Oh boy! Time to make a post so I identify where the Pokemon thread is in the forum!
I think I'm spending most of tonight training up a sixth guy for my makeshift team. I don't expect the team to be exceptionally good, but at this point I'm just getting my feet wet with competitive battling. I need to set up a few other moves on my guys, so I expect to be ready to rumble tomorrow. Maybe later tonight, I dunno.
I'm thinking of making a team around rain dance or sunny day at some point.

Those were the IVs from the one with the highest special attack AND speed.

Something strange just happened. I was Ditto hunting and I was trying to catch this one.
It transformed into my Staraptor and I started throwing balls. Normally I can catch them in 1-2 balls even if they are transformed.
This one would not get caught. I used almost 15 balls on it of all types. I used Dusk, Quick, Nest and Ultra balls. Even weirder, it was faster than my Staraptor, who's level was more than double that of the wild Ditto. It actually KOed my Staraptor. I just ran from it after that.

He didn't want to get caught maybe? those pokeballs can be pretty harsh...
All you have to do against Dittos is switch to a Magikarp when you see them and then throw a pokeball.

But the fact that I couldn't catch it is what was the strange thing. It never even shook once. I know that the pokeball shaking isn't an indication of if it is close to being caught, but it just struck me as odd.
I think shaking is an indicator for non-legendaries with more normal catch rates. I've seen things gradually have more shakes on average as I whittle down their HP, add status effects, and so on.
