That says 12 PST. It's daylight time for most of America though. Is that a typo or do they actually mean Pacific Standard Time and it's gonna be at 1pm PDT/4 EDT?

Super just announced his retirement today. Not a huge surprise other than it coming this late, but he's streaming now and it was clearly a really hard decision for him.
My guess is that he was hoping OW2 would rekindle his desire to compete, it didn't and he couldn't bring himself to go through an entire season hating what he was doing just for the sake of not "letting down" his team.
It does put his team in a bind in the short term, but I respect his willingness to make the hard choice for his own mental wellbeing and the long-term success of the team.
Crusty will work his magic and they'll be fine. Super is an icon at this point and his stream is going to explode going full-time. He's pretty much accomplished everything you could hope to as a pro-esports player. 2 chips and a finals MVP on top of all of the stage titles. If your heart ain't in it at that point then just walk away as one of the GOATs of Overwatch.
Oh I totally agree. But the attitude you need to excel the way he did will also make you feel unduly guilty when it's time to leave, so I can see why it would hit him so hard. Absolutely nobody is being as hard on him as he's being on himself, for sure.
Valiant sign Ezhan after releasing MYKaylee, who was never officially announced. They still don't have a tank on the roster.
Atlanta sign Speedily, the only remaining American Tornado player. He isn't eligible to play until August but he should slot right into the lineup once he is. Nero will be solid throughout the season but he is easily benched but Speedily I think. Them plus Kai and Venom is a really good DPS line.
There's not much news right now but there is one fairly significant story relating to the pro scene and London Spitfire signee, Prov1de, going on at the moment. Trigger warning for grooming/sexual abuse/etc.
Prov1de, who made racist comments several years ago, was signed by London awhile back because he was "reformed", paraphrasing London GM, Noukky.
We now have new accusations from Twitter user, Emma, that Prov1de sent unsolicited dick pics and exhibited grooming behavior towards them. This occurred when Pov1de was 20 and Emma was 16, a little over 3 years ago.

people who seem eager to forgive him are pointing out that this is all stuff from a few years ago and he's "changed" or whatever, but I haven't really seen anything to support that other than "he hasn't done anything publicly in a while" which probably isn't enough to make up for...all of this combined shit
he already got denied a spot in the league once, not gonna be surprised to see it happen again
I think people should have the opportunity for a second chance but I do not think that it has to be in the same career field. Go do something else and rebuild your reputation that way. Come back another time when you've actually shown improvement. Someone that's not a vile human being and is just as good at the game deserves that spot right now.

Chengdu ended their relationship with Rui. He was acting as a consultant after having the team. Rui is the Chengdu Zone so this feels like more of a death knell than the rumors.
Rumors from Halo are that London are planning to sign Landon at flex support from Solaris and that Florida have signed Xzi.
Xzi, Hydron, Checkmate, Mirror is kind of a nasty DPS line. Anamo and Kariv supports is a bit suspect. It's been awhile since they've been top tier at their roles. Someone and Adam on tank (Mirror flex to cover Doomfist?) could be solid but is a hard to predict.
Kariv is such an odd case, on the one hand he's a mechanical god, but on the other hand he also just makes bad decisions pretty regularly. He's in that zone of being a good player who keeps being on bad teams, and like at some point you gotta think he's a part of why his teams keep underperforming. But he also still has the potential to just take over a map now and then.

I think in season 1 or 2 (maybe even 3), that would've been a great DPS line. This year, I think that's bottom three. Xxi and Hydron are the only two I really rate and they cover the same hero pool.
If Florida isn't the worst or second worst team in NA, I think that'll be on the back of the coaching.

Florida tweeted the other day that they were parting ways with Mirror. So that's interesting.
In other news, Doomfist and Orisa's reworks have been officially detailed. We heard leaks and those were accurate. I'm very excited about both of these. Also Doomfist's new look is extremely rad. No new Orisa look though, maybe still polishing one up?

dev update noon tomorrow
Yeah the fact that they're having a closed alpha first shows me they aren't ready to show off the game yet.
If people want live gameplay they'll probably have to wait for the beta.

So far, no official statement from Noukky or the London Spitfire organization has been issued, at least none that I am aware of.
I wonder if there will be a day when Gamer culture doesn't breed this kind of shit.
He used to go by the name "Slur".

the short and depressing answer is, yeah
as mentioned Smash and any other esport where people routinely meet up in person especially have massive issues
there's also a correlation between gaming team houses and scurvy
Do you know how hard it is to get scurvy? You have to really try
aaaaand provide is gone
again
Looks like Chengdu is trying to save some money and might be losing Leave and their entire support line.
