The charms people here mention almost seem made up. I have exactly one rarity 7 charm, and it gives Recovery Up 2. I assume this has involved a truckload of charm farming?
Thankfully, you don't seem to really need much in the way of stuff like that. Up to Teostra, still in baseline Tobi armor and mostly keeping half my slots filled with Geologist for the incidental money gain because I'm too lazy to swap them in and out.
Hey you guys are super smert. What do you think on ramp-up skill for the hunting horn Bazelreid Rookslayer?
I'm guessing it's the new best HH. It's the only horn in the new top tier, with 220 attack, and earplugs S, attack up, and health recovery L (which is just broken with bead of resonance). Blast element...I would miss paralysis but the rest is great.
Ramp-up choices are Defense Bonus +20, Blast buildup +7, or increase in performance's range. I'm leaning towards the range, but I don't know if it ends up being a marginal increase compared to getting extra blast. But if I'm using this thing to become a healing maniac then range would probably be preferable in a lot of situations.
Don't forget that it can also get white sharpness with Handicraft 2 and Protective Polish.
I guess I would take blast by default, but then I barely play multiplayer, so I'm not sure how big the range difference is.
I've still got 2 deco slots (A 1 and a 3) open for something, though I'll probably put Brace in the 1 slot. Add this to my already insane evade talisman and it's gonna be a good time.

It doesn't take what I would consider a truckload, but maybe I'm more of a farmer than I think.
Before the update I had run rampages enough times to earn apex beastclaws etc. and Ibushi bits to make various gear, particularly rampage weapons. By doing enough rampages to craft these weapons and an Ibushi armor/weapon set (just for fun, I know it's not too good), I had earned enough defender tickets and other high level materials to do a full load of melding.
You do Wisp of Mystery meld. Each time you do it you can deposit enough parts to get 5 charms in one meld, and then you can do that 10 times, getting you 50 charms 10 missions later. I like to open my presents all at once. :P I have found that doing this practically guarantees getting at least 5 rarity 7 charms, and you might get many more.
Doing this once, I wouldn't consider a truckload of farming, but I've done it a couple times. I was able to do this because I wanted to kill every monster at least 10 times for the sake of earning their wall scroll, so that meant 10 rampages of each apex monster and Ibushi. So from doing all that I think I've got 30-40 rarity 7 charms but most of them are crap anyway.
I did get a WEX 2, ranged something-or-other 1, with one single slot in it.
Apparently there is a secret item you can get if you complete the arena quests all of them with every weapon type (score not mattered)
Iv only used dual blades this is going to be.. interestingly comical
Where did you find info about this? All I have seen is that there is an item for bow users simply for beating every arena quest, NOT with every weapon type. Bow users are a little up in arms that they alone have to suffer through arena for this.

I assume this would most likely be granted through a skill. Kiranico is pretty exhaustive and is already updated to the latest patch, and I see no skill that mentions anything like this:https://mhrise.kiranico.com/data/skills
Ohhhhh ok. I read that this was datamined from the demo but wasn't in the game as far as anyone knew, and there's almost no discussion about it online!

Yeah, I've done everything else in Rise, but I'm not going to bother with this. It's a hell of a lot of work to unlock an item for an equipment slot I literally can't change from Mighty Bow Feather, lol.
Would someone who feels pretty authoritative mind recommending a charge blade build, or at least the top required skills?
Load shells and rapid morph are pretty great.
Load shells lvl2 means yellow charge fully fills your phials.
Rapid morph just speeds the transitions up so much that I can't live without.
After that, you want normal damage skills/evade skills to taste.
My current build is narg CB, Almudron helm, zinogre chest, rathalos bracers, narg waist, rajang pants and a wex 2 talisman. This can definitely be improved but it feels meaty. The waist can be swapped to the rathalos pants to hit AB7 if you don't need the evade extender.
i made teo's full set and swaxe/hammer so now i all i need from him is enough shit to craft MT decos, which is gonna be a longterm goal given that's like, 24 lazurites and i still wanna make razor sharp and crit boost first

