Where would you (or other hypothetical list makers) put The Simpsons if you only included the good seasons? What >100 number would the bad seasons land on?

i purposely didn't include any animated sitcoms because i think they operate under just enough different sets of rules that they open the floodgates for just "any comedy show" and i would have too large a sample size

Looked at the Rolling Stone list. It's not the worst thing I've seen. The Nanny missing is weird and the Addams Family missing is absolutely a miss.

With that said, I would have liked to see the Drew Carey show make it, but that's probably my preference.

Also, I'd remove that trash heap Big Mouth from the list altogether (and off TV if I could).

Like I'm going to read something you wrote.

I think I would include Parks and Rec over B99 or The Good Place myself. B99 because I just generally think it's better, and The Good Place because after the first season it becomes increasingly less of a sitcom (and increasingly less good, if you ask me).

But Parks and Rec is also a show that I'm pretty content never going back to because I know it has a lot of stuff that I don't like which I still remember, and that means there has gotta be way more where that came from.

@Straightzi is the stuff you don't like related to the jokes themselves, or stuff that hasn't aged well over the years?

    A mix of both.

I mean, the politics of Parks and Rec have aged horribly, I think that goes without saying. Some of it was already pretty bad while the show was airing.

There's also some semi-frequent fatphobia (a Schur specialty) and I just generally don't vibe with the "look at these dumb hicks" tone it can get to sometimes.

Overall it's still got a lot of stuff I like, but I'm fairly happy to keep that stuff in my memory rather than rewatching it. I'm also not the biggest TV show rewatcher in general - I know that's a comfort thing for a lot of folks, but there are very few shows that I've watched like that.

I still love parks & rec

I agree that it hasn't aged well, but the ways in which it has aged poorly are very different from, say, 30 Rock

which is to say, 30 Rock is also still good, but watching it means you'll occasionally have to sit through Tina Fey being an asshole to fat people, and trans people, and especially sex workers (who she hates the most), and if you're watching from a disc it also means they do a bunch of fuckin' blackface

parks & rec has aged badly because its brand of center-left liberal positivity is brain poison, demonstrably doesn't work, and everyone here knows somebody who still won't shut the fuck up about Russiagate or whatever

I know it probably doesn't quite fit the sitcom mold, but I really wish we could get more shows along the vein of Galavant. Which, related to sitcoms and apparently Joshua Sasse's horrible luck, I really wish we could have gotten another season of No Tomorrow as well.

They will initially be on the gizmoplex but will then go to the other things. Shout Factory will be releasing the season on disc as well. These will not all come out at once like the Netflix ones.
