I appreciate that they demonstrated the effects on characters that aren't Zeraora, which is broadly considered overpowered to begin with. If you're seeing that kind of effect with more balanced characters, it's definitely significant.
(I will say, before someone accuses me of doublespeak in light of the previous post on item power, that getting an item to level 20 is comparatively easy relative to getting it to level 30. The difference of most concern would be players with all 20s vs players with all 30s, rather than a player with all 30s vs. a player with unlevelled items or even an incomplete set.)

I figured I would focus on float stone first, and just pumped it to level 10. No major difference so far. I'm also running scope and shell on Pikachu but both of those are level 1 still.
Oh yeah, I'm not even that great at MOBAs but my limited knowledge is still enough to dominate a lot of these matches. I also assume there's honestly a lot of kids playing, especially since it's summer.
Just fought Gengar for the first time. Uh... holy shit, seemed like no matter what I did he would just dive me and delete me instantly even on my own goal at even level. Uh... well then.
I feel like I would win 90% more of my ranked games if one of the quick chat options was”stop trying to do zapdos while they have 3 levels on us and are all right beside zapdos and we have two people dead you fucking morons “
The healing and shield from being on your goal is like... Useful, but won't save you, especially later on
Won't save you from a 2v1 either (unless you've got the berries and snag em first).
It can save you from a 2v1 if you've got a stun heavy kit and they kindly stack up for you. I've done that a few times with double dash zard, and had it done to me by snorlax
But yeah, definitely unreliable and will be much harder if your opponents don't get cocky in advantage.
Decided to try Ninetales and damn I like that one.
We had a game go 790-150ish.
Then did my first ranked match with Ninetales. Got 17 kills, 6 assists and 150 points. Avalanche to toss up a barricade, followed by blizzard to throw them into it is hilarious.
I'm enjoying the game so far. Really liking Talonflame.
The monetization doesn't seam too bad so far. Maybe it gets worse, but unless you want to be top best of the best or unlock things in a hurry, seams skipable to me.

The other route is cute too. Dazzling Gleam for the CC. Aurora Veil buffs allies and your damage is silly on autos with it.
Oof well two and a half days in I’ve hit the weekly cap for gold and Aeos energy also nowhere close to buying a second pokeyman apart from the one I got with the gold they shower you with on day one that gives you enough to buy one dude. This f2p progression is rough.
I just wanted a tank or support to pick in ranked since they don’t let you use trial characters *sob*
Slowbro does seem to not be quite as robust as Snorlax or Crustle when it comes to actually tanking damage.
I have gotten a decent amount of gold from the Crustle challenge thing they have going on, so make sure to do that. If I didn't spend any on items like a fool, I would have 14,000 right now which is enough for an 8,000 and a 6,000. Hell, right now I have enough for Snorlax and another one of the starters.
I made the mistake of going for a 10k (greninja) as my first so no others for me until I get him as a login reward in two weeks and apparently get the coins refunded. Mistakes were made
Haven’t spent any coins on anything but Him and have maxed out the weekly and done all the events, challenges etc and I’m sitting at 5.6k
So I have gotten a phys and sp atk set up to level 10s for 5 items using whatever the free tickets you earn are called and honestly even that feels like a huge advantage, I can't imagine how much stronger the lvl 30s are. It feels like most people don't have items at all yet.
I'm thinking the best course of action is to spend coins on the pokemon, and then spend the tickets on the items. You can also spend the tickets on clothes but... I honestly can't see the point. You really don't ever see the other trainers except at the win/lose screen at the end. Clothing is just for your own ego when staring at the main menu. Which I won't knock anybody for, but I just don't see the point spending the tickets on it, much less real money.
As far as which pokemon to buy, I've already amassed 10k coins, and my gut is telling me to buy one of the 10k ones. Greninja will be free from this 14 day bonus. So that leaves Garchomp, Lucario, Absol, or Gengar. Of course the other big brain play is to not buy anything. Because they will obviously be adding new pokemon, and it'll always be when you're dirt poor and they turn out to be the latest and greatest gamebreaker.
"The sausage of Green Earth explodes with flavor like the cannon of culinary delight."
Eldegoss is really good. Nobody expects the puffball to be so durable.
Yeah, i'm glad that
Eldegoss can actually, like, deal decent damage with autoattacks
No mana bar meaning i can spam the heal whenever it comes off cooldown
can actually sololane a bit and hold my own
Like, i'm guessing me being MVP withotu trying too hard is due to the target market not really being tryhard hardcore games but i'll take it. i'll be the big magikarp in the small pond.
Lucario, btw, has an absolutely delicious ult. Aura Blast is a giant piercing projectile. It travels about half the width of the map. And they were kind enough to give you an aim indicator on the minimap for it.

I've definitely managed it :P
Gotta give Venusaur another shot with Solar Beam because Petal Storm wasn't doing it for me.

uuuuuuuuugh
But mostly because I thought Amnesia felt really bad and didn't really give me the impression it was doing much
I play Scald/Telekinesis and it feels pretty impactful in fights though, and Scald has a short cooldown so you can inflict burn constantly
You have Talonflame and Bulbasaur
What other pokes could you possibly need

Edelgoss, on a balanced team.... and i crushed everyone under my soft, fluffy heel.
Best in scoring, assists, healing, tied for best in kills... I dominated.
This is a good feeling i never felt in a MOBA before.
Also i get to look cute so that makes me happy too.

Edit: Also I love the current quick match map. Aside from the Abra hunting objective, which is annoying.
