Clearing out Illium and watching the bartender behind Conrad put her head in her hands when he says that his wife even paid for him to go off world was god damn hilarious. I am not much of a fan of being put back on the Normandy after every major mission though. But, I got my super spy space elf wife back, so it's all good.

That bartender is one of my favourite continuity pieces between ME2 and ME3.
Civics is not a consumer product that you can ignore because you don’t like the options presented.
Miranda's ass itself isn't toned down at all, though. Just that one camera angle.
Which a friend of mine was "outraged" about (still not sure if serious or somewhat sarcastic/exaggeration theater'd, but Miranda is his preferred space waifu), until I pointed out photo mode to him...

hence the absolute intellectual bankruptcy, even for a angry gamer boner storm in a teacup shitfit that was. like you're really gonna complain that you actively have to be a weird pervert instead of having your pointless and obtrusive cheesecake curated for you? like it really ruined the artistic preservation to not have a framed shot of a character's butt while she is literally talking about her tragic history of literal emotional child abuse.

Started up Mass Effect Andromeda. Still relatively early in it, just met the Angara. I can definitely see where a lot of the narrative and tonal criticisms are coming from. I think moving away from the military perspective in the original trilogy was definitely a good move, but the whole YA fiction tone everything has feels a bit too much. I think somewhere between this tone and something like Star Trek TNG would've been better. Still bright and optimistic but taking itself a bit more seriously.
Also, a minor thing, but I kind of wish you'd get even more mobility with biotics. Like, they do the aesthetic replacement so you're doing your jumps/dodges with biotics instead of the suit jets, but you're doing the same exact moves, so it kind of feels pointless.
I also find it amusing that they wanted to tone down Miranda's ass, but left Samaras cleavage in, lol.
If they were trying to tone down the ass shots, either they didn’t do a great job or there were A LOT more ass shots than I remember.
It was really just one very particular instance, not the whole gamut. Of which, yeah, there's a fair few.
The fact that that particular shot ended with 'Investigate' being directly position over her ass had a lot to do with it. Easy screenshot meme potential.

I came across a mod on nexus to restore the butt-cam. (I did not install it.)
It popped up in my news feed the other day, the modder had I think made one for the original ME2 that removed the camera angle, and that this was "reluctantly" modded back in, which struck me as a little odd.

"reluctantly"
because someone has a gun to their head if they don't mod it back in?

Exactly. Like, at that point don't do it, right? If someone else wants to have a go, good for them.
But then maybe the modder would get deluged with hate mail. This is the internet after all. Maybe they did it to get some peace and quiet.
I'm almost afraid to ask - does it include the phrases "restoring the developers' intended vision" or "cancel culture"?
As I recall, it's from the person who created the original mod that removed said butt shots in Mass Effect 2 in the first place (feel free to correct me).
"Cancel culture" come full circle. Everything new is old again.

I’m still reading through everyone’s experience with the Legendary Edition, which I got in May and have a couple things I’ve been meaning to say.
1) This is my first time playing as a vanguard and now I understand. Charging (followed by nova) is just…just the absolute best.
2) Whatever flaws the Mako may have, ramming Geth/mercs/ whoever and launching them across the field is still delightful. See also: blasting them with rockets.
3) I’m playing ME3 now and finished the Citadel DLC main story, and just met Garrus at the bar. I don’t remember if I’ve seen it before but I laughed so hard at “Come here often? I imagine anyone who does is probably an alcoholic.”
So i reinstalled Windows earlier today and what i thought was backed up save files wasn't so, err... Is there a save file editor i could use to get a ME1LE save file to where i had left off (Noveria and Feros complected + all the side quests available at that point)? Never used a save file editor before.

Maybe I’m crazy but ME2 soldier feels like a better sniper than infiltrator. Adrenaline Rush + Viper = 1 very dead enemy. I like powers a lot but it’s pretty fun to run n gun even on insanity. Of course the Mattock is busted as hell because you can fire just as fast while in AR as you can outside it.
How do folks feel about soldier in ME3?
One thing I noticed last go-round is on ME3, weapons feel like pea shooters. Powers are combos rule the roost. The soldier seems to have great ways to set off combos (special ammo + grenade/concussive shot) but it also seems like soldiers can get really screwed by the weapon weight cooldown penalty. And AR doesn’t seem nearly as good in 3 as in 2, with way less time dilation and bonus damage.
As I’m wrapping up 2 again, I’m looking for thoughts on soldier in 3. Do I stick with it or go for a different class?
Despite having played a couple hours yesterday (got up to Grissolm Academy), I'm probably going to restart ME3 in the future, most because I realized I didn't meet to criteria in ME2 to meet Kelly Chambers in the third game. A minor issue (especially since I think this was mostly on account of finding her conversations rather...cringingly uncomfortable), but oh well.
I'm more annoyed that despite clearing LotSB, and going out on the whole date with Liara, the achievement for romantic liaison between 2 Mass Effect titles didn't pop (apparently this is notoriously buggy). I might just have to load some pre-Suicide Mission save and see about jumping into bed with Garrus (since you just need to have successfully completed his loyalty mission) and get it that way.
EDIT: Is it possible to go through the whole dialog tree with Kelly (not necessarily romance her) even after completing all the other missions/assignments in ME2? Or is it timing dependent?
Does anyone else experience glitches with controller triggers on PC? Occasionally, the game will get stuck where both left and right triggers start firing your gun. Most guns it's an annoyance when it happens, but it makes it near impossible to use sniper rifles since you can't aim without firing first. It also seems to randomly lose deadzone on the triggers such that barely breathing on them fires your gun. Don't have another controller to test with, but never noticed anything like it in other games before, so makes me think it's a game bug and not a hardware issue.

Just remember that half the people you meet are below average intelligence.

Mass Effect is a glitchy game. The sequels aren't exempt, but ME1 seems to worse for it, and that still seems to be true. Two things come to mind: first, assault rifles getting stuck in "autofire" animation (not actually firing, as I recall, just appearing to do so). This happened more than a few times when I played the original game on PC.
Second, and this is in legendary--the camera's direction breaking with the animation alignment, so your character is constantly planning either left or right. This seemed to only happen in the LE, but I may be wrong. Aside from loading another save, I think I could break out of this by triggering a new camera routine (via interaction).

Not a bug. Liara has never counted as a romance for the achievement in ME2. The Paramour achievements in the LE are based off the old ones from the original games.

Good lord, I forgot how terrible ME3’s mission journal is. Everything just dumped into one great big list.

But it doesn’t seem like there’s anything there.

Does it save through Steam, or Origin? Either way, there should be cloud saves.

When i start up ME1 LE, it only gives me the choice for new game, not load or continue.

Holy JEEZ y'all. ME1 especially, what a glow-up.

That's how I'm feeling about the Additional Tasks list in ME:A. What a nightmare to actually use.
Best advice I can give to anyone that wants to actual enjoy playing ME:A is to completely ignore all the Additional Tasks.
