forums, since searching for known issues on Unrelenting resulted in nothing. Ideally a fix comes at some point since that gun is one of my workhorses.
Did 3 Empire Hunts last night while also finishing up the first aspect quest and the born in darkness quest line. I'm not sure why I expected the empire hunts to not just be the story missions over again. Oddly I don't think I found either of the fights where you have Darkness Empowerment during the story any harder without it.
Warlock darkness powers with the seeking crystal whatever it's called aspect are massively better than without. Even the nerfed melee feels pretty strong with the seeking thing.
Story-wise:
I feel like Elsie could have eased Ana into all of that a bit more. Like, Eramis is dead already. The Darkness is here, sure, and Xivu Arath is up to mischief, but there are no known threats immediately looming. You could maybe take a day between "Hi I'm totes your sister. Also your grandpa was history's greatest monster." and "Btw I gave your friend over there a paracausal STD at a bonfire picnic but it's cool 'cause we're gonna use it to save the universe."

it's not like she was trying to drop that on her. It just kinda came up. I don't think Elsie really realised it would be a point of contention.

It came up because she invited me/you/us/The Guardian to the lab at the same time Ana was there. Ana's all, "Why is the guardian here?" and Elsie says, "Well, I invited you here because they were coming. See, there's all this Darkness data..."
She might not have expected it to be a big deal but her text when you go see her at camp afterward says she's tried easing Ana into it before in other timelines but that "there's no time" in this one.
Hey all a tip. Don’t collect your crow weekly until you get him to rank 4
It switched to a pinnacle. I actually got rank 4 after completing my 5 hunts (on the 5th) but I didn’t pick it up and sure enough it swapped over for me
That also gives you 2 more powerful from hunts which is great cause that’s 4 a week you can target to your lowest gear slot

What you should in fact do is immediately run recon data hunts until you can level him to lvl 4. It doesn't take that long honestly, you are already 30 out of 80 there just from the season pass. A recon hunt gives you like ~20. Then you are set to go.
If you are power leveling, use the 4 powerful rewards you now have to target weak slots to push you over a hump into the next level.
The accursed Helmet I want is behind these Master/Legend Lost Sectors, and I finally got 1247 but of course today the helmet is behind the 1280. So I tried it, after a few runs got the first room completed and almost did the second, but I'm pretty sure I won't be able to beat it before it just boots me to orbit for being a bitch. The load out I tried actually worked well enough, I'm just not patient enough. It's literally only doable because of top tree nightstalker invis double dodge.

I tried an aux this morning. The controller seems to detect it if I go o to settings devices. I see the headset listed in the controller when it’s plugged in
More seriously, I opted for fancy Steel Series headphones since they pair easily just like a controller. Granted that is more of a long term solution if you chill with us Xbox folks, since it probably ain't cheap.
For those that don't wanna drop a Twitch Prime sub to get Ada's jumpship, it's up as the daily deal for 500 silver. Banshee's also got the Charged Up mod available for those that don't have it, giving you the ability to have an additional stack of Charged With Light.
