Since a certain mod moved the old thread like a douche, here is the new pokemon thread. I'll go and find one of the OP's to steal and put in some relevant sites and shit here.

    General Rules for Cockfights of the Pokemon variety:

    Sleep Clause: Once one of your opponent's Pokemon is asleep, you can't use sleep moves.

    Item Clause: No multiples of held items.

    Species Clause: Only one of each Pokemon.

    Double Team: Usually banned. Sometimes this is extended to ALL evasion moves (ie Minimize).

    OHKO Moves: Also banned.

    "Suicide Moves": If you are on your last Pokemon, moves that kill your Pokemon are generally not allowed. Explosion, Perish Song and probably Destiny Bond are examples.

    Baton Pass: A team that entirely revolves around Baton Pass is generally banned. We mean like, nearly all six Pokemon have Baton Pass. Not one or two.

    These may or may not be the rules of our particular event, just passing on common rules.

    yeah, we're not outlawing freaking baton passing. I'm not completely certain about the actual rules, since whenever someone mentions banning double team or having a sleep clause a big argument breaks out.

    I would assume these are no-brainers that don't raise any controversy: self-destructing for a tie counts as a loss for the self-destructor, you may only have one copy of a held item on your team at once, and you may only have one of a species on your team at once.

    I'm pretty sure for the tournament, we decided on Species and Item Clause.

    Also legendaries are banned, as well as Wynaut/Wobuffet.

    Also, Double Team. For whatever reason.

    Do you think killing yourself with recoil damage should count as a self-destruct? Like from brave bird and such. Or with a life orb, or Hitmonlee's new ability, perhaps.

    These should seriously be the only rules. I pm'd scrum a good list of rules a while back, and I'd be happy with nothing else.

    I have no problem with those rules.

    Frankly, I think that a team that revolves around baton pass is dumb anyway so I don't give two shits either way with that.
