If there was an option to turn off the "timelimit" in Mooncrash, I'd totally love it but I like to move at a snail's pace and it HATED me for doing that.
Mooncrash
once I was able to buy the time extension items with the meta game currency the whole corruption thing became trivial. I was swimming in currency so I could easily always keep corruption at zero while taking the time to do everything.
It was actually kind of disappointing because there was no incentive to actually let corruption increase and make things riskier, took away most of the tension
I can see that being a problem! Yeah, I understand it's part of the game but like, maybe have the time tick down based on where you go, rather than always? Like you hit up anew area, it ticks down, that'd be perfect.
I should give it another go to see if I could do the same as you did!
They're more expensive but if you want a 3X series graphics card, I think prebuilds are the best bet.
However you've done well to get 10 years out of a CPU.
Trusty old i5 2400 (not a k)
Yeah I think I went with an msi trident system I found in stock. I'm not sure how I feel about the weird case layout (it has a riser cable separating the GPU from the Mobo) but it has a i7 10700k and a 3060. Still upgradeable though. Should be blazing fast compared to the old one. I'll just have to take off some bloatware when I move over some old files somehow. Probably have to pick up a cheap external enclosure to make that part easier since I've got two old HDDs with files to copy over to this spare 2tb hdd I'm going to pop in it.
Then I'll have to try out some games on it. It'll be nice to play at higher settings in stuff again for once. Might need to think about a new monitor eventually though.
If you're able to be a little bit patient, wait a month. GPU prices are definitely dropping. The 3060 is too new to show much in graphs yet, but here is ye olde 1660 as a stark example:
I /think/ there is some relationship where the cards that are better miners are dropping faster than the cards that are better fps/$.
A core 2 duo is what I was using before I got this i5 I think.
It just occurred to me too look up what ports are even on a 3060... My monitor doesn't even do DP or HDMI...
Looks like I'm going to have to find a DP to DVI cable or adapter.

I'm also still using a 10 year old i5. It does fine, mostly. Doesn't like Cities Skylines. And the conquest battles in Assassin's Creed Odyssey are funny because of how long it takes to load everyone in. Kassandra just patiently waits while all the soldiers around her appear a few at a time, then their clothes appear, then finally someone off-screen shouts "action" and everyone starts yelling and fighting.
Going "I'm am suing these 100 people. I have no idea who they are, but I pinky promise I'll get back to you once I figure that part out."
yea, maybe not 100 at once but it's for when you know people were involved but don't know their identities yet and you're intending to find out with discovery and subpoenas and such. if you never identify them then it's not like you can get a judgment against them
which might work in like a hit and run case, but that twitter thread points out it's a stupid move in defamation because the antiSLAPP motion stays discovery
It is mind boggling that they admit they wanna go on a fishing expedition with this thing in a case that doesn't allow them to fish.
What the fuck were they hoping to accomplish here? Utter failure?
Making money off a client who basically admitted they are doing it to silence others?
From Avellone's Ending Silence blog post:
Other women came forward, but addressing them is easier done by first challenging Karissa’s statements. This is because Karissa’s claims were, unfortunately, echoed by others as truth, which allowed these falsehoods to spread and seem to be true via repetition. Whether this was done out of malice or ignorance doesn’t matter. They are untrue.
When Karissa’s claims are addressed in court, they will put these other claims in a much different light. Other parts of these stories that weren’t parroted by others are easy to prove false with a little research… if even a little research had been done.
I wish I could just get a display port monitor but I literally don't know what I would be looking for in those these days.
Freesync is a important thing I guess? I don't want anything uhd or curved for sure... And nothing honking huge. Maybe 24 inches tops.
I am not sure what a decent monitor should even run me...
if you have an nvidia card, the thing to look for is g-sync or g-sync compatible, 144 hz, and 2k resolution (2560 x 1440). I haven't looked extensively but I would expect in the 200-400 dollar range. I think it might be hard to find a 24 inch monitor with those specs, I think the standard or easiest to find size is 27 inches.
Gonna say now, don't get a TN monitor. They tout faster response rates for MaXiMuM gAmInG but the trade-off in visual quality is significant. TN looks atrocious compared to IPS.

I am fully expecting Kait to die at the end of this game because THIS IS GEARS OF WAR AND EVERYTHING MUST BE GRIM DARK
This old one is crapping out in places.
The processor is ten years old after all.

One of my best friends can't play any newer games with me and another friend because he's still rocking an old Core2Duo

Besides being a creep, I mean?
Not everyone wants a fancy 144hz monitor with dp. I'm fine with my old 1080p60hz as long as it looks nice and runs smooth.
Damn, it looks like microcenter is in every major city around you except yours.
You can generally get affordable cabling from them at far less bullshit markups.

As far as I know it still is. I've never had any issues so far.

I recently bought an Acer EG240Y. It's a 1080p 165hz 24 inch monitor and it has both display port and HDMI. I paid 1400 DKK for it, and it appears to be 200USD in America:

I'm no monitor expert, but I think pretty nice.
I think a buttery smooth FHD with everything else turned up as high as I can is ideal to me.
Which sucks because the game seems really bad in a good way.
And now I've had to delete all of my between game progress in order to keep playing

It's quite simple, really. Pip got numberwang, which set Brovid up perfectly for numberwang
That's numberwang!
One.
