The theater nearby opens up this weekend for something other than a church showing with the Demon Slayer movie
My brother wants to go this weekend since it's only $5 but they adjusted the times to be 1600 and later for the first showing
Hold on I think they CGed out this girl's nose hair? I'm sure they do that in movies all the time but I don't think I've ever noticed anything like that.
Tv's have gotten too big and/or you are sitting way too close
Lucas Black's accent sounds weird because basically no one in movies is doing a real southern accent or at least not one from that region
I legitimately forget how varied the "southern accent" is. I'm obviously pretty in tune with the various rural NC/SC accents so some other accents sound like exaggerations of those. Dialects are very cool and interesting.
Edit: time for FF4.
So far this is very melodramatic and pretty boring.

Just because I love this guy's breakdown of accents, check out his "Piney Woods Belt" section of this American Accent breakdown, and then compare that to this first scene with Lucas Black in 2F2F (the section is the last one if the time code link doesn't work):
The way Lucas Black says "She was just admiring...my ride" is like a textbook example of the rhotic version of southern accents that are not portrayed as much in media, because what most people are mimicking is the non-rhotic, the example he gives in the accent video is Blanche's "I've always relied on the kindness of strangers"
Attack the Block was already ahead of its time (and, in a lot of ways, ahead of the times we are currently in), and John Boyega's blockbuster experience has probably given him some, uh, opinions on heroism in film

I can't wait ,till some company in America, makes a bastardized version of ,"Initial D".
Watch them take it from Tokyo, to the hills of Los Angeles, and cast non Asian people instead.
Hssssss but yes, probably
...I feel like they may have, already, hold on.
Hmm, can't find anything rn, I think it was just my initial (heh) reaction to Tokyo Drift. But at least it's in Japan! Touge touge touge (tōge)

Excellent point. "Tokyo Drift" would be the closest thing, to a proper remake to the Japanese live action "Initial D" movie, if an American Studio wanted to adapt it.

Variety is reporting that Amazon is weeks into talks to acquire MGM, to the tune of potentially $9 billion. Variety previously reported that MGM was looking for a buyer and it seems that there's interest from other parties but Amazon is the front runner.
I've been saying for a while that we're headed towards the Bad Old Days where there are five studios, and they contractually own people. And that's gonna suck, for a solid 10-20 years.
But then, because all things are cyclical, that shit'll eventually get busted up and we'll have a new 60s/70s independent renaissance, and then the cycle will begin again.
Is this helpful or soothing? Probably not. Is it true? Maybe! We could also all die due to catastrophic climate change before the cycle has a chance to repeat!

Eat Arby's!
Yeah. Yeah.
I have been saying for years that we are in the new age of robber barons, except they are corporations instead of specific individuals.
Except with the stranglehold those same robber barons have over social media I don't know if there will be the same public push for their dissolution.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

the fight against monopolization is one of the most important in our time because it turns out the economists have been wrong about this issue for the last century and there is no accountability in that profession

When will the consolidation end?
