The button actually sends electrical current through the body of a student-volunteer in the next room at you can hear the agony over one of the phones there. The harder the president pushes the button the more diet coke is brought in by a butler, but the current also increases and the suffering of the volunteer increases as well.
@jungleroomx I tried very hard to engage with PoE but frankly compared to Warframe's learning curvecliff PoE felt like a literal punch to the face.
I didn't even get to the insane skill tree, just the opening area left me wondering what in the ever-living-fuck I was even supposed to be doing.
Though considering the hours I've put into Warframe maybe that's for the best.

The function is actually similar to the now standard buttons at McDonalds that torture a student in order to convert your choice of Coke to Diet Coke. I don't really see what the big difference is here.

Those students are converting a Coke to a Diet Coke rather than a Coke Zero so good, fuck them, they fuckin' suck.

this lecturer doesn't know how to put his OneNote notes into the Canvas site we use, or hasn't heard that it's a thing
so upon it being requested his first thought was just mailing it to himself as a pdf and uploading it
which will be so much better holy fuck OneNote is so fucking slow

Someone put a 'funny' comment about the pronoun dropdownlist on the US government website in the work WhatsApp channel and it is of course the Brexit guy.
It's like you can't pick just one piece of stupidity, you have to clear out the whole shelf at the dumb store.

they're supposed to be for people to catch up and actually see the people we work with but it invariably just leads to covid talk and then people get m a d
A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.

Alright, despite that start I am immediately really getting into 13 Sentinels. They really don't waste time getting to some interesting characters.
what's it about / like?
It's a game about high schoolers who can summon mechs and use them to fight kaiju.
So far the storyline is a convoluted scifi mystery where a lot is happening and the viewer is left to sort of piece together what is going on from a bunch of disparate character perspectives taking place in very different time periods (1940s, 1980s, etc). It seems very much set up to make the player go "what the fuck is going on??" over and over (at least at this point in the story), but already I'm starting to see how some of these things must fit together.
The art is spectacular 2d anime art that seems to be ranging between much too horny in the way that Vanillaware art tends to be and actually pretty tasteful/well-handled, but I will say they've managed to put a somewhat surprising amount of diversity in this cast of school uniform-wearing Japanese anime teens already.
Most interesting so far is a character who has been shown both wearing boys' and girls' clothing at different points and has said something to the effect of "there are binaries I don't fit easily into" and I'm interested to see how they handle this character moving forward.
ohhhhhh i think i get why my ex bounced off this now.
I wonder if the twitter crop algorithm recognises common meme templates and focuses on the salient part
I wonder if then causes the cropped meme to become comprehensible in its own right, the way that common contractions become embedded in spoken language

That requires to much competence from the algorithm

Good morning, fair chat. This has been the business 3-4 week stretch of work I can remember in a long time and starting this afternoon I am going on vacation and I cannot wait.
i posted.... but fine, i'll post more. I'll post so badly it'll lead to another hour of no posts.
I'm still very good friends with my ex.
She basically quit her job to move in with her current GF who lives in a different city. Yesterday was her last day there.
She wants to take this opportunity to move to freelance writing for RPGs as her primary job. She's already been published in a few Pathfinder books, so not only do I think she has what it takes, i'm not alone. That said, and i hope it doesn't come off as shitty, i'm kinda worried that she won't be able to find steady work freelancing.
Doe anyone know about the RPG book industry? How consistent is the work on there? Should i be worrying less, basically?
Anyway, i'm rambling... anyone here
-know the Tabletop RPG book market
-know someone who needs a talented freelance writer
-know where Waldo is

She exclusively plays queer games... the queer content in 13 Sentinels was not up to snuff for her tastes.

Just kidding, Riverdale doesn't really appeal to me in the first place.

he's not even the first US President to have done this
Lyndon Johnson had four buttons for coffee, tea, Coke, and YooHoo
Of all the fucking shit he did this is like the smallest potatoes
He didn't even drill a hole into the desk like I figured he would, it was a box that sat on top
