Mythic Quest and Ted Lasso are both Apple TV shows and both are pretty good.
"A new take on the epic fantasy genre... Darkly comic, relatable characters... twisted storyline."
"Readers who prefer tension and romance, Maledictions: The Offering, delivers... As serious YA fiction, I’ll give it five stars out of five. As a novel? Four and a half." - Liz Ellor My new novel: Maledictions: The Offering. Now in Paperback!
Harrison Ford is staying in my town to film a scene for the next Indiana Jones movie. He was photographed across the way from my apartment block this morning just trying to live his life.
Which leads to me, on the 0.3 mile walk to get my vaccine, walking past 2 news film crews, crowds of people and... A man dressed in a full on Santa outfit? Full beard, bell, everything.
I can only assume that this was Ford dressed in the most 5d chess costume imaginable to get away from everyone
Having just gotten a trailer for something on Twitter, I feel compelled to ask: are there any good Apple originals? Because whether TV or movies I never hear anyone talk about them ever, which tells me either no one subscribes to Apple+ (which I believe) or that they’re all mediocre or bad

Shows I’ve loved:
Dickinson
Ted Lasso
Central Park
Films I’ve loved:
Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry
Beastie Boys Story
Wolfwalkers
There’s a lot I haven’t seen, as like with any streaming service (no matter how much content on it) it can be overwhelming to know where to start. If nothing else, watch Dickinson and Ted Lasso
I haven't actually paid a subscription for Apple TV in I don't know how long. Every month they add a $5 credit to my account and that goes towards paying it. I forgot to update my credit card info after replacing my card and they've basically been giving me the service for free. I don't know if that's a covid thing or not.
“Jonah Hill will star in Kenya Barris’ latest Netflix film.
It is said to be a modern look at the themes tackled in ‘Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?’, the 1967 classic that saw a white couple’s daughter surprise her parents with a Black fiancé.”

I’m good, thanks
didn't- wasn't this a movie with Ashton Kutcher?
Actually, lets be honest, Jonah Hill is absolutely too old to play the fiancé, but is old enough to play the dad (maybe a little young, but it could work). Maybe the modern look is Jonah plays the father who needs to reassess their worldview and how they viewed society and untimely learns...racism bad?
Kenya Barris made his life story into a tv series not once, but twice, and he managed to star in it the second time.
I respect the man's work ethic, but I don't really dig his stuff. Based on seeing a few seasons of Blackish and the Netflix series I don't think that remake is going to be any good.
I am in the business of saving lives.

It's maddening that they keep trying to get away with this.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

Sidney Poitier was 40 and the character was a doctor. If they're flipping things around in this new one I don't know how being 37 is too old to play that character.
That's if they are changing the characters up a little. Also Jonah hill is a few months younger than me. Now I feel even older than too old.
As much as I love Accepted, Jonah Hill is better used in the Jump Street movies
Hill and Tatum lit up the screen in the Jump Steet movies in a way I honestly did not expect at all. It made sense when I realized they were helmed by the same guys who directed the original Lego Movie.

I decided to rewatch this movie recently and I got to say after listening to so many idiots on Twitter insisting that taking out student loans was entirely a personal decision that people should be held accountable for it was nice to be reminded of just how culturally inescapable the idea that not going to college meant you had no future was.

The advice we were getting in the 90s was from folks who graduated in the decades before when not as many people went to college and they were mostly wealthy and white and could slip into a middle management role with any degree because they knew a guy.
I don’t think it became fully apparent how much of a lie this was until it was way too late though. 2008 made it blatantly obvious.

It's a little of that, it's also that the promise of more school in your story opens up opportunity for more stories about time with friends, more parties, more adventures, etc. Compared to "it's our last summer together and then I'm going to be the assistant manager of a Wendy's". Animal House is basically that. It avoids the bleakness of having to grow up and get a 9 to 5.
