But what's the best Metal Gear Moment?

I get that the character receives a lot of (deserved) hate, but A Quiet Exit in MGS5 really got to me and it felt like a weirdly perfect mix of narrative and gameplay design
You're stuck in an almost-hopeless battle against a tank column, being ripped apart by shells and enemy fire, desperately fighting back as best you can

Through it all you're trying to keep Quiet alive, but she's also trying to protect you by throwing supplies out, catching the enemy's attention and sometimes straight-up jumping in front of a bullet for you

And then the final cutscene hits, and the mission that's felt hopeless all along really is hopeless, and a character that's maybe been your support for dozens of real-time hours is gone forever.

I don't think it's too ridiculous to say that Quiet's arc felt like the real plot in 5 to me.

So I started playing some Fortnite again

And I booted into a 4 player game, intending to try for the Mandalorian challenges. I got put into a team with 3 people instead of 4 and one of those people was a kid who sounded 12 who kept saying "Fuck this! Fuck that guy! Fuck you, bitch!" But was very polite about tagging useful items for us and stuff at the same time. Good to know the age group hasn't changed much.

I felt like I was already pushing it with a three embed post

but also, frankly, more importantly (and please do not forward this note to Heather Anne Campbell) I found the use of Michael Cera as the punchline of that otherwise solid tweet to be a bit too 2010, a little pedestrian. I would have included it if it was Timothée Chalamet

I feel like an MGS film has a strong chance of becoming a case study in smoothing off all the interesting edges of a franchise to make it fit a genre trope-shaped hole

Seems a little Cold Reading to me. Unless I can be bottom right and top left at the same time.

I used to get asked if I was a stoner all the time and also was basically incapable of getting any homework done and told I was wasting my potential. But i would sleepwalk to an A on all the tests and read 400 page novels in elementary school.

I never identify with depression though. I do find it hard to get started doing things but I don't feel sad. Can you be depressed if you aren't sad?

And what the hell does cryptid mean? Am I a bigfoot?

and I wonder about my neighbors even though I don't have them

Who wants to see some Bioware Drama?

Mark Darrah and Casey Hudson are leaving Bioware. A voice actor who voiced "Anders" in dragon age is apparently also a dick and gets roasted in this thread by Darrah. I didn't play Dragon Age, but I think people didn't like Anders? I dunno. Click the tweet for the full thread.
