Probably, not sure if there are any other viable ways to get companion shields that high than warframe abilities that work on them

Is there a shield-link mod like there is for health and armor? Maybe that is the more obvious way

Hmm for reinforced bond, does stuff like volt's 4 augment apply the overshield to the companion too?

    Well according to the post
The restrictions of the following abilities and features, as they apply to granting Health, Shields, or Damage Resistance to Pets. have been removed:
    • Warding Halo
    • Blessing
    • Immolation
    • Blood Altar
    • Splinter Storm
    • Intrepid Stand
    • Eclipse
    • Discharge
    • Desolate Hands
    • Penance
    • Thurible
    • Mend & Maim
    • Sancti Magistar
    • Protective Sling

So yeah Volt's Discharge should add shields.

Duplex bond sounds good. But companions don't really ever kill anything, so you'll never really get the energy. But I guess you can have a massive herd of clones with certain frames.

  • DacDac Registered User regular
My question is if the clones are full clones and have individual cooldowns for abilities, or if they're just additional pewpew.

If the former yeah no shit Charm is gonna get nerfed lol.

Yeah we could be in for a weird situation where people are going to have either 1000% more crit and/or increasing drop amounts on items by absurd amounts as well. If they inherit those things anyway.

Also doesn't one of the robots just actively drop energy anyway? That could be a fun feedback loop as well.

There's also a moa attack mod that gives them max overshield every time they use it, which is frequently, so uptime would be very good.

    Finished the Duviri quest.

... how do the three... modes? work? If you're doing Story Mode are you just... doing the quest again with all the cutscenes? Really not sure if I understand it. Duviri is *pretty* though.

I'm torn between being honestly compelled by the story and completely burned out on the grindiness inherent in Warframe.

The Duviri experience is a set of 6 of the little duviri mini tasks, but also the map is loaded up with various optional tasks so you can just pile on 235235 decrees and be a god.
Solo Story is just a set of 6 duviri tasks, no optional content. It's what you want if you are after a lot of pathos clamps for crafting/unlocks
Circuit is endlessly chaining Undercroft missions, that fills a bar to give you rewards based on which circuit path you choose. It has a Steel Path reward track as well, which has some tasty gubbins.

It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

It is very burn out inducing at least for me because you get nothing of value in the real world from doing any of it. No relic cracking no exp in any weapon or frame. I guess you get a lot of focus but meh.

You get incarnon adapters from SP circuit. I wouldn't call the best guns in the game 'nothing of value'.

    Eh?

Circuit drops base frames, some of which are a total pain to get any other way. And SP Circuit drops Incarnon stuff.

Duviri drops Pathos Clamps, which you need to buy Incarnon adapters. And various melee sets. And the Duviri shop takes clamps for Reactors/adapters etc., which is super useful.

And Duviri intrinsics affect "base" Warframe at level 9 or so, including some very useful Necramech upgrades...

And then there's Kullervo dropping every so often.

It's not exactly a rewardless space even if you only want stuff that ports to the base game.

  • FiendishrabbitFiendishrabbit Registered User regular
It does boil down to material grind with no XP for your frames and guns. You do get kullervo, incarnon stuff and the insane melee weapons (syam, sampotes and azothane are some of the hardest hitters and sun&moon is a meat grinder)

You can get XP for frames and guns, but only if the ones that need XP show up in rotation

See but there are enough powerful guns in the game where you only really need incarnon adapters for making it more likely that you can get a good gun in circuit. And incarnon adapters usually require several forma inserted into the gun which is also not paying out xp.

Base frames are a good point. I never would have gotten base khora if not for circuit. I would regard it a lot better if the circuit gave the tororids you actually need to build hildryn instead of just the parts you get while you get the toroids.

I don't know. I was doing the SP circuit to 10 each week and it kind of killed the enjoyment of warframe to me. YMMV.

yeah circuit and duviri in general are not rewarding enough for content silos outside of themselves for how much fucking time it takes
game is already on thin ice in normal content that DOES give mastery exp and generally useful resources and faction rep for me

I did a lot of duviri, and while I didn't get burned out exactly, I for sure got burned IN to baldur's gate 3. It's given me time to yearn for a little warframe again, though I still have quite a bit of gating to do first.

Take with a grain of salt but a content creator says that [DE]Zach posted in the private creator's section of the warframe discord that the way that the shield gate will work will be based on the max shields you were able to recover since the last break.

ie. if you have max 1k shields, and you have 1k shields, but you take five hits of 200 damage, you will get the gate for 1k shields.
if you have max 1k shields, and you recover 500, and take three hits of 200 damage, you get the gate for 500 shields.

    Um.

You can equip multiple bonds to a companion.

I did not expect that. I thought they would be mutually exclusive. My brain is melting with the possibilities of these new mods now.

Seriously. So many different synergies to play with, I can't even process. Plus with the changes to the health/shield mods, I can run whatever pet on whatever frame.

Channeled energy drain counts for Duplex Bond. Was wondering if it would, and it's nice that it does.

if you mean the new companion mods, son sells them on deimos I believe. There's a new corrupted mod that drops from random dragon key doors in corrupted orokin missions, but there's also an alert up to get that one in particular, 6 more days or somesuch.

  • RanlinRanlin Oh gosh Registered User regular
Maybe that changed when crossplay happened?

  • EtiowsaEtiowsa Registered User regular
Ah, I read it wrong. It's not a discount, it's a multiplier. They can't discount it in the shop so they just give you extra for buying it.

  • SpoitSpoit *twitch twitch* Registered User regular
That's still better than the one item coupons they used to have

  • EtiowsaEtiowsa Registered User regular
Especially since those coupons couldn't be applied to bundles.

  • BahamutZEROBahamutZERO Registered User regular
a multiplier is pretty close to functionally the same thing, just means the cheapest option won't cost less

how does the abyssal zone mission work? I tried public queuing for it but got sent in solo. And thus was only able to extract with one of the macguffins. Do you have to use a premade party to do it multiplayer and get more of the rewards?

i ran it as ivara and went back and forth collecting 4 i think?
it gets dropped at the exit and i just went back and got more.

iunno how many it gave me credit for but i got 8 of the thingies that are the reason to do that mission.
