    I firmly believe this is a reference to Hong Kong Phooey.

    At the very least, it's a reference to Sriracha (specifically Huy Fong sriracha). Kung Fu Rooster being the nickname Mike and Jerry call the sauce by. But the character in this comic does have a very Hong Kong Phooey feel to him.
