    I like everything but the Flurry change. Demacia has already surpassed Ionia as the Sivir support region and this punishes other decks like the Riven Draven one shot.

    Honestly the first three changes don't even need to be targeted at Sivir decks, they're just overdue rebalancing of Shurima from when they needed pushed cards to compensate for their card pool.

    I hate this Zilean deck in the Labs. It's just the worst. Most of the decks they give you suck and made me rely on the second Champion you get, but this one is actively bad for most of the challenges they throw at you in this mode. Slow so it sucks against the fast ones, no removal for big threats, looks at your deck and draws cards a lot which hurts with the mushroom traps and mill later. And the worst is relying on doing 1 single point of damage to everything, which makes the Scar fight almost impossible.

    Zilean is better now because of the new powers. He's not good, but he's better.

    One big key is you need to fish for a top-tier power at the start. The "Countdowns activate twice" power is super potent with Zilean for instance. Discounts on created cards also helps because once you get Zilean leveled you are awash in created cards.

    And in that vein, you wanna try and pair him with a decent secondary hero. Victor is actually really potent as a backup. Alternatively transition almost entirely into another stronger champ.

    Scargrounds is the real pain point though. You need to have a non-timebomb based alternate win condition, so find one.

    For Labs I'd say Pyke is weak and Reksai is decent. Your biggest issue is that neither deck contains many lurk cards and since both champs are primary ones, you can't chose the other Lurk package as a secondary champion, so there's few ways to fix that issue. This is why Reksai is better imo: she can get you more Lurk units and make them more potent.

    I actually had a lot of success with a Reksai deck and the "get a free fleeting counterfeit copies every turn" power. Fish for Reksai in your opening hand and then just stack your deck full of them.

    Heimerdinger is actually pretty decent in Labs. He's very very weak at the start though because the opening couple of encounters are literally the worst matchups possible for his deck. Spiders can just fuck your face to pieces and there's nothing you can do about it sometimes because the Heimer deck has no way to deal with swarm strategies.

    In general one of the biggest design problems with Lab of Legends is that the opening encounters can be extremely nasty matchups for certain types of decks and at the start of the game you have almost no control over what your deck even is.

    For whatever reason I get LeBlanc in my secondary Champion selection almost every time, so I've transitioned to building around her pretty frequently. I think I've seen Ezreal a few times, and he seems to work fairly well with Zilean. But everyone else just feels like I'm swapping to a new deck/style completely, just with Zilean's shitty deck dragging it down.

    I've been trying to take one of the 'start with X' powers since there's nothing to cast until turn 2, and nothing good to cast until like turn 4-5. I'm not sure I've ever even seen that countdown power as an option. And I just seem to see the same 3-5 Champions as options, even when I reroll looking for something that better fits Zilean's starting deck. I didn't know Viktor was an option, and I've never even heard of the other ones you've listed.

    Do you get anything for beating it with the other Champions on the page, besides their icons? There's just one group of five with the checklist for a card back right now.

    One thing that helps me with Zilean is the (Rare) Advanced Preparations power, that has all countdown landmarks do their effect twice. Makes the board-clearing aspect of Time Bombs actually work.

    Mind you, this still sets you up for disaster with Scargrounds.

    LeBlanc is pretty solid and if you can get the Trifarian Might power you'll have plenty of 5+ power folks in your deck to trigger it, and it does wonders for board clearing as they have no way to interrupt the effect.

    The best thing to do with Zilean is ignore him, reroll your starting power to something aggressive, and rely on your second champion. Lab rewards are just an Icon per Champion and a card back for winning with that group of 5 champs. And of course, the daily XP bonus (1,300 per day if you win 3 games).

    But it's six Epic cards, which is by far my least plentiful resource, even behind Champion wild cards. Besides, there's plenty of other decks to run until I unlock those cards.

    Also, the hotfix is live. Looks like Viktor got bug fixed as well (he wasn't generating keywords properly).