It depends on what type of build you're going for.
If you're going Condensed Element Slash with Impact phials, it's worth bearing in mind that your phial explosions scale with raw, but not sharpness or affinity. Offensive Guard is your biggest raw boost and easy to trigger. Attack 4 or 7 is nice on top of that. Tenderizer is still good if you can fit it, but I'm not sure how much raw it's worth sacrificing for it...it partially depends on how good you are at landing SAEDs. The fewer you get, the better Tenderizer is. I don't think Critical Boost is worth it, especially when the best impact SAs have negative starting affinity anyway. It was arguably worth going all the way to Bludgeoner before 2.0, but now that Tenderizer is cheaper to slot in and we have Tigrex as a new natural white option with solid raw I very much doubt that's still the case (I haven't actually run all the numbers, but there's basically no way Tigrex isn't the best Impact Charge Blade). Artillery works on impact phials too.
I don't have any real experience with element phials yet. Artillery and raw don't affect those, so Tenderizer is probably better than Attack Boost for these due to slot efficiency. You want to have enough one-slot charms for at least some amount of element attack, I'd imagine.
If you're going the Condensed Spinning Slash route, you'd just build it like any other damage-focused Blademaster weapon. I imagine you'd want evasion skills in there since you need the mobility and don't really want to be using guard points.
I go back and forth on whether I like Rapid Morph or lot. The damage boost doesn't matter much, but the speed increase make certain attack patterns feel a lot better. Probably depends on your personal playstyle. If you have trouble finding SAED possibilities and like going in and out of axe mode it might be good (I'm probably going to end up in this category).
I've heard of people running Load Up (yellow glow fills all 5 phials), but I personally have more trouble spending phials than gaining them, so that doesn't really work for me.

Got EE and something else with a level 2 slot, so I'm at least happy for now. Gotta farm up some magna kills for some attack decos, makes the Magna LBG set.
"I will write your name in the ruin of them. I will paint you across history in the color of their blood."
I think this is the most satisfying Shoruken I've done so far (and shoutouts to having a Chun Li kinda outfit while doing it). The thing basically gets launched by it.
I don't know if Metsu Shoryugeki is actually better than the other silkbind attack, though. It's at least a bit better for this weapon, since I'm not exploiting elements anyway.
For aquaglow I ended up doing thast stupid Khezu + Arzuros quest a ton of times, and then repeated a bunch of the switch skill unlock quests.
It was easily the most annoying thing I've farmed so far though.
Is it based on number of monsters killed so two easy ones is better than one?
No idea, I just saw that it had a high droprate on kiranico, it was super fast, and I got 1-2 jewels per run, occasionally more.
I'm sure there's a better one to farm, but I just ended up sticking with that one. Pretty sure it was Khezu + Tetranadon, actually, nos sure why I thought of Arzuros.
God aquaglow charm farming sucks. For now I'm just clearing random 4* quests but for a while I was just capping arzuros over and over
you really just need to, like, wait for them while you run quests
i seem to recall i got some from one of the apex quests though? maybe the drop rates are good there?
Aquaglows don't show up in the higher rank quests.
i looked this up because i wanted to know, but they drop from almost all of the 4-8* Hub quests, though you are correct that the apexes don't drop them, nor do rampages.
in fact the best drop rates are an (additional) x2 Aquaglow jewel from H*8 A Blaze Among Beasts, the triple monster quest with the juiced rathian in it.
that seems to be where i remember getting 3 at once, a welcome and surprising event. i was wrong about apexes, they just drop a lot of lazurites and blood jewels.
capturing that arzuros might be the shortest time per jewel, but i got mine by farming whatever i was normally farming and picking them up along the way,
since the total rewards are way better, rather than just getting a ton of useless arzuros parts for my time investment.
Been watching some YouTube vids looking for weapon guides and I noticed some players have a red arrow on their hunter. I guess it points them to the quest monster, is this a skill or UI menu option?

Yes, it's an optional thing to turn on that leads you to the monster you've set at your camera focus with R3
I don't know what it is about these elders but I sure do like killing them with other monsters. Finished off another Chamelos today via Narga tail slam, and then beat Teostra via Rakna. (Was that last one killing fire with spider?)

I was joking with my son about nearly triple-carting to my first HR Magnamalo. Really wanted that bastard dead for carting me twice so I snagged the Rathalos that just zoned in to sleep-flamebreath magna to death.

I am basically at endgame every possible branch weapon, and since I'm duals, I need 50 aquaglow gems to max every element.

i'm kinda surprised you don't have them already just from doing that
i've had my resistance gems and elemental gems maxed for a fair while, and i didn't make more than a handful of midtier sets and weapons

Yeah that's when I was using it.
Ever since the patch came out it's just dead.
I'm putting together a rapid-fire LBG build right now and the deco list was a little crazy
3 WEX
3 Absorber
3 Rapid-Fire Up
2 Crit Boost
1 Pierce
1 Quickload
