    Another reminder that even though I'm an avid gamer, I am completely out of touch for what kids these days are playing. I've never even heard of Gunfire Reborn. Sounds like a shmup.

    It's not a shmup. Shmups are usually top down shooters like 1942 in arcades of old, Raptor on DOS, or more recently Ikaruga and Touhou.

    GR and similar games are usually FPS games, but with roguelite elements.

    Gabe probably has a right to complain. I assume it takes longer to draw a strip than it does to write one. Has anyone watched him draw one on a livestream who could give us a rough idea of how fast he churns one out? (I know not all strips are equal, but it could still be some interesting trivia.)

    Yeah, I know what a shmup is. And when I read the words "Gunfire Reborn" that's the first image that pops into mind. A topdown bullet hell game with some sort of aircraft or mech. That's the image that is conjured in my head just based on the name alone.

    I have not looked it up online to see gameplay.

    i hadn't heard of gunfire reborn until the last comic mentioning; promptly bought it on steam as it looked right up my alley and dear god it has consumed my life.

    Deffo an odd little game. I picked it up a while back because I love roguelites and it’s certainly fun but nothing revolutionary.
