awwww jeez, in a mission already filled with feels a little detail REALLY got me
Beginning of Act 2 spoilers, big spoilers for act 1:
Right before the mission with the scavs, my character, who's a nomad with lots of mechanic skills, saw jackie's bike, thought it was awesome, but had a whole lot of opinions about his maintenance regime, and parts that he should swap out, starting with the exhaust. Jackie was just like, okaaay, okaaay, jeez.
When you open up his garage, V looks at his bike and momentarily chokes up when she notices that he changed out the exhaust on his bike to what she said he should be using.
;_;
A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.
So, I'm looking at finally buying a car in the game. So far I think the biggest problem I have with the starter car is the brakes. Are there any good cars worth buying that can actually stop worth a damn?
I suggest you go for a motorcycle. The Yaiba Kusanagi CT3-H handles quite well and is available pretty early on. Motorcycles as a whole are great in this game. The second best thing is that they're slim profile lets you squeeze by cars and traffic jams. The best thing is that in the third person driving camera you see whatever fashion choices you've made. That is also the worst thing about them.

I didn't mention that line and didn't get that response. Insane how much detail is in this game.
I have the cyberware that lets me use smart weapons to their fullest. @ me if you can explain how these things work exactly and you don't mind playing teacher, because I see guys on YouTube just firing into the air and the bullets are zipping around corners. Meanwhile, I've got this shotgun that I still need to aim relatively center mass or it does no damage. I see all the impact dots on the target, is there a way to influence which ones my shots will zip to? Like, if I aim up, will they be more likely to go for the head, or does the shotgun just always give a wide spread across the entire body? If somebody is up close, I can filet them pretty good, but I could do that with any old shotgun, I was hoping for a little more Annie Oakley here.
Am I missing something that indicates enemy level? I decided to pursue the Delamain quest quite quickly and going to that area opened up a quest to kill some Valentino thug, but it took a good 20 shots with a shotgun at close range to down one of the thugs who fortunately did not fire back at me behind a pillar, then his friend one-shotted me.

Immediately following up on this, once again big act 1 spoilers...
Going to Jackie's funeral, and then following that up with going to see the doll and basically ending up having like a therapy session about V's fears of death and how at least Jackie has people left to mourn him, but you won't have anyone.
Also, found out what (female) V's name actually is! But V seems very uncomfortable with anyone using it.
Just as a general observation, male!V and fem!V both seem quite good, but from what I've seen it seems like the female VA really has some extra pathos in those emotional and vulnerable scenes. She's really good.

I did end up getting that and liking it, but now I'm looking at a car upgrade. I might get that rallycar looking one from out in the Badlands. Might be a bit too Mad Max for what I want, though.

The part
When she first finds out about the bio chip and how its killing her psyche and she's begging for the doc to do something
Man it gets to me.
The voice acting in this game is generally pretty top tier all around. I dont think I've actually heard a bad performance yet.
So, quick question about a side mission involving malfunctioning body parts:
The one where the dude has a malfunctioning electric dong, complaining constantly about the pain, and then says he will call you later. It’s been a while and I haven’t gotten a call or my money yet. Is this a bugged mission?

Shame they had to cut the flathead as an actual tool V could keep.
Its pretty cute.
Which reminds me... weren't there a lot of clips shown in marketing materials where you directly control the flathead?
In my mission it was completely automated and I just opened vents for it
One of many things cut for time, I suspect.

I got the funny end of act 1 bug...
Jackie with his pistol in his hand trying to give me the chip. Kind of made what should have been a really deep, touching moment a bit yackity sax, but eh, it was still a good moment.
I just had the end of act 1 mission get bugged in a hilarious way.
When he reached up to pick up the chip, it was replaced with Jackie's pistol model. Just a pistol sitting inside his head. He pulled it out and handed it to me.
It was very touching. I was quite moved.
Yeah so this is that funny bug I got at the end of act 1 mentioned in the post above.
THIS IS A MAJOR STORY SPOILER IT IS ONLY SAFE IF YOU ARE UP TO ACT 2.

Just checked out the subreddit and yeesh, its like looking through a portal into another dimension. They are not happy campers. If you only read what they're saying you'd think the game is literally an unplayable mess.
Hacking is so OP. Also, I have taken waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to long to actually start doing main questline stuff. I'm still in act 1.
Yep, I'm at like 10 or 11 street cred and haven't even done maelstrom yet.
Currently in a gas mask, jumpsuit and generally beat people with a lead pipe. I might be a robin hood hobo. Have even taken every cyberpsycho fight so far full melee with the pipe.
Sidequestion: are melee fists a blunt weapon?
I can't believe how OP hacking is though, I'm basically a witch that sets people on fire with my mind.
Instead of taking perks to increase quickhack damage, I took the perks to increase duration and the sneak attack quickhack perk that doubles damage against unaware targets. I just need to hack into a building's camera system and tab between cameras setting everyone on fire as I go.

