Bought an electric guitar for me and a laptop for my wife and a skateboard for one kid and a robot for the other one, and the rest went in savings and on the credit card. It's not a bad day!

    Really I am curious about my brother as I have used him dependant for the last 10+ years even when he had a job I made more working at the hell known to men {I also know when he was let go from his last job in the final weeks it existed he was gleeful as it ran worse than where I do :bigfrown: }
But will he get a check how will it come?

Really when my money comes it will just get put off to the side as I am sadly saving up to either get a car or flee whichever comes first

Still nothing. The first stimulus check was electronically deposited but then bafflingly the second was a paper check. So I might have to wait a while for the check again.

Well then I'm betting he won't be getting one this time either. Does he qualify for the stimulus? I'm betting he does. You gotta get ahold of folks as to why he didnt get one. Has he not filed taxes at all in the last few years? I imagine that would be why.

If that is the case here is a link that should help get that money. Thats car money right there. https://www.cnet.com/personal-finance/nonfilers-and-stimulus-checks-what-to-do-if-you-never-file-taxes/

Also happy to report that about 5 or so hours post (Moderna I think it was) shot I'm not noticing any fatigue, aches or fever.

I had a few moments of mild weirdness that were mild enough I couldn't actually say if it was the shot or me expecting some weirdness and thus manifesting it myself. Aside from a very light muscle ache at the inoculation point I feel pretty normal. The second one is supposedly rougher so we'll see how that one goes in a couple of weeks.

Huh, I was kinda waiting to see if I'd get a call since I'm above the BMI qualifier and have sleep apnea, but apparently they just recently dropped everything but high risk illness as a qualifier here in Denmark, so basically if you weren't already in the hospital system, it's just by age group now. Which for me means middle of may at earliest.

That's kinda bullshit. Not for me as much, but imagine being told that, well, you're not quite high risk but you're in the risk group just below that, and then a couple of weeks later, "oh no, we dropped that. You're thirty? Yeah, you won't get the vaccine until middle of july or something".

In most other states I count as having a qualifying condition (chronic asthma managed by high doses of corticosteroids) but California has locked down their 1C tier (qualifying medical condition) so hard that you pretty much only qualify if you've had a pulmonary embolism or organ transplant.
At least they've been pretty good about prioritising front line workers and informal care providers, I can't really complain since I don't have to leave my house for my job or anything. Just getting antsy.

Are you guys at least doing the split dosages yet? As in, everyone gets one shot, and then several weeks later their second

Canada just set guidelines that put a max of 4 months between doses so as to hit the most people with imperfect protection, which is the only thing that is making it likely I get some kind of vaccination before mid-June; the manufacturer prescribed shot regimen from before meant I would have only received my first shot sometime in August

Not in the sense of "let's get the first shot in as many people as possible", there's the scheduled break between first and second dosages, depending on which vaccine it is, but you book a time for both when you get the vaccine offer.

I dunno, they keep updating the schedule, one day there's more dosages per delivered vaccine, then the next day one of the manufacturers say they can only deliver X% of what was agreed, so I don't want to focus too much on a wobbly target date. Just recently they paused use of the AstraZeneca vaccine over blood-clotting concerns, and then a couple of days later they pushed forward the scheduled end-date of vaccinations?

I still have no idea when I'll get any shot, and I'm only about 40% confident of getting one at all. But my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc, have all been done so I don't really care. My brother turns 40 a few days before they start doing the 40+ group which is cool.

Yeah he also raised my dose of advair from 100/50 to 250/50 but I've only took one dose of that so far this morning.

I've also got a rescue inhaler for bad days still of albuterol but I hate having to use that because it makes me anxious and my heart kinda palpatate which makes me more anxious which makes my heart rate faster...

Anyway hopefully I can start getting active soon. I'm up to over 2 weeks without pop (except 1 diet coke yesterday which tasted just like regular to me somehow but I'm not counting that because it was 0 calories and I only had it because my mom got it by accident with a lunch she got us. Not planning on making that a habit though.)

so the various vaccines don't stop you from getting covid, they just make covid nowhere near as bad is what i'm hearing. is that true?

It varies is...always my answer to everything, I realize. But basically, post vax you should have antibodies going around your blood, just waiting to bind to any covid virus. You'll also hopefully have some B cells (cells wot make the antibodies) patrolling around looking for it too, and some of each in your tissues too. So in a perfect world, they bind and get the virus gobbled up before it even gets inside a cell. It's so difficult to prove this ever happens because it's super hard to detect very few viruses becoming no viruses in a person, but its theoretically possible. We just call it "undetectable" and move on because good enough.
More likely and more described is the virus gets in you, and gets into some cells, but those cells are quickly identified and destroyed and the cells around them go on high alert so any virus in the area won't replicate well as they also get scanned and destroyed if they are naughty and harboring virus. So did you have covid? Well, it got in your cells so yeah. But would you notice any symptoms? Probably not. And then that perfect to great scenario scales all the way down to people who the vax just didn't work in, it's a gradient. But MOST people should end up in the category where they don't even notice, and then another chunk in the greatly reduced symptoms category and on down the line.

most ideally as everybody's immune system becomes trained to respond strongly quickly by the vaccine, the virus is unable to create sufficient viral loads to spread to new hosts and the virus can't jump to a new host and dies out.

If steroids are helping then it's likely an autoimmune issue.
