I'm picking the White Album under the caveat that there's no real wrong choice here, and I could probably make an argument why any of the options were the best choice.

However, I'm picking the White Album because it's the synergy point between conceptualism, songcraft, and commercial appeal.

There will never be another band like The Beatles. It's a real shame John Lennon was such a piece of shit.

    5: White Album
    4: Abbey Road
    3: Help
    2: Please Please Me
    1: Revolver

also, I need to strike the Abbey Road Medly from my #5 spot and add their cover of Kansas City

    Fuckin hell

Gotta be White Album, it's unparalleled. I don't think there's much argument to be had - it's everything.

But I have an extreme fondness for Magical Mystery Tour. After that, Sgt Pepper's.

Can I just link Prince playing the absolute hell out of While My Guitar Gently Weeps because it's astounding.

This is my favorite version not on the actual White Album.

Sgt. Pepper and The White album have their worst songs (Revolution 9 / Long Long Long and Within You, Without You / She's Leaving Home)

but even still, that's like saying the worst 4 winning lottery tickets

A lot of people will say White Album because it's the big double release but holy hell is there a lot of forgettable filler on those discs.

my favorite part of the white album was playing Mother Natures Son and Helter Skelter back to back for my kids and telling them it was the same band

Although Sonic Youth’s cover is better than the original IMO

I absolutely adore She's leaving home. The chorus may be one of my favorite musical moments of all time.

    "Sheeeeeeeee's
    Leeaaaviiiiiing
    Hooooooooome

She's leaving home after living alone for so many years"

What a perfect summation of the alienation and loneliness of adolescence.

    Honestly? Fair.

However, you should be able to find at least a single song you enjoy because of the amount of musical genres they inhabited at different times.

I actually don't like most Beatles stuff, but Elenor Rigby is a fantastic song despite being a Beatles song.

Which Beatle is your favorite and why is he George Harrison

I like McCartney because he's defiantly uncool and boring while also being a stone cold genius. He was on Adam Buxton's podcast a few weeks ago and he was happily talking about his love for panel shows and doing utterly ordinary stuff your dad would do. Oh that Lee Mack is quick, isn't he?

I love this clip of them with Morecambe and Wise. HELLO BONGO.

top 5 songs?? difficult as someone who grew up listening to only the beatles and the radio until high school.

    Here Comes the Sun
    Dear Prudence
    While My Guitar Gently Weeps
    Hey Bulldog
    Eleanor Rigby
    (i've just seen a face)
(lucy in the sky with diamonds)
(she came in through the bathroom window)
    (lovely rita)
    (ob-la-di, ob-la-da)

best albums (for me) are definitely white album, sgt peppers, and then help / abbey road are tied.

    Let It Be
There was no way to specific in the poll so I'd like to clarify that I'm voting for "let It Be... Naked" which is just so much better than Specter's mangling of the material.

I have a real soft spot for very experienced musicians trying to write the music they wrote as young musicians but with all the fancy stuff they learned in between.

Ah yes my music taste is 'incorrect.' What was I thinking having my own opinion.

I’ve long maintained that if only one rock band will be listened to in 200 years, it will be The Beatles. The amount of creativity and talent on display is frankly astonishing. Also the amount of drugs they did, holy shit, so much drugs.

There is debate over whether they were better before or after they became a studio-only band but there shouldn’t be because the answer is after.

But in the interest of fairness I have included albums from when they were just a really good pop boy band.

Be prepared to defend your answer, possibly to the death.

And this is why everyone hates Moral Philosophy Professors Beatles fans.

Basically every relevant popular musician of the last 50 years would agree with the statement though, is the thing.

The idea that your vote is a moral statement about you or who you vote for is some backwards ass libertarian nonsense. Your vote is about society. Vote to protect the vulnerable.

Yeah that's not even close to true. It wasn't true when the Beatles were fresh and it sure ain't true for the last twenty years. I promise that there are a lot of rap musicians that do not give a shot about the Beatles.