Yep. My bare fists regen health when I hit things, as per the "hit things with blunt weapon and get health back" perk. They're also pretty good deeps if you got some body (or possibly just are?). Equip them (hands in front of face in boxing position) then go to your stat screen to see their dps. Inventory->stats.
Morninglord on
(PSN: Morninglord) (Steam: Morninglord) (WiiU: Morninglord22) I like to record and toss up a lot of random gaming videos here.
I'm mostly putting a suppressor on whichever handgun I have with the highest damage per shot (not per second) with perks and mods that increase headshot damage, damage from stealth, crit damage etc.
Just plinking people for 5k damage
Then if I get spotted I bust out the Ajax for dakka
Just visited the Clouds. Amazing sequence, I will give the game credit for not rushing anything, it will dwell on a scene. But the actual Cloud interaction with
your doll, (Skye in my case) was amazing. Charismatic and seductive, the embodiment of your own subconscious and then... girl barely clinging on.

Agreed, great way to flesh out V. Great storytelling
Is anyone using the bullet ricochet to good effect? How is it in practice?
I haven't actually seen it happen yet as fights are so hectic it's hard enough to hit someone coming straight at me without calculating ricochet angles,
I'm not sure how it works, but I woke up with a build in mind that involves heavy sneaking and one-hit headshot ricochet kills using all the crit perks in the handguns tree. So I'd be in amongst the mooks shooting their asses, but they'd never see me.

BEFORE THE ROCKET IS SHOT AS IT HAS A DELAY ON THE LAUNCH
this results in u 100% rocketing the cover and dying. i believe in the biz this is known as game design

Hey
Hey
You want weird arm rocket launchers with safeties, you get recruited into some corp as a soldier.
In the street? Well to borrow a phrase from another universe...
I am so fucking tired of this fucking game crashing on me. So fucking tired.
damn, that really sucks
It's better now after the patch yesterday. It happens every couple of hours instead of every hour. But every time I am really enjoying my time with it the game crashes. Really sours my feelings on the whole thing.
Also the police are absolutely fucking bullshit. I accidentally shot a pedestrian on a dock and the fuckers spawned behind me guns a blazing.
It's so stupid it's funny - in a city filled with crime where murderers, freaks and rapists run around with impunity whenever you do something bad the police just teleport on you. But when some of their own get killed in an ambush they just tell you and you can take care of the situation today ... or tomorrow ... or a week from now, or never.
I'm reaching the point where I just sprint right into buildings with objectives and beelining right to the end. I legit tried stealth on this one but I wasn't high enough to stealth kill anyone, when it went sideways I was like fuck it and ran inside. https://youtu.be/qZ0XpHjbGqs
I also did a side mission to heist a
rooftop apartment full of advanced security. I went in by bashing out a window and climbing into the terrace, ripping a side panel open so I can get past the motion sensing doors, and snuck up the stairs and stole the item. I got greedy and hit the "emergency system reset" on the bedroom computer, just so I could loot. But I didn't realize it meant it would come back on. So even though I stealthed that mission nearly perfectly I threw it away at the end not realizing the reboot would cause the system to come back on like 30 seconds later.
Still, that was fun. When the security system woke up, all these bots started shooting at me. So I dashed out to the balcony, saw two small bridges about 50 ft down. With my new beefy health bar and reduced fall damage, I hopped down to those bridges. Only for the game to get me stuck up there with no way to parkour down safely. It was about 400-500 ft to the ground and no other footholds to drop down too, and going back up was impossible because it was higher than my super jump height. At this point I got creative and found a wall with small windowsills, so by wedging myself in a corner over the windowsill I was able to shimmy down one side of a massive building. The game seemed confused and made me walk inside and then back out to finish the mission. I felt like I really did that mission my own way, so I was proud even though it took me like 20 mins just to get down lol

I was having a laugh with the projectile launcher system and climbed on top of a booth in a market. Firing an incendiary round into the crowd and the cop system leapt up to 4-5 stars immediately and I get the audio warning for being spotted. I turn around and the game has spawned a dozen cops in the same spot on the opposite corner of the booth roof I was on. I managed to look slightly surprised before getting obliterated in a hail of gunfire.

Modified the flashing effect on braindances to reduce the risk of inducing epileptic symptoms. The effect has been smoothed out and the flashes reduced in frequency and magnitude.
There goes their master plan to murder people via video game.
But wait I thought this was just a natural thing that happens to most videogames and that if people don't want to get seizures they should have read the fine print in the back of an EULA somewhere? Why change it?
No one ever said that.
Well.. you did.. *cut to chart showing other games with seizure warnings (edit: failed seizure tests) that you posted at least once*. But sure fine, I'll play that game.
No one ever said they were trying to murder people either. If you guys wanna make ridiculous strawmans then I can too.
A seizure warning was added to the game's startup before it came out...
