I only played a few hours of Amalur on 360, but my big takeaway from what I played was: you are rewarded for mixing class specs. Most games you only get the cool skills on the tree if you min-max. All magic/no strength or all strength/no magic, etc. Amalur had skills on the trees where you had to mix your specs to get them. That seemed neat.
Overall the game really seemed like a cool “What if Skyrim and God of War had a baby?”
Amalur is a fun-enough combat engine stapled to the single most boring fantasy world and story I've maybe ever encountered
Whole thing has about as much flavor as a dry napkin

I played probably 20 hours of it and even when I press myself to remember it, I can’t really visualize any of it, such is the absolute generic black hole that it was.
Definitely was fun, gameplay-wise though. But man it was like someone mashed together the most derivative, boring bits of Elder Scrolls and Warcraft.

Kingdoms of Amalur was a game that was planned to lead into an MMO. Noted shitbag and former professional baseball player Curt Schilling was...either a founder or executive in that company, which then took out a large business loan from the state of Rhode Island to develop the MMO. The MMO never came out and the company went under, and Curt Schilling went on to get a job calling baseball games for ESPN before he got fired because he couldn't stop being racist online. He also hasn't gotten into the baseball hall of fame even though his stats say he probably should because even baseball writers thought it was a bit much

You know you done fucked up when even baseball writers think you’re too racist.

Thinkin about going back through God of War again...did that get a ps5 pretty patch or no? Not a big deal if not though, it was plenty nice to look at already and without the Pro Turbine distracting me it can only be better
I'm playing through the Halo games in the MCC, haven't played since ODST. It's cool how they updated graphics and sound for 1 & 2, but it makes for a weird backwards step when you hit 3.
Also I had forgotten how frustrating parts of the CE campaign are.
Yeah I never touched a Forza before Horizon 3, and I still have no interest in the main Motorsport series but I like the Horizons plenty.
I don’t worry about getting specific cars, I just like making the ones I have look ugly with 5 minute paint jobs.
I don’t worry about “tuning” a car to make this little meter go up and that one go down and blah… I just look on the Community Suggestions thing for a tune with a high number and go with that.
And the Horizons being more Fun Racing and less sim helps a lot because I don’t have to be all “oh I need to make this turn 2.5 degrees better to catch up and I’d better worry about the track texture and blah…” when it’s more “we’re racing through streets and then into fields and over jumps and this is fun times”
Even if you don’t think you like Car Games, I’d encourage you to give one of the Horizons a try.
i like going into the community paintjobs to get some real ugly motherfuckers
I feel like if you go and make a paint job for one of the earlier cars you get for free, and it gets practically any traction popularity-wise, you’d probably be set with weekly money drops from people getting your design… especially near the game’s launch.

I got to wondering if there's a niche in the Forza community designs for just a single bumper sticker or decal. Like, can I get a stock design with a small surprised Pikachu and/or a sticker insulting our local Murdoch paper?
If my experience attempting it last time, it will tell you it’s putting you in a line, load for like 30 seconds, and dump you back to the walmart front page

Alright, between those accessibility options and that you can just let the opening button prompt of the game hang out forever is really giving me a hugely positive first impression of Guardians of the Galaxy.

im about halfway through and i adore it. Its a fantastic game, the combat is super fun, with lots of unique animations and things to do, and the story and worlds are superb.

Okay yeah, as mentioned, the difficulty and accessibility options in Guardians of the Galaxy are really, really good. The Dolby Atmos support is also fantastic and the game sounds amazing.
It’s also a lot of fun! Almost feels a bit like FFVII Remake in the combat.

Rolled credits on Guardians.
What a good video game. What a good experience.
Massive props to the writers and the voice actors. There's so much good dialog in this.

In my experience, when people refer to "Horizon" it's been pretty clear from context whether they're talking about Zero Dawn/Forbidden West or Forza...

Kingdoms of Amalur had a bit of a fraught existence under its original owner

Nintendo is shuttering their California and Toronto offices, consolidating to their headquarters in Washington and Vancouver.
Hopefully some of this stuff is in Infinite as I would totally rock a Clippy name plate.

Sci-fi Myth? Hell yeah I was excited about that.
The last Horizon game was super friendly to non car people.
I should know, I'm one of them.
Or maybe someone could just fucking make a new Burnout c'mon EA release Criterion from not-Burnout prison
