What PL are most people finishing the campaign at?
I really want to jump on the Xbox raid tonight but I haven't been able to play all week and I'm busy until 4pm today. I am hoping that I can run the campaign later today, maybe grind a little bit, and be ready for the raid.
Good to know. Is it even possible for me to be raid ready if I have about 4 hours of game time post campaign before the raid starts?
I'm thinking probably not.
More seriously, I opted for fancy Steel Series headphones since they pair easily just like a controller. Granted that is more of a long term solution if you chill with us Xbox folks, since it probably ain't cheap.
Yeah. I’ll probably ask for a sweet headset from my wife for Christmas to make her shopping easier. Or just hint at it a bunch so she gets it
I found a badass pair of super pink headset for my daughters that seem to actually work petty well. I should probably use some shaders to match

No, there is no chance. You need to get to around 1230 light without artifact for the raid this weekend. A friend of mine is participating in the race. To get raid ready, he had to do everything on all three characters the first week and on 2 characters the second week, plus some more on his third character, all to get just 1 character raid ready.
There's 2-3 people in the PC discord interested in trying out the raid today on PC, anyone else? I managed to get up to 1230 without my artifact so I'm ready to rock, just trying to figure out what time.

To be fair, I got one character ready without all those character swaps. There was plenty of time to get a character ready, just not if you're only recently getting the campaign done.
Although "ready" today means a different thing to someone just looking to try it out versus an actual racer.
1230 is the cap today, but come tommorow, those restrictions should be off, and more fun for the general public.

i wish there was a way to make the worlds a higher power level
every time i do stuff that is over my level im like wow this game is substantially more engaging when the enemies dont die in a single hit
doing the 1250 heroic lost sector at 1207 was like, oh this is actually a challenge and makes u engage with the fodder enemies in a way that u would never usually have to do. like the soloing pit of heresy thing. if i could do my patrols with actually threatening mobs it would be so much more fun i dont care if the rewards arent really that much better. im just surprised that theres so little challenging solo pve content

I'm been saying since launch that this game is just way too easy 99% of the time and it makes it less engaging.

yeah i mean its like
i have this charged with light mechanic, increases my damage, but for 99% of my playtime its a total irrelevance because my weapons one shot every single clown enemy free
i dont care about group play i play destiny as a single player game and its just a shame that so little of it is interesting on that basis
I enjoy doing stuff at like 10-20 PL below recommended but much beyond that is just a brutal slog I don't enjoy. The few pieces of purposefully-difficult content Bungie has done (that aren't just going into it below level because you choose to not grind your way above PL, or don't have time to like the raids) are far more into the "brutal slog" category than the "enjoyable challenge" for me so I don't much trust them to implement a "challenging mode" for anything else. I'm thinking, like, the special version of The Corrupted you have to do for...one of the exotic gun quests. I think when I tried to solo that I actually ran out of ammo without having cleared all the trash enemies on the initial bridge because their shields were absurd. I could dump a super into a yellow bar and it wouldn't die. That's well past the point of being fun, for me.
Also bosses are all such bullet sponges - specifically to deal with how easily most things in Destiny are killed - that doing anything with a boss significantly below PL generally ceases to be fun. I don't know how many Nightfalls I eventually gave up on soloing back in pre-Ordeal days because I'd make it up to the boss but it'd take an hour of pouring bullets into the fuckers before they'd finally die. And death reset you back to starting allll over.
I personally don't find being underleveled much fun because mechanics just start breaking. Enemies easily kill you out of your roaming super, you run out of ammo constantly because the trash enemies that exist to refill it are suddenly ammo sinks to themselves, deaths make the run impossible because all the resources you sank into the previous attempt (Super, heavy ammo) stay gone [this mechanic is complete trash], and enemies you are meant to stagger or stun just start becoming unstunnable. It's fairly clear to me that the content is not tested to be beaten at low light levels at all.
like you can technically go into a raid 30-40 light underlevelled but I'm pretty sure without optimal DPS gear bosses are going to be unkillable at that level of damage reduction. I just watched streamers fight the 2nd enemy encounter in the current raid and they are getting to enrage timers- These are the best players in the world with the most tuned load outs possible.

im not saying i want stuff htat is the exact equivalent of being underlevelled in a raid im just saying i am sad there isnt more opt-in hard pve content
and ye the champion / mod system is clowncar stupid and a complete waste of time simon-says bullshit replacement for interesting content but hey its what they did

I think most people agree with you we were just clarifying which amount of under leveled is the sweet spot
Dear Bungie. I will pay you serious bucks if you add a photo mode into the game so I don't have to luck out with a 'tab-in' glitch to get shots like this.

I got to the final third of the Phylaks fight, still in my 1050ish armor, was a fraction of a second too slow on a dodge, and discovered that dying resets you back to the start of the whole boss fight.
The raid cache is fucking cool
After beating the final boss, you can spend your Spoils of Conquest on non-powerful raid gear, you can choose different caches that have different probabilities of different gear slots
New missions are up at Europa as well! And check it's map by Eventide Ruins!
so busy with other stuff but would any of this new stuff be connected to the Europa Eclipsed zone? noticed triumphs connected to that with no zone connected to it as yet.
Holy crap, I took a Patrol at the Ruins (which due to this Eclipsed Zone status has Cruxes floating around and a boosted Stasis Regen buff) and I did a double-take when I saw it was a HEROIC Patrol. Has there been ANY Patrols that've been Heroic before?
Cripes my very first Crucible match after my long absence was a real slugfest but I've still got it bb
The last one standing took a shadowshot to the face to end the match.
Also my heart rate and blood pressure immediately skyrocketed, just like old times.
was that Elimination or Comp? cause either of those being your first dip back into Crucible just seems madness to me. but obviously you hit harder than i do cause damn... well done.

Comp, but I have also played.... a lot of comp.
I will admit that if this is the type of match I'm getting at 0 glory this season is also not looking good for finally getting Unbroken.
Cleared the first encounter without too much trouble. Being underleveled wasn't much of a hinderance here. It's way more doable at low level than in some previous raids we ran on day one.
Second encounter we have mostly figured out, but we're too low on damage right now. On our best run we wiped to the enrage timer.
Honestly I was expecting to fruitlessly bang our heads against the first encounter for an hour or two, then give up due to being way too underleveled. Instead we're actually doing alright. Not sure if we'll be good enough to make further progress, but we're doing better than expected.
As of right now there's two raid chests you can get to solo, assuming they can be reached by all three classes that should give a nice cache of raid spoils every week for players who don't have a group. I'm looking forward to finally getting Anarchy to ease some of the hassle of solo runs in some other content.
Everyone is different. Everyone is special.

It's neat.
This has been our experience, too! Its so good to actually be able to go into a raid the first weekend and not feel like I'm made of wet tissue paper and shooting nerf guns.
Releasing the raid nearly two weeks after launch was a great move.
