Yeah that's not even close to true. It wasn't true when the Beatles were fresh and it sure ain't true for the last twenty years. I promise that there are a lot of rap musicians that do not give a shot about the Beatles.

Kanye, Lil' Wayne, Run DMC, Wu Tang, Frank Ocean, and scads of other rappers not only cite them as a major influence, but sample them in their beats.

Like, I am not a huge Beatles fan, but they are basically part of the fabric of modern music now and denying that is a fools errand.

And to be clear: I'm a fan of the Beatles, I like what they recorded and I very much respect the influence they had on many genres of music!

But "if only one rock band will be listened to in 200 years, it will be The Beatles" is... lets go with questionable because it's much more polite.

Maybe not, but we do know that we will be listening to it at Taco Bell, as it is the only chain to survive the franchise wars.

You aren't actually contradicting what I said. I'm refuting the idea that every prominent musician of the last fifty years holds the Beatles in high esteem. That isn't true. You pointing out that many do doesn't contradict that.

Yes, the Beatles were influential to a lot of musicians and artists.

No, that doesn't mean everyone has to enjoy Beatles music.

Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band
Well now I definitely feel compelled to post. :P

Despite my forum name, Sgt. Pepper was my gut check for favorite album, although I'll side with many here that Abbey Road and Let it Be are close second/third.

Favorite track overall is Eleanor Rigby.

I do not like the Beatles but I respect the fact that they were pioneers in their field.

Hey I'm just here to say, the Beatles were better as solo acts instead of together as a band, imo.

You picked the only wrong answer, impressive :P
Ah yes my music taste is 'incorrect.' What was I thinking having my own opinion.

    @Henroid

I was being facetious, hence the :P

    Let It Be
I had to vote Let It Be, as it’s the swan song on an epic run. It’s literally the end of something and that in and of itself is profound.

For favorite, I’d say Sgt. Peppers.
