The gag towards the end with Idris directing them all like Cap in the Avengers had me doubled over with laughter.

That and "get back on the satellites, Dale, ya fuckin' dickhead."

God what a just wonderful, gross movie. Shame we didn't get to see more of the weasel though.

That's possibly the most impressive thing I've heard of since Linda Hamilton really picked her straight jacket locks with a paperclip and her mouth.

In a similar vein, I was genuinely sad when Nanaue started crying because his jelly friends attacked him.

Also speaking of Milton, it was particularly funny to me because each time they'd do a shot I'd just be like "...wait, isn't that the driver? What the fuck is he doing? Was this a mistake? Nobody's acknowledging him! Why is he still here"

I thought this was really good and I was really hyped when Starro burst out of the building and started stomping around

I don't really like the sight gag with Polka Dot Man's mom and I think that if they wanted the bit where the control room operators turn on Waller to land better, they probably should have cut the scene where they start betting on which members of the team will die first, maybe? But those are like...the only real quibbles I have with it.

Favorite part was maybe the scene where Harley has the whole date sequence and then...shoots the guy the second he starts talking about his evil plans and does the red flag speech. Very good shit.

I legit cheered when Harley killed him and started her "red flags" speech. Which is definitely partially informed by Birds of Prey, but still, great shit.

Regarding Waller, this movie really chipped away at her legend in a way she truly deserves (at least, the modern version of the character since New 52, I haven't read enough of the older version to judge). Her prep work is sloppy and makes the missions go worse than they have to. Her mission control team are a bunch of mean spirited slack offs. And finally, she's easily one of the worst people in the prison because her moral compass is based on very little of value. Even her team notices that last one until they can't look away.

The movie was quite good. I wasn't feeling super enthusiastic about seeing it for whatever reason (just a low energy day, I guess), but it changed my mind in the very first scene and hooked me right away.

    So I did a rewatch.

Anyone else notice that Peacemaker stands at attention when Waller is doing the intros?

I really wanted him to realize he's in over his head and just duck out, but since he's in this kind of movie, him being around will 99% kill him eventually.

Dude's got balls coming along tho!

I also appreciated them setting up Michael Rooker as this professional, hardcore dude, and then just have him see all the carnage on that beach and immediately run away screaming.

One other note: why did the bad guys in this movie hate birds so much

Savant in particular hates Canaries because he was a Black Canary villain. Everyone else, no idea, not sure why "bird death" was the motif it was.

I liked it, but - shouldn't Waller know better than anyone that the release of Starro is a protentional Keter class end-of-the-world scenario that needs to be stopped immediately before it spreads? Like that shit doesn't make any fucking sense to me.

She probably didn’t want task force X’s existence or mission getting compromised and saw Starro as something that a different superhero or the US military could come in and clean up.
