I had to laugh last night during an instance run, I was healing Doma Castle, which can be tricky if people's gear is lagging. On one pull I was having to pull out all the stops, the tank seemed extra squishy. Got through it, and then he said "Sorry, I fell asleep." Glad he grabbed aggro before nodding off, that was the polite thing to do

I was mysteriously alive and not even disconnected when it went back to normal.

feels like it fits more of a GNB aesthetic than a DRK one, but I don't have GNB levelled so DRK will have to do

I'm in the last zone in Shadowbringers, some general musings:
The writing took a huge step up in quality for this expansion. Emet-Selch is charismatic and believable (and an arse) and not just twirling his mustache, like the Ascians did for all of ARR/HW. Some very emotional moments throughout the entire ShB story.
Also liked Urianger growing into his own, he was mostly background decoration previously.

They managed to make Emet-Selch a character that I can empathize with while also still making it clear that what he wants to do is monstrous despite his very understandable justifications. I feel like striking that balance without going too far into 'snidely whiplash mustache-twirling' or 'actually they have a point why am I fighting them again?' is something a lot of games struggle with.

Emet-Selch knows the gravity of what he intends to do, but he believes it worth it. He's very well written.
I also love that the hidden second half of the final zone is Zanarkand. It's even underwater, which connects strongly to Zanarkand being on the water. It's not a direct FFX reference, but the parallels are very strong. The fight with Emet-Selch at the end also has some thematic parallels to Sin and being powered by the souls of the ancient civilization.

Imagine this scenario. You're out volunteering at a food kitchen or whatever with your family, and suddenly a fight breaks out. Your family are all knocked unconscious and go into a coma indefinitely.
Modern medicine can't help, you know of no way to help them.... until suddenly there's a brand new scientific breakthrough. There's this enzyme that if you extract from 10 live pigs, it'll save your family and cure them. The pigs, unfortunately, will die.
Would you do that? Would you kill 10 pigs to save your family?
I mean.... I feel like a lot of people would. I would....
Shadowbringers MSQ done. Now I'll sit here and have some feels for a bit.
There's a quest marker to the left of the steps in the middle of the ShB city. When you're ready, grab that quest, queue for the dungeon, and turn up the volume.

You're missing a key point from that though.
You can also turn the pigs into bacon.
And sausage.
And pork chops.
And ribs.
And pork loin.
And ham.
Thanks, now I'm hungry. I hope you're happy.
also the pigs are trapping your soul in white auracite and shattering it, foiling your immortality by preventing you from escaping the cycle of reincarnation as you normally would
the funniest thing about the ascian motivations is
they already fucked it, their whole plan relies on un-fucking The Void and they're all just like "uhhhhhhhhhhh well we'll cross that bridge when we come to it"

Yep, but then I also 100% think the WoL, scions, and everyone fighting against him is right. Because fighting and stopping him is the greatest possible proof that we're not just pigs.
I've seen a lot of people take very hardline stances against Emet-Selch and like... I'm not saying their wrong, I'm just saying they haven't thought their convictions all the way through.
Is there anything really useful to buy from tomestones at 80? Seems the Exarchic gear beats what I've seen from vendors so far.
Cryptlurker can be augmented to a higher ilvl if you farm tokens out of the 24man raids. It is to the best of my knowledge the highest ilvl you can get outside of possibly the last tier of 8man savage.
It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

You need a huge pile of the 2nd tier tomestones to upgrade Exarchic gear. Here is a visual guide from a random Redditor https://i.redd.it/8rmpt235hx271.jpg

Augmented Cryptlurker is the same ilvl as the equivalent Savage tier. BiS depends entirely on the secondaries.

if the pigs start doing that you might want to stop treating them like an animal you can exert your will upon

Wild animals can sometimes hurt or kill people in the real world. Doesn't mean they're not still animals.

I never notice anything in chat during a fight
I made a separate chat box and put it up by the enemy health bar to catch those. It wasn't too bad once you got used to it.

Yes, but Exarchic gear is crafted using items purchased with Allegory tomestones. But yes, it will beat Crystarium gear.
