Hey, so, I just had my PC repaired and by and large it's working great. I should note, because it may be pertinent, that it involved updating to Windows 10 from 7.
The one issue I'm having is that Rocket League won't boot up on steam. When I try to boot directly from the game files, I get this error:
"The code execution cannot proceed because XAPOFX1.5.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."
I've already reinstalled the game multiple times and the same thing is happening.
I did some searching and found out this is a somewhat common issue and it's related to DirectX and all the guides suggested installing/updating DirectX. Problem is, Microsoft seems to have removed DirectX as a download from their website.
What should I do? The follow up step the guides suggest is simply downloading the file itself, but they warn that can cause issues. Plus I'm always wary of downloading from random websites. Any ideas?
Edit, solved: It turned out there was an installation for DirectX buried in a Steam subfolder that once I installed solved the issue. I don't know why it didn't install automatically with Steam, but whatever.
