the game really suffers from button shortage
dodge should be a separate button, projectile arms should not be exclusive with grenades, there are no activatable skills or abilities other than i guess the medkit one (which similarly just replaces another bind)
making one of the buttons a modifier and sticking some of the less-used stuff onto a modifier combo and freeing up some real estate would have dramatically improved the options for consoles i think. and on pc the fact u need a pause menu for quickhacks is just like.. cmon lads its a different system just give us some fucking BINDS lol
Some of the bit dialogue is weird. I saw one of the Tygers talking about getting a haiku his grandfather wrote tattooed on himself. After reciting it, the other Tyger asked if his grandfather could have written something shorter and doesn't know if he has the space for it.
It is a haiku. They aren't going to vary that much in length even with stuff like decisions about kanji and kana.
Did anyone go back to save Takamura during the MaxTac rescue of Hanako? Both my brothers and my friend didn't realize you could go back up and get him. I immediately said fuck you Johnny and went back up. I'm assuming most people didn't realize because Johnny explicitly tells you to run.
I knew it was possible to save him going in, but I honestly had a hell of a time finding the path to him.
I literally yeeted myself up back up through the hole with my super jump legs. I still haven't tried the double jump legs though.

i think cp2077 is in a skyrim position - broadly its got enormous problems as a release title, but it scratches the "very nice looking expansive world to get lost in" thing that people kind of love
the areas that it really nails - presentation, sound, music, size of world etc - count for a surprisingly large number of people in an intuitive way. i think its in a good position for a turnaround so long as they act really fast and get ahead of the pr stuff by being open and stopping the bullshit
Yeah tbh I think the game is only slightly above average overall.
But we haven't had a decent open world RPG in a minute so it scratches an itch.
As for the state of the game as long as they fix it I'm sure all we be forgotten that said I imagine whatever their next product is their marketing team will really have to humble themselves.
The game feels more like a Ubisoft open world game to me than anything else. I am not sure if the leveling mechanics and perks are even deeper than the stuff found in modern Assassin's Creed and Far Cry games.

Oh if only it had a central spot in each region you went to to reveal the landmarks and side quests there.
Towers are rote at this point but after having everything in the game dumped on my lap immediately here i'd gladly go back to some sense of map discovery or progression.

Does anyone have a good source on how armor mods do/don't work/stack?
Reddit has folks saying you can only have one of Crit/Crit damage on a piece, or it won't work at all, and that you can only have one of each rarity *total* among all gear. Those don't seem to be true to me - I have multiple 15% crit that seem to all work. I also have a piece with 15% crit and 30% damage that both seem to work. But, my legs with 60% damage x 2 - those don't do anything.
i figured out how the game is going to stop me from camera takeover wiping out an entire hideout with quickhacks before i go in... and that's just not spawning enemies until i hit certain parts of the building
also i hit a guy in the head with a cane i picked up off his bed, then a cop teleported into the apartment and shot me.

Yeah, I’m glad I managed to do that without spoilers. If they just gave me a waypoint I might have missed it, but it’s specifically because Johnny told me he was a lost cause that I was actively trying to go back. An anti-hint of sorts.

I actually appreciate that there are a few moments throughout the game like this, where you can do things that aren't on your objective list.
User name Alazull on Steam, PSN, Nintenders, Epic, etc.
Judy. Judy, you "have no idea what to do"? Judy, I have on my person 12 guns, one a sniper rifle larger than I am, thank you Panam, a dildo bat, and a truly worrying quantity and variety of grenades. You really haven't got any ideas, here?
PS grenades have weight, guess who didn't notice until he hit like. A few hundred.
Moving to a new post so nobody ends up answering a gun question and seeing a spoiler!
Speaking of Very Large Rifles, what precisely is the "full potential" unlocked at 6 body? The internet is inconclusive. It currently handles like an absolute pig, so I'm assuming sway/move speed/recoil all improve?

Oh shit, didn't know this was possible
Good thing I only just started Act 3, cause I'm reloading
At the end of the fight, I was just spraying my auto pistol at his head, so he just died for me. Must have shot him again right as the fight ended. What Takemura said afterwards made me realize I could spare him, so I reloaded
Second time was actually quite funny. Takemura asked me "Did you spare him??"
Me looking at Oda's squirming, burning body: "Uh.. give it sec. Okay, yeah, looks like he petered out"
So I got a weird bug. I defeated some enemies carrying big heavy machine guns, and looted the guns. As soon as I did, the gun was equipped (I made sure I picked it up, not pressed the equip button). When I pressed alt, the game switched me right back to the weapon I had equipped before I picked up the heavy machine gun.
And when I went into my inventory to look at the weapons, they were gone as if they had never existed.
Before following any advice, opinions, or thoughts I may have expressed in the above post, be warned: I found Keven Costners "Waterworld" to be a very entertaining film.

That's not weird. "Something else" doesn't have to be another haiku.
Also, you're reading into silly dialogue too much.

Hah, dunno how this was supposed to go, but had a boss fight in Act 2
with Sasquatch? Spotted her from afar, hacked and infected with all my nastiest malware, and she started doing laps. Just zooming around the arena as fast as she fuckin' could while her music starts pumping.
And then I hacked her again. And again. And she hasn't dropped or spotted me, so eventually I just run up to her and a boss fight starts, and she's at 100% health.
Cool!

Just finished the game, wow what an amazing story. It's too bad they didn't finish the game before releasing it, if it just didn't have so many unfinished/lazily implemented parts and bugs it might have been GOAT territory for me.
Spoilers regarding Panam Ending:
Hell yeah I picked Panam, she's the best character in the game by far. The scenes with her had so much weight to them, and the music that played alongside those scenes (was that track specific to Panam or is that just what plays every time things get heavy?) really helped me get into the moment. I was legit IRL terrified throughout the last mission that I was gonna lose her somehow, which is a pretty good accomplishment for a video game. I want more V and Panam adventures ASAP.
I'm so attached to the Panam ending that I'm not even sure that I want to go back and see what the others are tbh.
Met a shady fellow near the slurp shop where you look for Jonny’s old music. I recommend you blow money buying his BD.
If you use his BD rig you’ll black out and wake up naked in the scav apartment from the beginning of the game. Jonny gives you shit for being the dumbest merc in night city and the scavs talk about how you had shot up the place earlier. After shooting the place up again, you can go back and confront/ventilate the guy who set you up.

I just beat the game as well, and I am going to do myself a favor and let that be the end of the story for me with this game for a while.
By the time I come back to it, Ray Tracing will work with AMD hardware, bugs will be sorted out, and I can do the Lady V hacker route that is definitely top of the list.
So, probably mid next year sometime.
But man, what a fucking game. CDPR made a gem here.... it has some rough edges but they will sort it out, because the game made a crapload of money and they have always been good about supporting what they make.

This isn't a bug, that's how heavy machine guns work. They're objects you can use in the world, not actual "weapons". You can also rip them off of turrets to use for a while if you have enough Body.

I’m studying for my board exams, so I won’t be picking this up until mid-Feb. But I haven’t seen any talk about the Trauma Team (admittedly not clicking on spoilers). I had kinda hoped that they would be a service you could purchase for your character or an organization you could work for.

It's pretty clear Trauma Team and the flying cop cars were meant to be part of the game, but you only see them during scripted stuff and, sometimes, on the ground already (like at a crime scene or something on random corners).
