Only thing that's sour is that these heirloom packs are both insanely expensive AND time-limited.
Fuuuuuuck that FOMO bullshit. Warframe is like one of the only live services where you could get away from this crap.
Language leaves open the possibility that the collections won't return after '23 but that doesn't necessarily mean the skins couldn't, but considering the question that also seems like a super shady dodge if true.
they have done lots of SKINS that are limited time only before, that is not unusual
Aside from a couple of weapons like the Prime Gaming ones (I think Banshee got some tacky one?) and cross-promotional stuff, I don't really recall more than that.
So yeah, it's pretty unusual when compared to the library. And even if it wasn't unusual, that's still not an excuse. I don't like THOSE instances, either. I don't think someone should be locked out of getting anything just because they joined late, and that's speaking as a Founder. The promotional ones are understandable for being time-limited because contracts run out. This ain't that shit.
And the attachments are a completely new slot with new attachment functionality, too, just to make the sting of missing it extra painful.
e: Were the Lunar Grendel skins time-limited? They might've been. That shit is also bullshit.
Have they not sold limited time warframe skins many times before? I could have sworn they had, maybe I'm just thinking of skins they advertise in limited time bundles when they're new but are still available to buy seperately afterwards.
I think there's a switch Loki one, a PSN Ivara one, and... phase something.
We might see those return for everyone when cross-save becomes a thing.
They're relatively minor skins with some channels moved around, and the loki one honestly looks pretty tacky.
Other stuff that used to be exclusive was prime accessories but DE thankfully changed their policy on that and started offering primed accessories from previous packs on a rotation.
I wish Razorwing Blitz had a cap on movement speed tbh lol.
Like yes it is fun to zoom across an open world faster than an archwing ever could, but in the other 99% of content I'm just teleportbonking myself into walls.

Yeah, I stopped running with Blitz because it was too fast for my ancient reflexes to handle.
Ugh, Halls of Ascension and Index as elite weeklies.
Yep. Not doing those. On the other hand 3xCapture and 1xSortie are relatively quick regular weeklies.

This game is really something. Once again returning after a long break, I'm impressed. I ran through the Duviri Paradox and although there's some "huh?" moments in the story, I just let it wash over me and enjoy the aesthetics. I really like the not-horse. I did something or other that unlocked Archon Shards, so I finally built a Helminth segment and then the Archon one. It feels like there must be a big power gap between where I stopped really trying, and up to date fully built out frames. I've never pushed on arcanes (I have several but none ranked, and don't really think about them), haven't done very much with focus, haven't helminthed anything, and now these shards.
I remember the power spikes when I first tried some solid mod combos (like blood rush/weeping wound builds), using slash, or actually pumping up a specific weapon and riven. What have these gotta add to that??
It would be fun to make a warframe really disgustingly strong and get into the steel path. I need to spend some time staring at the wiki and my arsenal to pick a favorite frame/weapon combo or two.
If you use Helminth, Archon Shards, focus tree, and the gun arcanes (which is sounds like you didn't really hit), you will see a very, very large power jump for your frames.
Incarnon weapons from Steel Path Circuit are the current power creep du jour, so if you can snag a good one from the rotation and fold that into the above, you will absolutely decimate Steel Path. Some, like the Torid incarnon, are idiotically powerful.

6 wiki hops later I know what the steel path circuit is. I hadn't done the other 2 modes of Duviri so I was trying those when during my roughly 5th time through I figured out that decrees were something I could use instead of just a currency or something. My gear wheel is bound to X so the popup in the screen just looked like it had an x to close next to it. Pretty different experience actually using them!

I promise I'll stop live bloggin my return soon, but I was happy to see that this week's (not Steel Path) Duviri Circuit has both Harrow and Nidus as options. They're both frames I still don't have after several on-and-off years and being MR18, so if you don't either here's a different way to pick one up!
(I was going to say an easy way, but I don't really know how much time it takes to finish a circuit. At least it's non-RNG.)

I've never really run Nidus before, and wow, he is cracked. It's not hard at all to beef Parasitic Link to a multiplicative 100% increase to your overall power strength. At the end after a lot of testing I threw Nourish over his 4 for funnies and to off-set the reduced efficiency from blind rage, and yeesh, I must've had over 700% power strength to see energy orbs giving 200 energy.
And also wow I also see why Nidus mains get frustrated sometimes at allies that just refuse to let you have any stacks. Bruhs I need to eat.

It isn't the next warframe
It isn't infested liches or whatever
It's the pet rework.

also log in to the game during tennocon to get the dex operator suit thing
apparently you only have to log in to the game sometime during the 26th
Ironically, despite being the one to post about the twitch drops, I forgot all about them
Pablo after is like "I guess people like reworks?" and I know he's joking but YES. WE DO. lol.
The next update(s?) look wild. I genuinely am confused. Is 1999 a spin-off or the next major update after Walls? It's so wildly different.

1999 isn't a spin-off, it's just more story stuff. Looks like time travel shenanigans, good times.

Index on the lowest setting with Khora in a public was a snap. Sorties just drag forever.
I did combine three captures with ten syndicate missions though. Nice double dip.

More like DE is making their own Dark Sector.