    It felt very satisfying to be given Ashe and Scargrounds to steamroll the Frostbite and Scargrounds opponents. I wound up with the '+1/+1 when a card survives damage' power on two of two Scargrounds, and the Scars AI had no idea what to do. Before it got hit with a ~18 damage elusive Ashe.

    Now that I'm finally done with that I guess I should try to make a deck, before losing and going back to clearing out the other random icons in Labs.

    Well, nevermind that, I've only got like 10-20 of the 40 cards. With no way to see exactly how many I'm missing, just a bunch of red marks. I don't seem to see a 'cost to make everything' button either. I guess I'm either supposed to click on every card and add them all up manually or just start buying things until I run out.

    Wait, maybe the building site shows that? I don't think that number includes the few cards I already have. Either way it's several times more than what I have at the moment. And this deck most likely won't work anyway. And I don't see a way to test it without buying all the cards first, which kinda defeats the point...on both the site and in game.

    If you are importing a deck code, it will show a red icon if you don't own all the cards in the deck. If you go to edit the deck each card you don't have enough copies of will be red. You can click on that card on the left-hand-side list and it will open a little screen on the left-side to show you all the ways you can buy the card (ie - shards, wildcards, etc). So you can just go down the list and buy them all.

    That's the only situation that should come up since the game won't let you build your own decks if you don't own the cards.

    Yeah, you'll have to craft all cards individually for the time being. It's a bit of a slog when you're starting out or when an expansion drops, but isn't that bad once you know the process.

    While deck building and card acquisition can feel frustrating at first (it certainly happened to me in Runeterra, Hearthstone, and MtG:A), it'll get easier pretty fast. If you can play daily and complete your 3 PvP wins, 3 Lab of Legends wins, and 3 Slatwater Scourge wins, you'll be swimming in new cards, shards, and Wild Cards before you know it. PvP wins can be in Normal, Ranked, or Expeditions so don't feel pressured to always play Ranked. Even if you can't play daily, getting your Vault to level 10 will get you a Champion Wild Card every week, which adds up over time. On average, most players who play daily will have ~70-80% of the card set in 4-6 months. That's more than enough to make any deck you want.

    What sort of deck(s) are you interested in making? There are certain staple cards in each region that you should craft first since they'll be used in a majority of that region's decks. In Demacia for example, Sharpsight, Single Combat, and Brighsteel Protector see a lot of play and should be easy 3-of crafts. Where as cards like Penitent Squire, Dragonguard Lieutenant, and Unyielding Spirit are strong cards, but are used in very specific decks making them less good to craft early.

    Both decks are great because they have solid design, include a lot of "craft first" cards, and don't require a ton of Wild cards to make. I'd take them both for a spin and see what you think. Obviously they aren't perfect and have a lot of room for improvements, but as a starting deck they should work fine.

    As a final comment (sorry this ran long), I'd recommend not tilting too hard if you lose in Ranked. At lower ranks, you don't lose any points for losses. And you might get frustrated if you're running into players with optimized decks. It happens from time to time. They might have just spent all their resources to create a meta deck. Those decks are good for a reason and it sucks if you run into them at lower ranks. I recently was watching a popular Hearthstone player doing a new account series and he was running into tier 1 decks at the lowest of low ranks. Not much you can do but accept that was an uphill fight.

    Still playing old decks in gauntlet because there's no reason not to. I was watching Worlds Qualifiers while playing so the notes are sparse.

    Sivir Demacia seems barely touched by the nerfs. You just swap Ruin Runner for Screeching Dragon and use The Absolver to get overwhelm. Merciless Hunter still can't get blocked by 2/Xs and a lot of the removal right now is either 1 damage or 3 damage, just not a lot of Mystic Shot or Avalanche type stuff around. Oh and I guess Shaped Stone got nerfed but I literally didn't notice until writing this up.

    I also swept 3 different people on Nami which was surprising, that deck seems really solid.

