San-Diego comic-con

It's hard to believe, but Comic-Con 2007 is right around the corner. It seems like only yesterday when 123,000 of our closest friends descended on the San Diego Convention Center for the four-day celebration of all things pop culture. In our 38th year, we once again carve four days out of the warm summer to celebrate all things comic, with a good measure of the popular arts added in. That's right: we're doing it again and you're invited!
I have a question. I won't have an opportunity to make this one, so I do have a question. Would anyone going be willing to pick me up a grimlock statue by any chance?
I'll have to sit down and honestly think about whether I should offer to pick people up stuff. I've never been before and I don't know what sort of time I'll have to devote and when. I know shit like that goes super fast sold out on hour one of day one, and the lines are mondo-long.
Yeah, I'll think about it.

Just don't go too crazy with orders. I'd hate to spend all day shopping for other people instead of enjoying the convention.
I won't be there this year. I just don't have the time or money this year to make it out there. I really wanted to go again. Last year was amazing for Bogey and I so I guess I can take this year off and not feel too badly about it.

I'm trying to make last-minute arrangements to go - too many of my online friends/acquaintances/peeps are coming this year to pass it up.
Also my artist friend and I have a pitch we want to make. This may not be as farfetched as it sounds, since this year, if I go, I have the proverbial hook-up.
I don't suppose anyone could pick up the exclusive MLP for me?
It's $10 and usually they don't run out. I'm dying to get one, so if I could PayPal the money to anyone . . . I mean, look at it in all its garish glory!

I told Bogey recently that he was and is at the top of my "People That Don't Need to Go to a Celebrity Yatcht Party List."

You're just upset because I took him instead of you. :P

Everyone else can cram walnuts.
Mostly because I've encountered them already and I'm over it.
In other news, Stan Sakai is the nicest guy at Comic Con.
so much
Absolute New Frontier is probably the only thing I'll bring to get signed
unless Gail Simone is there
then I'll probably bring Birds of Prey #100 or something
yeah
good thing I don't want to
I'd be disappointed
I need to see Warren Ellis
I will fight some motherfuckers or something
it's just that i haven't read enough of his stuff to care about getting him to sign something or whatever
shit I don't even own anything by him
otherwise I would have held off until '08
we will fight all the bitches in the Ellis line, and then tan their hides and make a leather coat for Warren Ellis
yes
Unfortunately it'll probably be at least 09 before I can.
Anyway, what's the big convention in Florida? Because I can make that one easily.
Also, you know... fully reimburse you plus a little extra.

I'm in Fresno so, while it's a decent-size trip, it's not completely insane.
I hope that guest list gets longer. Last year Ryan Sook was there, and I'd love to get another chance to get a sketch from him.
You don't have to suck them all off
And maybe I won't get my heart broken by a C-list celebrity...
I think I'll get the Madam Mirage #1 Wizard World Philadelphia variant and have Paul Dini sign it at Comic-Con

So I have to destroy a small desert village?
why are you asking him if he's a spider

It's unpossible, if you go on the trade floor you will drop cash
