Yeah, I'm just really disappointed. I'd seen a couple of negative reviews and quite a few positive. I guess I was hoping angry people on the internet were wrong.
The more I think about it the more I'm leaning toward a Mac, but I'm not entirely sure. I did some looking and I guess you can still install Windows and run it no problem, so that solves most of my gaming concerns. I don't even need anything super powerful - I don't play anything super graphically intense or stream, so really the "mid range" GPU they're made with isn't a major concern, and I'm at the point where tinkering with hardware is more of a pain in the ass than it is fun. I just want something that works, that I can do my work on, and that I can sometimes play strategy games on, and I think the 27" Macs can do that.
My next computer will probably be a Mac Mini. At this point in my life, I basically just want a computer that works, and if it doesn't work I want to be able to take it back to the store and say "Hey, this stopped working. Please assist me in getting a working computer again." I'm already into the Apple ecosystem. First it was an iPad, then it was an iPhone, and then an Apple Watch, so I figure I might as well go all the way. And I'd get the Mini because I don't really need much power (basically, just games like CK3 and Hearthstone), and my iPad basically handles everything that I want to do in a laptop, so. . . yeah.

Man imagine dying and sitting around in hell and feeling every time some idiot uses your femur to roll a critical fail seduction attempt on a make believe elf bar maid.
Imagine knowing that you can make sure every one of those rolls is a 1.
maybe I'm an outlier but I never cared so much about the material of the dice and its look as much as the font and illustrations of the numbers
That's why I love q-workshop, I feel like their stuff is more unique than "another standard d20 but this one has gold flakes in it"
Oh I also hate numbers maybe that's it
Oooooh, give me some dice without numbers on them blocking my view of the pretty bits inside the dice. One of my favorite sets has bits of moss and copper flakes inside and they're awesome! My other favorite set has thin black swirls of ink with holographic glitter spread throughout. If they didn't have numbers I could see it all even better!!

at some point, you need to accept that you don't actually want dice, you want pretty rocks, "costume jewelry", etc etc.

I went ahead and ordered the 27" from Costco. It was delivered today. I'm letting it run setup and updates to the OS right now and I'll play with it more tomorrow. Good gravy is it nice to get something that just fucking WORKS! And! It'll work well with my new job because they're providing me with a MacBook Pro. I'll have to slowly shift my phone and watch back to Apple, but that's doable over the next year easy enough.

the current mac mini is really good! Probably the best computer you can get at that price point!

Yeah. I don’t need a new computer yet - my laptop is aging but still does everything I need/want it to do. But it was the release of the M1 chip on the Mini that led me to my current plan. At this point, I expect that I’ll be waiting for the M2 at least, barring my laptop suddenly dying.
But OMG it’s so cute and I want it now.

My faith in the most deliberately ridiculous video game console ever - the Playdate - has been rewarded, with an update video scheduled for June 8th, 09:00 PDT.
Some new details were already released in the latest e-mail newsletter.
- The price will be US$179.
- The number of season 1 games has been doubled to 24
- Internal storage has been doubled to 4GB
They also were very clear that "pre-orders won't happen right after the video."
Oh, Aberlour is my "everyday" whisky that I always return to, I always keep a bottle of it at home and have been drinking it for 10 years or so.
And apparently I have been pronouncing it wrong the whole time.
You either don't drink much or it's a really big bottle.
If they sold single malts in a Nebuchadnezzar (15L) or Solomon/Melchior (18L) size I'd probably have triggered death by scotch sometime in my early 20s.

Yeah well if they sold it by the cask, it would probably be a good investment. Now that I live in a house and actually have space for it, that is.

Dice are made specifically for throwing! That's the best part! I just don't wanna have to do math after and ruin the moment!

Which isn't that important in the grand scheme of things but still sucks ass
So to cheer myself up I splashed out on a 25 year Glenfarclas. As soon as I'm feeling better I'm going to town on that bottle
I'm not big on Speysides as a whole, but Glenfarclas 12 and Dalwhinnie 15 are always welcome in my cabinet.
