the hail can be easily dealt with if you use an ice pokemon (coughweavile) as your false swiper.
If I see a shiny I'll more than likely throw a master ball. The bigger issues are:
1) The battles just plain take longer
and 2) The snow outside of battle makes the rustling bushes harder to see
It keeps a tally, I guess. You beat seven in a row, then beat another seven, then start one more time, beat six in a row, and then on the 21st it'll be the tycoon.
I hate the Tower Tycoon... Milotic sleeps Magmortar, Lum wakes it up, and thunderbolt. 25%. Re-sleeps Magmortar, i switch out to garchomp. Then, sleeps garchomp. Garchomp wakes up after 2 Dragon pulses and Finishes Milotic. Dragonite comes out. Dragonite eats a Dragon claw, in the red, then Kills Garchomp. Switch out to Gengar, who finishes him off. Then, Rhyperior. Gengar uses hypnosis, it hits. Nightmare, 75%. Shadow ball, less than 10%. Rhyperior wakes up and Ice beams. Gengar freezes, and does not unfreeze for the 4 turns it takes to kill him. Magmortar gets sent back out, who doesnt wake up and dies in one hit.

That's right. And when you lose, it resets the count to 0, and if you reach the 21st battle again you get to fight him again as well. And you get all that juicy 20 BP for beating him every time.
You get a rematch against him at battle 50, he's using rarer, though not necessarily more difficult, pokemon. I found that fight much easier than the first one.

Sleep Talk (has Guts, does quite a number on sleepers)

Shadow Ball

Thunderbolt
Perish Song (mainly for forcing double teamers that get out of hand to switch out)
Weavile can almost sweep everything by itself up to the first battle with the tycoon. My last run got up to the mid 50s, when I was faced with a max speed aerodactyl that tore me up.

I've just been using Empoleon, Leafeon, and Mismagius for my Battle Tower runs. Might go again with my new Pokemon just for the Ribbons. I've found it quite easy to beat him with those three.
Empoleon OHKOs Dragonite with Ice Beam after eating a Stone Edge or Dragon Rush for weak damage.
Empoleon OHKOs Rhyperior with Surf (his Rhyperior probably has Lightningrod or something. It does have Ice Beam, so I would'nt be surprised if it has the crap abilitiy)
Mismagius takes out most, if not all, of Milotic's HP with Thunderbolt, and Leafeon finishes it off with Leaf Blade.
Bam, 20 BP for me after an easy fight.
What Pokemon does he use for the 50th fight? I'm curious to see if they're worth going through the Battle Tower some more to fight him again.
Can anyone explain on how to use Focus punch efectively only good for fast pokemon, i heard to use substitute but on a slow poke im not sure thatd help much.
edit: I got trash with it... been waiting online for like 10 minutes; but, the forums are complete non-responsive for me (and have been for like a week).

Why do you think Rhyperior is so popular for a Rock/Ground type? He's got one of the worst type combos (weak to Ground, Water, Grass, Fighting, and Ice, all of which are always on teams. He's also weak to Steel, but that doesn't really count). His stats and his abilitiy draw people to him.
Was I suggesting it wasn't a strong and popular pokemon?

Well, I'm just saying that his abilitiy to resist two STAB'd Swords Danced Ice Punches is why he'sa great tank, so lots of people will use him, despite his bad type combo.

Yeah, the forum going down right that moment was pretty frustrating. I'll get online now, if you're stilla round.

Hey guys, who makes a good HM bitch? I'm tired of using Stunktank for cut/smash/fog, machoke for strength/climb, my resident water poke for surf and Starraptor for Fly.
Oh... hey...
I was gonna breed a bunch of Beldums to trade on GTS in the next hour or so.
If anyone wants one, pm me (add a nature/gender if you wish... I'll try.).

and when I know I'll be fighting the tower tycoon, I put swampert at the front of the lineup and swap out infernape for...

Dragon Claw

because infernape is pretty much useless against all three of the tycoon's guys

how do choice (band/scarf/specs) work? how do you choose your move?
You use the move. And then you have to keep using that move, or switch out.
If you use a non-attack move what happens? can you then choose a different move next turn?
No. You will be forced to use the same non-attack, unless you switch out.
Specs: Same as Band, but for Special attacks.
Scarf: Speed is increased instead of damage. Same otherwise.
Any move used will be the only one you can use. Even if it deals no damage, you'll still be limited to just the one..
Edit: Damnit, beat'd.