    Apparently there's been a whole host of organizational issues with Worlds. Incorrect waitlist seeding, issues with the third party website (battlefy), and deck lists being publicly viewable so everyone had to register their lineups at the last second to dodge counters. It's been kind of a mess so far, not sure why they're not doing it all in client like for seasonals.

    Just got my 2nd Prime Glory. Same decks as last week. Land Mines is on fire for me, gets banned half the time and the other half of the time it's my first victory for the 2-3. Go Hard Senna is still really good (and fun), and the Draven/Sion deck is really good but I still can't stand it for some reason. I think it's Sion because I've literally never put him on the board.

    I'm in on Teemo Caitlyn Traps because it's the first time I've got something as close to hair-tearingly frustrating as a true mill deck, and I tend to choose U/R violence in M:tG when I can.

    New patch dropped today. The only card changes were the one's they hotfixed a few days ago, but there are some additional changes to Labs and some bug fixes. Full (non-card) changes below:

    tl;dr - Nami and Pyke in the Saltwater Scourge lab, reroll rewards, and a new card back
    Labs Update – Saltwater Scourge

    More names on the list! Nami and Pyke join the Saltwater Scourge roster this patch, along with
    a few additional features:

    Rerolls: Rerolls are now available for each encounter & reward offering. You only have
    limited rerolls, but more can be obtained during a run!
    New Card Back: Earn an exclusive Gangplank card back by completing a run with all
    five champions with a Skill rating of “A” or higher.
    A Better Bilgewater: Various tuning adjustments and bugfixes.
    Miscellaneous

    Colorblind option added in Settings – this adjusts LoR’s graphics to improve accessibility
    for color-blind players.
    Bugfixes

    Updated Minimorph’s text to clarify that it can target allies as well as enemies.
    Fixed a bug where Viego would gain +1 health when transforming back from Viego’s
    Despair.
    Fixed a bug where multiple copies of Sejuani level 2 could reduce enemy units’ power
    below 0.
    Fixed a bug where spells displayed through “choose” effects would show incorrect spell
    speed under Senna’s effect.
    Fixed a bug where Desert Naturalist was unable to replace a Landmark on a full back
    row.
    Fixed a bug where Dragon’s Rage would deal an incorrect amount of damage when cast
    on an allied Ephemeral unit.
    Bone Skewer should now properly cause Ephemeral units to die instead of being placed
    on top of the deck.
    Units with effects related to slaying enemies with a spell (Demacian Sentinel, Watcher on
    the Isles, Buhru Sentinel, Mistkeepers, and Senna) should no longer trigger when a skill
    slays a unit.
    Fixed a bug where Guardians would react incorrectly to in-game events.
    Fixed an occasional display bug during the Victory / Defeat screen.
    Fixed several bugs related to incorrect or missing VO lines.
    Fixed several UI, UX and general visual bugs to improve game clarity and player
    experience.
    Several improvements to text across the game as part of our ongoing effort for text
    consistency.

    Ummm...I just found a bug that I'm not sure I want to report. When I finished up a match, I got enough XP to open a Diamond Chest on my Noxus region track. When I got the cards, my duplicates were giving me FULL creation value. That meant Commons were giving 100 Shards instead of 15 and so forth. Haven't tried to recreate it yet, but you might want to try and get to some chests before they hotfix it. :lol:

    3 extra capsules this week with one upgrading to an Epic and another upgrading to a Wild capsule. 5 Epics and an extra Rek’Sai is awesome. The only downside is getting a Bandle Tree just before unlocking them on the track. Such lost value! :lol:

    We were talking about Avatar of the Tides a while back, and I stumbled across a fun deck that uses it. The idea is to either level Viktor or play Glorious Evolution (or both, if you're fancy), then get Avatar in play and start slinging free or cheap spells. If you can also get Nami or Fleet Admiral Shelly in play, you wind up doing some major buffing of your board, quite aside from whatever spell effects you're getting. It's too slow, overall, but when you get it rolling it's a lot of fun.

    Yeah, opening all this stuff takes a bit too long. There's a lot of places to cut down on animation times while still working for PC and mobile.
