Earth needs to remain habitable for any kind of space exploration to be viable. It is the base of operations and without it any kind of venture is doomed. No supplies, no refueling, no backup. The best that'll happen is a small group of people get a very unique coffin ever sailing into the empty abyss.
It's kind of weird that so many people have bought into the idea that we can escape and fix a world that is worse off than the earth may ever be when we can't even fix the earth. It's like your house has become unlivable because you don't know how to take care of it and you think the solution is to move to an empty lot and build a house from scratch.
The actual arguemnt is that in learning how to live on another planet, we could apply that to helping fix things here on Earth. Though, I have low expectations that any corporation that does so will have much of an interest in doing such.
I think its also precisely backwards.
Yeah what? It still sounds like your trying to do a much more difficult task than just fixing the earth.

I think I misspoke. I didn't mean to imply that you have to solve planetary colonisation in order to use it to fix things here. Just that it's not an either/or thing. Research done for planetary colonisation could lead to improvments for life here on Earth.
God that's so fucking stressful. There are a lot of problems with police that are inherent to the idea or go way back but I don't understand how basically in my lifetime they've been allowed to turn into these incredibly paranoid lunatics that believe that every interaction with the public has their life on the line.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Those reports sound a bit like ass covering to me. Your q-pilled, dementia addled boomer audience can't get mad at the league, it was all that scoundrel Eminem's fault.
Remember, we are not sharing the image of Eminem to praise Eminem, we're sharing it to piss off police apologists.
Additionally, Eminem is very aware of how much he owes the black community and is very aware how loud and proud he needs to be in support of police reform. Fact is he needs to have a black woman off stage feeding him his lines

so they black balled Kaepernick, then looked like utter fools when they claimed allyship during the BLM protests, where Goodell was like, "Our bad man, we shoulda listened to the dude, someone sign up him or something," and yet these clown asses, in the year 2022, are still utterly terrified of his legacy
He shouldn't have had the audacity to have agency instead of just acting like whatever the NFL wanted him to be, or something.
Almost 60% of NFL players are black, but what percentage of NFL coaching staff is black? Head coaches? Owners? NFL chair members? The NFL claiming any sort of desire for social justice for black folks is, at the very best, a veneer of shit covering a blood-stained hood.

It's more than that. David Grossman is a figure that looms large over modern policing. His "Killology Research Group" has since like the 90's been working to instill a culture of othering and dehumanizing that has alter the already racist, cruel and abusive police system. He teaches them to be afraid of any interaction with the public. That any situation could turn into a deadly encounter. That police before where too unwilling to kill and that this valuing of human life caused a lot of cops to die. He teaches that There are only two kinds of people. The sheep and the wolves. That cops are the sheepdogs protecting the sheep.
In short he is a fucking lunatic and has made cops worse in every way.
The joke that's been going around re: Eminem (other than the pretty good 'stand up' one) is variations on, "I wonder how they'll punish Janet Jackson for this".
NBC did censor Kendrick Lamar when he sang the line "and we hate po po, wanna kill us dead in the street fo sho" specifically the words po po. Which is just utterly bizzare to ask a bunch of rappers from Compton to come on stage and not sing about the things that connected them to broad audiences and earned them their reputation??

I, for one, am shocked that the NFL would capitalize on the image and personality of a black man while preferring that he not discuss the world or his lived realities.

I got my hands on some of that training material a few years back. The introduction section is just 15 minutes of cops being murdered during routine traffic stops. It was traumatising as fuck.

Grossman beats you over the head with trauma. This shit is always out there and has always been out there, but he uses it to beat officers into a state of fear and conditions departments to outright punishes cops who don't cop to it.

Yeah, I got the same thing. That was after being told originally that the tweet didn't break any policies but I guess there was enough reports that it triggered a proper go-over from someone other than an automated bot
The one about the fucking space hairdresser and the cowboy. He's got a tinfoil pal and a pedal bin
Kim Potter is getting 2 years for killing Daunte Wright. Prosecution was pushing for 7.
She will be eligible for parole after two-thirds of time served, too!
Meanwhile, we've got a Black woman sentenced to five years for casting a provisional ballot because she was never told by anyone she couldn't vote until her parole was up.

She didn't even cast a ballot if I recall. She just filed paperwork to register

Her parole officer told her it was up iirc? And signed paperwork to that effect.
Two teens (one white, one black) got into a fight in a nearby mall. Police rushed in and pulled them apart, then sat one of the teens down on a nearby couch unrestrained, while two cops threw the other teen to the ground, kneeled on him, and handcuffed him.
Any guesses which one got which treatment? Lol, just kidding, we all know cops hate black people.
(To make matters worse, the white kid was older, bigger, and on top of the black kid punching him when the cops pulled them apart)
Ah, it stinks, it sucks, it's anthropologically unjust

I guess they're not used to dealing with people who can go "lol or else what?"
