Was feeling more than well enough to get back into cyberpunk tonight. Finished a few side gigs and went back to the story.
Spoilers for Act 2 mid-stuff/side gigs...
Judy/Evelyn
I finished the Evelyn part of this. I haven't finished Judy. I knew what would happen from watching Cohh. Still, fuck that was a quest. Judy's voice actor nails it. Lady V is damn good too which is still a different feel than male V. Fuck I am going to go medieval on everyone's ass I can for Judy.
Panam
I can see why folks like her. I saw bits of her on Cohh. Cute design with the freckles. She is dumb as shit. Like she has an 8 wisdom score holy shit.
Tarot
I am enjoying finding these. The art is gorgeous.
Got also into a crazy hard story fight for my build. I carry two shotguns (power and tech) and a crowbar to do what I need to do. This fight was just no way of me getting next to folks quickly finishing them. And the game wouldn't let me put in my LMG. So I did the next best thing, grenade spam. Specifically grenades that shoot lasers. Worked pretty well.
I did clean up with shotguns to the face. Still a great feeling. Also didn't realize I accidentally turned up my sensitivity on my mouse with the buttons I have. It feels so slow now.
Its a buggy game. I had some hilarious rubber bumper car shit today. But at the same time it has just moments of jaw dropping wonder. I don't blame anyone holding off though. If CDPR lives long enough to bring it up to Witcher 3 level of stability it will be everything they promised in a lot of ways.
Still happy it runs so well on my computer with its 1070.

Yeah Panam is a walking disaster and I like her a lot. Besides her low wisdom score she's got a great vibe of like, constantly seeking parental figures approval countered by her inability to not keep acting out and pissing off her superiors. So she's constantly flipping her bosses off and then being like, so... so you respect me now, right????? and then getting upset when it doesn't work.
She's a great character.
A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.

She min maxed into charisma and driving and her wisdom is like a -3 modifier. Its kind of hilarious.
When I listen to Fairytale of New York I mentally sub in less offensive lyrics. Yes, I avoid using the bundle-of-sticks word, but also i say “The boys in the FDNY choir” instead of “the boys in the NYPD choir.”

Yeah whenever I got additional dialogue lines with Panam or Judy, I saw that as the big payoffs in the game.
Everything else was cool, the action was fun, but the conversations with those two are kind of inspired.
When y’all play games like fallout or mass effect or cyberpunk, do you explore every single dialogue option or just the ones that appeal to you organically?

First play through I tend to go with options that are basically "me."

First time through I have a rule: no save scumming in dialogue options. Let it roll.
Unless I feel the dialogue option was misrepresentative of what the character actually says

Depends on the game and character.
ME has actual effects for choices (renegade vs. paragon) so I tend to do a play through for both. But usually do all the general dialogue. For Fallout, I ask everything as it has bonuses. I am finding in cyberpunk avoiding things that seem out of place for V. Its because I feel the character so strongly due to good writing. Also because some are dumb and not worth it. But I might do in another run.
Sorry, I wasn’t clear. I don’t mean save scumming choices. I mean, the dialogue options that don’t irrevocably advance the conversation. Like, two yellow text- yes, I’ll kill the guy for you- and no, handle your own business. Then 3-4 muted color lines like, what did he do to you, anyway? What else can you tell me about his security weaknesses? et
Do you exhaustively plumb every bit of data available in every conversation?

I only do the ones that sorta match what I'm playing as. A lot of the times it does end up being all the presented options, but sometimes I do skip some.
It kinda depends on the style of the game too. Some games if you're not choosing every option you're just not being thorough. Others present a chance to roleplay your character a certain way, like expressing doubts about their story or something, and for those even if there's no true penalty for picking them, I'll still avoid the choices.
A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.

today my greatest cyberpunk accomplishment has been making friends with a vending machine named Brendon
Allegedly a voice of reason.

Or when I can buy a video card that can run it at high.
Damn this game. Luckily I am still working my way through Hades which is awesome and could run on a toaster.
No joke my smart fridge could probably run Hades.

I love how they named the Xbox One X.
Because the abbreviation for it is "EOD"

It's mostly 'I dunno, the expensive one is probably the best'.
If you know nothing else, it's good approach to consoles.

Makes me think of 'cockblock'.
No, the XBOX Series X is better; just looking at the words is sending me subliminal messages that it's related to Sex and is therefore good.

Usually?
Absolutely not.
In Cyberpunk and Witcher 3?
Absolutely.
That's an utterly fantastic performance in front of one of the worst crowds I have ever seen.
